remember when sweden lost to russia and gave up finland but then germany beat russia and was gonna install a pro german government but surrendered before that happen. Then 20 years later russia said nah i want that back and finland said lets throw hands and see who wins. Then they eventually lost flipped the script with the germans took their land back didnt advance any farther than their old borders then soviets said nah i want that back then declared war on germany and lost their old territory again. That was finnish history in what like 4 sentences and 3 run ons. Can you see a pattern here? Good thing for finland and sweden is i believe with conscription they could fight back russia but at a pretty high cost and heaven for bid you push russia into their own territory because then you'll be blackmailed by putin with a threat of nukes.

All to say sweden is badass and so is finland they are brothers but not twins like north and south in america.

@Mies I like the idea though! A nordic alliance between Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. We could also include our nearest "newborn" neighbours - Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Then we don't have to be an 'American puppet' anymore (as memberships in NATO would be like).

Well a Nordic defence alliance was on the table but Sweden backed off it. So Denmark and Norway joined NATO instead. Thankfully Nordic millitary partnership is on the rise:) we could be fine on our own with us all increasing our millitarys accordingly.
