The very fact that this is even a question makes me a little sad, but we can't exactly blame the people who have this question these days for it. Generation upon generation has been subjected to and put through a largely Eurocentric education system (especially when it comes to the 'history' we are taught and the lens we are taught to view it through), as well as a lingering inferiority complex that is, unfortunately, still harboured by many Indians today. That makes me all the more thankful for people like Mr. Chavda who can respectfully counter this narrative and introduce a different viewpoint in doing so. Keep doing what you do, sir!

It made you a *little sad.* I was appalled that there are people who can make such a suggestion. It is the pacifist nature of Indians that we continue to be "respectful" of such depths of nonsense. The suggestion that, _Well, the British just shat in our faces and not in our mouths. So, that has to be good._

Brazil speaks Portuguese...it has forgotten the languages native to its land...Brazil was a Portugal colony and adopted the Portugal language ..so where's the self respect there? ... India still speaks hindi and other regional languages native to its land..besides speaking English ( we also speak English cuz we were colonized by the English / brits) which is an added bonus.. if not for anything else ..we can atlesst connect with the world community in a much better way than others who can't speak English ...learning and speaking a new language is never a bad thing... just imagine with the kind of backwardness and poverty we have today ..if we even didn't know English we'd have been in total shambles. The newer generations of China , Japan, Germany, France , eastern Europe have all started learning and communicating in English.. English has been introduced in there education system and so many of them are found of various language portals and social platform looking to practice their Englsh with native English speakers ... so all those counties have understood the importance of knowing English which is the lingua franca of the world.. so nothing wrong on knowing and adopting English language..which can help us to connect with international community more easily and in a better way

@@cosmictruth3600 Oh my god so much respect for English language. Boy learn the language good to communicate but don't dwell into it so much that u forget using mother tongue. Here in India people have a stereotype that a person speaking English is well educated and hindi speaking is just old fashion. Change this mentality and still keep English as a medium for better communication in any international matter ( travelling, studying, business, documents) but for national for god sake keep Hindi or your native language the top.
@cosmictruth3600
@cosmictruth3600 3 года назад
@@writersart2488 that is what is my very point. In India we haven't forgotten our mother tongue unlike Brazil or other Latin American countries. .. English is very important.. even in the ICSE syllabus English and Hindi subjects are compulsory besides other subjects like social studies, science, maths, etc ...( during my time ) not sure if they have added a regional language subject also alongside English and Hindi in today's time...and in all state board syllabus one regional language is certainly compulsory ...in our country we mostly communicate in our local language ..English is used only at work, interviews and official communications only...( especially in private sector) .. How many Indians can speak English properly? Not many ...it is because we mostly communicate in our local language. Unlike Brazil or other Latin American countries where they have forgotten their real language..and adopted the Latin languages of Portugal and Spanish respectively.. Brazil did not adopt English language however adopted Portuguese cuz they were not colonized by English but by Portugal.

I said we all still speak, read and write our own languages too besides English unlike Brazil which has compeletrly adopted a foreign language as ther own ans have forgotten their own languages Btw hindi is not the only language spoken in India there are other languages too. So pls you need to change the mentality that hindi the native language for all Indians. ..there are various other regional languages too spoken widey in different regions outside the hindi belt..However it doesn't make sense to ignore English and only stick to our own languages esentially That was my point .its like taking several steps backward and isolating ourselves. As far as the stereo types are concerned I am not even getting there ..that's a different topic all together..

There are still some Clubs where family rich people gather together and feels nostalgia about how India was good under British Colonization. And we are still told that we have progressed only bcoz of Britishers. Hence, its necessary for us to come out of this Syndrome and form a new India thinking and always be proud of our ancestors who sacrificed their lives for our Freedom.

I’ve attended many international seminars and meetings abroad. I’ve seen the French, the Germans, the Russians, the Chinese and the Japanese take notes during speeches in their own language. But we Indians take notes in English. Colonisation of India by the British is the single great blow to our nation’s self respect. As I grow older by the day I feel more and more humiliated of it. Perhaps that’s what the British intended to do to a great nation.

I asked ChatGPT to draw a parallel between the Britishers and swarms of Locusts. Here is what it answered: The comparison between the British Empire and swarms of locusts draws attention to a striking parallel in their impact on the world. Just as locusts descend upon farmlands, consuming crops and leaving barren landscapes behind, the British Empire extended its reach across continents, leaving a wake of colonization and exploitation. The empire's voracious appetite for resources and power led to the systematic colonization of numerous countries, resulting in the exploitation of their wealth, resources, and cultures. Like locusts devouring fields, the Britishers consumed the riches of the lands they colonized, leaving behind socio-economic imbalances, cultural erosion, and political upheavals. The British Empire's colonization was marked by the imposition of their values, institutions, and governance systems, often at the expense of indigenous cultures and traditions. Just as locusts disrupt the delicate ecosystem of farmlands, the British rule disrupted the social fabric of the colonized nations. Economies were restructured to serve the interests of the empire, leading to unequal distribution of wealth and exploitation of local labor. The aftermath of British colonization echoes the aftermath of a locust invasion, with countries struggling to recover from the social, economic, and political scars inflicted by imperial rule. In summary, likening the British Empire to swarms of locusts underscores the parallel in their capacity to cause widespread devastation. Both phenomena highlight the far-reaching consequences of unchecked exploitation and dominance, whether in the natural world or in the realm of geopolitics.

