“Blastin’ nip at the diner” chandler I am begging you to consider putting your nifty little one liners on any of your merch. Preferably, “shucking corn” 😂😂
This format is very cool! And I loved this book, this was a 5 stars for me! I was cackling out loud and I personally thought the pining was all along the book, just more silent at the beginning
I loved this book so much, and thought it was super unique. It had aspects of a dark romance book, but the romance itself was soft and sweet and full of pining, which I loved. I’m looking forward to Leather and Lark, but I don’t know if it will top this one for me.
I love this style of video. I’ve missed your reading one book closely vlogs so defo would love you to do more you always have the funniest things to say!
i looove videos like these!! it feels like buddy reading 😊 i agree with a lot of your points. their relationship felt so rushed and so much of their bonding wasn’t shown. also the ~edginess felt a little try-hard
I really enjoyed the dual narration audiobook, but I did have to skip a few scenes that were a bit to graphic, but also some of those graphic scenes had me laughing out loud. It was a fun read in my opinion.
Can’t trust me to give good feedback bc I eat anything you post, but I like the single videos! Reminds me of older booktube days 😂 I thought this was fun!!
My main issue with this book was that we didn't see the characters get to know each other, it's supposed to be a 3 year timeframe but all of that communication and relationship building is done off page. Then I'm supposed to care when they see each other again?! The audiobook was the only redeeming feature for me. I don't care enough or feel like I know the characters enough to want to read the second book.
I loved this book so much and rated it 6/5. The audiobook was incredible too! Excited to read/listen to Leather and Lark; it's been highly anticipated for me for MONTHS. Of course I had to start ACOSF first and have a little less than half to go before I can start L&L. Popped this comment in early in the video, excited to see what you think!
I loved butcher and blackbird tooi read while listening to the audio it was so good, great banter, I loved everything about it, I'm excited to read leather and lark, and listen to the audio too😍😭✅
I personally liked the book. It was just a fun little storyline, honestly though it was going to be more graphic and also a bit more into the "Why do they kill and can they fall in love" aspect, but overall I liked it, it was just a fun time to read
I thought butcher and blackbird was a cute 3.3 out of 5 read but the second book is definitely a 2(arguably lower) star read for me. Leather and Lark fell extremely flat for me from the plot, to the couple, even the two mcs individually. I hope you continue to do more in-depth reading blogs.
A June’s journey sponsorship in June!! I love a book that makes me squirm🤣 I’ve started this book and already had a gross moment with maggots. Haven’t gotten too far into it but I’m enjoying it. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts❤ this should be a dbbc pick would love to hear Hadens thoughts too
I agree with you; the beginning was fun and all but towards the end it felt rushed and annoying, just another romance like you said. Plan to read the next on but this was a 3 star for me too.
i dnf this book after the third killing that they start making out bc i thought it was so fast especially for two people that just see each other one time a year... like they didn't really know each other that much for sooo much attraction idk... i'm glad i didn't continue lol (i'm with you about the feeling of the killings being kinda lazy it would be more fun if it was kinda a roadtripesque after the first serial killer...
I loved this weird ass book and I also loved seeing somebody's in depth thoughts on it vs a goodreads review, but I would prob avoid it if it was a book I hadn't read.
I thought the book was pretty mehhh but for different reasons. Honestly I found the first chapter good, then about 60% boring, and then the last 40% basically just a fuck fest. They had a few romantic moments but I found it to be wayyy overhyped. It was fine. But for the rave reviews it’s been getting for months I’d expect way more.
That would've been fun! But i did enjoy the book - i laughed a lot and rated it 4 stars.. i'm not sure i'm going to love the 2nd book tho.. the unique-ness may be over...lol..
I love Mindfu*k series, and was hoping this book would be similar but to me, it was just a hot mess, didn't enjoy it at all..everything seemed rushed and out of place..I would 100% recommend Mindfu*k series over this
I gave it 3 stars. It felt like the author could have replaced serial killing with any other competitive activity and the plot would have been the same. The romance was "too normal" for people who are literally killers. Plus their friends and family are like "yep theyre a murderer so normal" like that isnt addressed at all really??? I just wished they were crazier people with ted bundy/charlie manson vibes instead of a typical rom/com healthy(?) Relationship dynamic. So it was underwhelming but still a fun easy read so I'll be continuing the series.
I gave this a 3.5. The ending felt like a runaway train and I couldn't figure out what they actually liked about each other besides being vigilante hit men and have hot sex.
i think i gave this 4 stars vibes were there but definitely was disappointed by the romance overall (definitely think she went freaky on the murder and i wanted her to go more freaky with the actual freaking between the characters)
I read it and did not love it. Too insta lovely and not weird enough. The premise was promising but i did not love the execution. It was not very believable or compelling the serial killer thing was kind of in the background. Did not enjoy the male leads pov. I will say the accidental cannibalism was really funny and i enjoyed that scene. The audiobook was really well done loved the narrators and how they blended their voices together!
I strongly disliked this book. I had such high hopes because a dark romcom would have been everything, but it really fell flat for me. And I have a really low bar for a book to get a 4 star from me lol. Although, the ending did leave me intrigued enough to want to read the next book.
I read this book in the last couple of months and it was.. Solid. However, I think I’m going to read Leather and Lark. Butcher and Blackbird was a solid 3 stars so just mid
Did it suck for you to edit this? How many times you said k*lling when explaining the book. 😂 Made me laugh but also I thought that must have been so annoying for your future self or Hayden to take care of. I love your videos! 🥰🤩😂
@@chandlerainsley When I got to the part in the video where you mentioned it I was like OH NOOO now she’s gonna have to edit those! Either way it was an awesome video!
this book was pretty average and the sex scenes were so porn-like. i didnt feel like they were romantic at all if that even has a space in the book. i also felt like none of the real get-to-know-you was on the page, and all the crap jokes and teasing was so one-note by the end of the book. i ended up giving it 2 stars but id read the second one if it was a buddy read. went down like water. couldve finished it in a day it was really easy to read.
I was a little underwhelmed by this one. It did have some fun original ideas in it, but the romance was not it for me. I just read the second book, because I thought I'd love that couple more, but honestly it wasn't any better 🫤🤷🏻♀️
