It looks to me that Mortals spoke of Purgatory or something along those lines, which is reinforced by the fact that this looks like the river Styx, which is associated with death and all. Nice mythology in your awesome songs mate

Fun fact, I actually thought of this while brainstorming ideas for a little story I was writing at the time. I wanted to go all philosophical for a certain segment, and the lyrics from Mortals just came to mind. Started thinking about what the lyrics meant and finally reached the conclusion that it had something to do with all of this. You're one of the few artists I know that puts entire stories in his music, which I love. Nice going!

Personally, I feel like the song is great, but it doesn't fit the title. For those of you don't know, Kharon, or Charon, is the mythical figure that ferries dead people across the river Styx in the Greek Underworld. I feel like something more creepy, sinister, and grand is needed for something like that. Great music though. The second part works with the title, but the first part doesn't