I am glad I found your channel. I really believed that Indians tought that the British colonization what the best that ever happened to them. You should come to countries with Indian Diaspora. This is the way they think. They think the Dutch are the best thing that ever happened to them. They can't see that the Dutch destroyed their self image and that's why they see them a better human beings than themselves and others. A small group of them keep our country down, just to please the Dutch.

I'm okay with people using English at their workplaces, but bringing that language home and communicating with your family members in English is disgusting. One can see this trend a lot wherein parents feel the need to school their children in English, as if schooling them in their mother tongue is not going to sound serious enough. I look around and see people teaching their children ABCD at a very young age and these same kids grow up struggling to speak their mother tongue with proficiency! We need to push for Indian culture and Indian languages within India first.

In class 10th cbse board we study in history book about the East India Company. The most controversial part of that book according to me is, 'Benefits of East India Company'. I mean, what benefits? That seed of myth eventually grows into a plant of misunderstanding and people end up taking this so called beneficiary side of EIC seriously.

The kindness of a coloniser towards the natives is same as the kindness a butcher has on his goats. Had our ancestors been strong and smart enough to keep them under check, India would have been a wealthier place and people would have had a better life. Those days, foreigners came into India for trade, education and invasion. Thanks to British, Indians are going to other countries for education, employment and others. And we take pride of having an advantage of knowing English as it furthers our opportunities. Above all, the stigma of colonisation still haunts the Indians.

Sir, idk whether this happens with anyone else but I feel I am an emotional person and right now I have just hatred for britishers and those who tried to colonize us in past. These videos of yours has enlightened me a lot about our real Indian History and made me cry often. I don't know how to react sometimes it's harsh reality but no one out there is giving any fk about it. But I really appreciate your boldness and courge that you have shown by covering these sensitive topics that which no one else will try to even touch in India beside criticizing country outside the nation. But I believe real people of India still exist here and they don't act like puppets instead they want reforms and soon we will be at the top again. Thanks Sir once again!

Wonderful sir. I am from Kerala and I agree completely on the railways if one studies the railway line in Kerala alone you will find the line is very close to the coast. They completely destroyed the ports existing before their time. Entire networks of waterways destroyed. This comment section is not enough to summarise. But yeah let's atleast openly discuss about history so that we don't repeat it.

We all should be able to agree on one script though we may have different languages within India. This would surely integrate all languages. Also if Sanskrit script is followed then that would pave the way for highest knowledge of the self. But all regional people should agree to this because this would mean a lot in computerization commonly and has ever so many advantages without losing the ancient texts in one's own language. People should understand a Rose is a Rose in whatever name you call it. Similarly glory of any of the Indian languages would not diminish if script that can unify is adopted.

I am not making it up go and see the university language in japan and Germany or type in chrome which language they study in the higher course. #AskAbhijit With many languages spread throughout India, how to have a connecting language through out India. a) Should Sanskrit be used in different states with their respective scripts, ex Sanskrit in Bengali, Oriya, Malyalam script in their respective states etc. b) Should Sanskrit be used using Latin script? c) Should Sign Language and modified Braille script be used for this ? (Not using sanskrit or any other language in this case) What are your thoughts on these suggestions?

The present judicial system though it boasts as one of the best in the world, does not give justice equally thi everyone. One who is rich employs would lawyers who fig deep into archives of not only Indian penal code but also refer British penal code night end up giving injustice. Also it is said to note that lawyers sooner occupy most political and administrative positions whereas fight growth of a country industries, engineers, agriculturists, businessmen, educationists, economists etc.. are required more and more. Even now or age old systems work wonders in some areas where people accept and adhere to these systems for which and equitable justice that differs not involve costs but is administered by village elders who follow traditions. Iam not naming these areas since our human rights discuss would spoil the good there is.

I would agree with most of the statements you made. The British came to India because we were the richest nation on the planet at the time and they systematically plundered the country without any mercy or consideration for the local Indian population. Now the British not only have forgotten their colonial atrocities but strangely expect us to be grateful to them for the looting and havoc they caused in India. Sanskrit should be revived and made the national language of of India and not Hindi to be fair to all Indians in terms of both acceptance and the sacrifices we all have to make ( to share the burden equally among us) in order to make our ancient divine language great again and take pride in it.

Wealth of Mughal India was held disproportionately by the elites. The common people were not much better off than they were hundreds of years before that. Also it is likely that in the 1600s and early 1700s, the average British person was wealthier than the average person in India. By the 1600s Europe was undoubtedly at the forefront of technology globally. Steel from Europe was imported to India to create "firangi swords". Recall that just several centuries prior, India was famed for creation of Wootz steel, prized throughout the world. But by 1600s India no doubt fell far behind the others. Mughal India made significant use of European or Turkish mercenaries and relied on their technology. But in general pretty much everyone was poor before the industrial revolution.

Our civilisation is capable of going the right way. What I despise about English is how it makes us feel insecure about ourselves, and hurts our confidence. South Korean, Chinese, European countries like France, Germany, Italy, they are doing fine economically without english.
