Okay, the Coconut Mall one had me HOWLING with laughter! The similarity in the Club Penguin theme is strikingly there! I guess you could say that I was Coconut Mall'd! 😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think if you speed the Chemical Facility theme from Goldeneye 64 to 2x speed it sounds a lot like Chemical Plant Zone from Sonic 2. Side note to the Castlevania III/Thriller connection, in the episode of _Captain N: the Game Master_ called “The Most Dangerous Game Master”, Captain N has to race an opponent through Dracula’s Castle from Castlevania and the song used for the race was a cover of Thriller. Incidentally on home video, the song is replaced with an instrumental piece that’s clearly modeled on Beat It.
Ironically, World Championship Wrestling also sampled the song that was sampled in number 8 as Raven's theme. They also sampled Smells Like Teen Spirit which was used as DDP's theme called Self High Five.
The TvTropes page "Suspiciously Similar Song" used to be called "The Jimmy Hart Version" until TvTropes was systemically sterilized of almost all personality and culture.
5:55 We got Coconut Malled! 😱 7:25 I didn't know Shantae was a fan of Charlie & The Chocolate Factory. 8:30 Why does this song sounds like Ridley's theme song from Super Metroid?
You gotta do a video on Dragon Ball Xenoverse. The composer for Budokai went down from plagarism and the new guys proceeded to keep up his legacy without people noticing. They're in the realms of legality, but not so subtle you can't tell. Except for the Ultra Instinct Goku DLC trailer for X2. That is literally just E1M1. They're only safe because if Bobby Prince pulls the trigger, it's also pulled on him and id/Zenimax/Bethesda/Microsoft by several bands. That said, "Ultra Instinct Goku = Doom Slayer" is an awesome complement to Doom Slayer's power.
Excellent video as always. Castlevania 3 with Thriller never occurred to me either, but it’s there. Can’t remember if you covered these already or not, but here are two more. Rikuo’s theme from DarkStalkers 2 with 808 State’s “Pacific 202” Jetta’s theme from Eternal Champions Sega CD with Praga Khan’s “Injected with a Poison”

About that Castlevania 3 riff, it is very very close to another Michael Jackson song, « Don’t stop ‘til you get enough » from Off the wall. Listen to the bridge at 2’41 !
I’m convinced both Club Penguin and Mario Kart Wii must’ve sampled this from somewhere. Even way back when I first played MK Wii, that tune sounded familiar to me, though I’ve never been able to pin down why. Speaking of Club Penguin… the main theme from Elite Penguin Force is flat-out lifted from Pendulum’s "Propane Nightmares". And speaking of Pendulum, their song "Granite" seems to have been very heavily inspired by Mario World’s castle music (there’s a couple good mashups of the SSBB version + Granite on RU-vid). _.....Aaaaaand_ in turn, speaking of Mario… well, just have a listen to the guitar solo from Iced Earth’s "Desert Rain" & compare it with the underground theme from the first Super Mario Land. It’s pretty much a straight sample, but they didn’t bother giving credit. >_> 11:36 I’m a little surprised you didn’t point out that this is basically Elec Man _ yet again._ XD Seriously, how many goddamn times is this same freakin’ melody gonna come up??
Speaking of Fire Emblem, parts of the song "Verdane Castle Town" sounds almost exactly like the opening riff of "Prince Ali" from Disney's Aladdin. It's also one of those songs where it's very apparent that the music for Fire Emblem and Paper Mario are composed by the same team.
Might be because both soundtracks are done by Richard Jacques but I compared Sega Saturn Sonic 3D, Green Grove Act 1 to Metropolis Street Racer song "It Doesn't Really Matter" by TJ Davis and I'm picking up a similar beat from both.
"I doubt the decelopers at Capcom were watching Nukem Hi" With how much of Street Fighter 2 is cribbed from existing pop culture* I would be surprised at this being a coincidence. *But we love them for it, at least I do.
Hi there, @uncannyx! You are very cool to make this video! Could you make a part where both the "In The Name of Bern" theme from "Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade" and the "Mermaid Falls" theme from "Shantae: Half-Genie Hero" sound similar in traits to each other? Could you also give it to your video?
The Street Fighter one - I can fully believe this is intentional. Such as Ken's Stage theme sounding like Mighty Wings from Top Gun and Guile's Stage theme sounding like Eye of the Tiger from Rocky. The Castlevania one - I was in a videogame cover band which I recently left, they have a Halloween show coming up and when I was still in the band I suggesting mashing up Thriller with this tune (like we did a mashup of Guile's Stage and Eye of the Tiger).
Eyyy, so i dunno if its really similar but, one of the songs from Emerald Dragon (X68000 version) called After the Fight sounds a lot like For endless fight from Megaman Zero.
I love the song called Thriller by Michael Jackson it my favorite childhood song that makes me smile and happy so they put on castlevania 3 stage 1 thank you uncanny x .😊❤😂
@Uncanny X i highly recommend checking out the arena war theme from gta 5 and compare it to the song jump by van halen because they sound almost exactly the same
Gotta do an oddly familiar segment on Ryu’s SF6 Theme “Viator” (1:15) and Average White Band “Pick up the Pieces” (1:12). I hear it every single time 😅. Keep up the amazing work!
Glad to see one of my submissions make it again! I can't wait to see the others I've made. I can make a list if you need. I know I made some mashups too.
I made a playlist called Oddly Familiar on my channel for you to use. Here's a few I haven't made videos for yet. Tekken 1 - Select Theme / Car Wash - Rose Royce Home Alone Genesis - Old House / Papa Don't Preach - Madonna Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Ending Theme / Corazon Encadenado - Camilo Sesto
@@uncannyxCompare the Captain Commando theme from Marvel vs Capcom to Cyclops theme from Marvel vs Street Fighter; the Commando theme sounds like a remix of the Cyclops theme.
I never made the Castlevania/Michael Jackson connection either. I love Thriller, and I love and own Castlevania III (but I prefer to play the Japanese version). Just like you, Ive heard both of them thousands of times, so youre not alone
The shop theme in Black Tiger, for some reason, starts the sax solo from The Heat Is On 26 seconds into it. The funny part of it, you are only in the shop for a max of 25 seconds before the game kicks you out.
