Its basicly templars only way of doing consistant dps, having it do consistant hits while the templar also does basic skills does pretty decent damage, tho it does have a large setup time and its pretty limited by talents. Without talents ur stuck to going only magic builds if u want good dmg on bosses. the talent on left branch swaps the minion skill to scale from physical damage instead of magic, the damage for the minion stays about the same since u lose out on pene from heavens power, but with a proper pierce build ur minion does really good damage. Having the minion talent also allows u to get more aoe dmg from other skills (magic templars often struggles with aoe). Its a good skill overall but with how talent reliant it is with long setup times (high cd and u need 2 minions to do full damage) it makes templars kinda lack in damage compared to other classes and theyr talent branches.
