My favorite single match from Hook! Gladly it was not a quick match like many others before, but it was a great and must needed kind of match for Hook to show more of his personality and attitude in the ring! Daivari is so talented and the story of trying to buy the FTW title it's simple and it make sense based on his gimmick, but it seems this will not be the last time that the Handsome Devil and the Trustbusters will fight against each other, they will try to take away the title from Hook, and Parker Bordeaux could be the final boss of the story, and maybe Sony Kiss could be a tag team partner of Hook?! Well done gentlemen and AEW! Keep rocking and rolling! 💪🔥👍

Depends on if you want Parker to get over. He should stay away from people they want to get over and instead smash him over the jobbers instead. Move him onto Hook when you need Hook to take a loss

JR is in this funny phase in his career where he just has no fucks left to give, and at times it leads to some really amusing stuff. He doesn't try to fluff up nonsense, so stupid gimmicks like Trust Busters and Danhausen just get absolutely trashed. You know OC is good because JR initially did the same thing to him until he proved himself in the ring.

Everyone knows wrestling relies on gimmicks and other window-dressing. In fact, I would say the audience of AEW knows this better than just about any other brand's audience. I thought it was funny.

You see, THIS is the issue with what they did in the Sammy-Eddie match. There was no way they would be consistant about it. Had they been it could have become something interesting, but here Hook chokes out someone despite the ref telling him to let go and no consequences.

Hook let go a couple of seconds after the ref told him to, eddie kept it on for like 5mins, and the ref warned him multiple times that he will reverse the dec, but he never cared

My point is that Sammy got declared the winner of the match after Eddie tried to choke him out post-match, which the commentary sold as a result of TK tellings the refs to be harsher on enforcing the rules. This match has the same scenario, but not the same consequences which ruins any semblence of an angle the Sammy-Eddie match had.

Not really sure why people are calling this a 'competitive match'. Yes Daivari was allowed to get some offense in, but at no point was there any question that Hook was going to walk away with the clean win and the belt. There was no time that it seemed Hook was tired or hurt, he was never in a situation where it seemed he might actually lose, no big moves against him. He is still being protected and there is no valuable story for him to lose here.
