On top of being a very good instructor and a great product reviewer with a professional manner, Ed is just a tremendous player! Man, what a great bassist!

I love it because of the pickup being the other way around.It must really bring out the bass in the thinner notes.

This may be a pointless question, but is it possible to get a good jazz tone from this bass? As in, midrange.

You say the redwood 1'' top contributes to the tone... how? I don't hear it all that differently than other 'wicks. Just wondering what your thoughts are.

Hey. I watched the way you were slapping the A string there and I was wondering if you could answer a question I have? To mute the E string, do you just use the heel of your right hand?

hey ed i was looking into a warwick for my studio bass. would this be a good idea? i was thinking of a streamer thru-neck or a corvette. which would you would recommend? i can't really find much to compare here. i like the streamer b/c of the reverse P and j pick-ups and i like the corvette b/c its jazz pick-ups but i own a jazz bass already. you play so many basses i so you have a good idea of everything and i respect your opinion!!

@FASHWENKA Well, all of the punk rock bassists I've seen use either a Precision or a Ric. And, the Jazz Bass and the Ric practically own the prog rock genre. Like, almost all of the classic prog bands I've seen use a Rickenbacker 4001 or 4003. Greg Lake used a Jazz Bass, and so does Geddy Lee, so I guess they're the exceptions. And, I want this Streamer, SO bad.

What is that you're playing? (the song/riff I mean). I like it. :)
@ustolemybeer
@ustolemybeer 14 лет назад
@wackiirahki I disagree. They only focus on the good points. If you don't want to know any of the bad points of the bass, like, for example if all the basses are dropped from 50 feet high by accident but it looked fine so they still sold them, then this is for you.

Truss rod on any good bass shouldn't need adjustment hardly ever. I've had a corvette custom for 13 years and never touched the the neck - it's an absolute honey. Between the bridge and just-a-nut you can get anything you need in the action. Warwick makes the best elec basses in the world - get one.

Maybe It's just because I'm mostly a bassist, and don't play much guitar, but it seems like there are really only like three or four guitar sounds, not including distortion. I listen to GuitarWorld doing reviews of guitars, and I hear no real difference in most, but it seems like basses have much more harmonic quality because of the big, long strings that slight things can make drastic differences in the sound. I can think of ten or fifteen distinct, usable bass tones off the top of my head.

@wmbigreds25 14 лет назад
ok, i play guitar, and im not a bass expert so maybe someone can help me... but what im thinkin is, from 5:05-6:00 they sound exactly the same. the only time i hear a difference is from the bridge pickup to the neck pickup. the switching from active to passive sounds exactly the same to me

Well...that's just retail. I think they started around $3200 and now after a few years there are only two or so left at the bass place and they're selling them for $2200.

@TheEurasia23 streamer man all the way, besides you can get that mm sound with the streamers neck pickup anyway, i also find the neck on the streamer more comfortable but ultimately the choice is up to you, happy groovin' :)

Justanut: Because they can't be bothered spending the time to get the nut height (which only needs to be adjusted once) right straight out of the factory. Angled tuners: Nice idea, except they are now at an angle which makes them harder to turn. If anything they should be pointing in the opposite direction. If you have tried them out you will know what I mean.

@arifreeman Just a nut is not because they're lazy, if you buy a nice bass and play it for a while and often, the nut wears down,and maybe u just wana raise the action, you'd have to get it shaved down or add a shim for anything, Justanut fixes all those problems

@athansauc hes just playing chords in a Abe Laboriel like 4 finger way :b I guess in it's way it's an arpeggio (: but in reality it's just classical guitar on bass :P not too difficult to do slowly (:

miggy, being a 'gear snob' doesn't make you a good bassist. It doesn't even make your opinion respectable. It just makes you sound like a snob. The cheapest bass I have is a Peavey Milestone II (Precision copy). That bass is so solid is NEVER goes out of tune! I mean NEVER and I've owned it for 13 years. I've taken it from Alaska to Texas and it NEVER goes out of tune. I check the tuning and never have to retune.Totally solid bass. $109 at a pawn shop. You don't know what you're talking about!

This is one of the most absurd comments I have ever read on youtube. The cheaper the bass the more you're gonna have to get it fixed? Seriously? Warwick breaks easy? Really? Where are you coming up with this?
