This is my favorite and has my favorite story. Having a bounty on my head from a bunch of villains made me so excited and the fight vs desthstroke was my favorite boss fight in any superhero game
I didn’t go over any of the other content just the main game as that’s how I viewed every other game in my other videos so that it doesn’t come to an automatic advantage or disadvantage
7:20 dude you are SO correct. Just replayed it during the holidays (because duh) and it is WILD how quickly it all wraps up. I usually take my time with side missions, but try to wrap them up around the same time as the story, so i was at about 45% completion when the Firefly mission popped up. After beating Firefly, the endgame starts. Youre whisked off to Blackgate for all final angounters and cant leave. It felt so stupid knowing how much content i still had left. I just wish there was some kind of warning or somehting.
I really think the only reason asylum isn't the worst game in the series is because its the "OG" and origins reuses assets, but thats because the people that made the game (I forgot) were probably told "Hey, we need you to pump out a game to keep that fans entertained for a while so that we can develop our game." And I'm pretty sure origins was released in 2013 and city was in 2011, so they had 2 years to make a AAA game, and they had to live up to expectations. Which was probably very stressful thanks to the small amount of time they had, which might have caused them to rush. Also before someone says "Well they only had 2 years with city," but city was going to be made first, so they probably had most of that done.
I'm curretly replaying orgins rn ( 2024 seems to be a bit of bat-spree, as, since the start of this year I already replayed both Asylum and City 😅 ), and I can say while this game is overall fun, there are many issues, both major and minor, that definietly hold back Orgins from achiving greatness like AA and AC did. Three things in particular really sour the experience for me, *Especialy* if you played city before Orgins ( like no doubt majority of people did ) : 1 - Map. And I don't mean re-useing assets, it's the same city after all, but how the map is layed out. North and south Gotham are separated by gigantic bridge, makeing regular travel between them unfun and tedious task, practicly forcing player into useing fast travel. 2 - combat. Orgins not only didn't fix ( admitedly, few ) problems city had ( like overly long ground takedowns, needlesly difficult knife doge/counter and lack of clear rules what does/doesn't grant you invincibility frames), it added it's own - window for blocking the attack is noticably smaller than in city, and game sometimes likes to not to register blocking even if you press the right button for apparently no reason. 3 - challenges system. This one is so dumb design flaw it's emberrasing. City had Riddler phisical challenges, but they were usually easy and you could did them in any order you wanted. In orgins, nope, you have to do them in rigid order and some of them are practicaly undoable unless you very, very specificly focus on doing them. Worst by far is nr 6 in ( very fitingly ) worst nightmare ladder that is only possible to do in litelary one location in the game ( techniclay two, but the 2nd one in at tail end of the game, and there are still 9 more challenges to do ). Whole system is designed ( and devs even openly admited that ) with coercion into new game + in mind.
its not a bad game but its easily the worst in the series. clunky traversal, shitty AI, ugly UI, loaded with bugs. it takes everything from city but makes it worse lol it does have its redeeming qualities like the christmas theme, year 2 batman being an interesting story and good boss fights. but i would much rather play any other game in the series
im on my first playthrough of all games (it was going to be in order but i got told scary things about asylum so its last) and i played origins first, i just finished city and im ngl, i think origins is better
Cool that ur starting it and going through them all now! But asylum’s horror elements do not come close to knight so I’d say play knight last especially since it’s the last in the series
