I would be down for having the show renewed for at least one more season, but if this really is where it ends, at least what we did get was still fun and enjoyable. Plus, it ended with a reference to how the events of the game started. Love those kinds of references.
there are things that stood out to me about S3 1. is it me, or where the King Dice episodes from S2 & S3 swapped? 2. i thought Chalice's origin would have been different, as she already acted more adult in the show & in the games (based on her Super III and some background statues) she was a ancient spear wielding hero, i thought the show would lean into a origin like that
For #1: Yeah, now that you mention it; it would make more sense if that was the case... #2: It doesn’t really tie into the game perfectly, but I mean, if it did, Chalice was OLD in the game.
The King dice episodes couldn’t have been swapped but I completely understand what you mean. King dices episode in season 3 feels completely disconnected from his appearance in season 2 and really doesn’t make that much sense. In the ending of Roll the dice the devil says king dice isn’t his number one anymore but then in release the demons king dice says that he’s still the devils number one but then in Down and out the king dice isn’t the devil’s number one anymore and apparently doesn’t even work for the devil because of his failure in the first season but then why did he still work for the devil in season 2?

In release the demons, _king dice_ refers to himself as the Devil's number one, but the Devil barely pays him any mind during the scene, treating him as no better than his third "finest" demons. Dice's entire goal for the rest of the episode is to reclaim his number one status and, you know, not be obliterated by the Devil. The Devil, though, is shown actively hating and rooting against Dice for his prior failure. It's not until the end of "Down and Out" that the Devil takes Dice back
Season 3 is probably my favorite season. The only episode of the season I wasn’t that big of a fan of was the premiere which I felt what is a pretty weak payoff to the cliffhanger to season 2s ending. I was so happy to see that the devil was utilized much more in this season because he is easily the best character in the show although I do have one problem with him. Throughout almost the entire show the devil was never really taken seriously but it’s only because the show never takes him seriously. We know the devil can be intimidating but the only times he is intimidating is the ending of roll the dice, The ending of special delivery, the flashback in dance with danger and the beginning of the devil and Ms. Chalice. In those four episodes the show takes the devil seriously (well not taking away from his personality) so he’s actually threatening. The show really should’ve made the devil actually threatening more often but even still he’s the best character in the show and somehow more likable than the main characters Anyway I really hope we get a season 4. Season 3 kind of ended on a cliffhanger but also didn’t at the same time so I would be fine if there wasn’t another season but I still really want another one. There’s so much more life left in the show and I think it would be cool for the next season (if there is one) told its own version of the games narrative. Also I just want to say that Cuphead and Mugman definitely should have been on the naughty list and I have no idea why they weren’t. Oh and why did Quadratus give Cuphead chalk to get to hell when he could’ve just told him to take the stairs😂
i really liked season 3 episode 1 but i felt like cuphead saving mugman was too easy. and i wish they would've made the devil more of a feared character, since he's the main antagonist. season 3 was my favorite season though!
@@elayna___ I just didn’t like the devil‘s revenge for a few reasons. I thought it was a weak conclusion to the cliffhanger ending of season 2 mainly because it was solved in one episode and really didn’t feel like as big of a deal as it should have. Part of me already knew it was going to be concluded in the first episode of season 3 because that’s how season 1s cliffhanger was handled but still. Mugman is completely confident that Cuphead will save him and he’s really calm but when he was first kidnapped in the devils pitchfork he was legitimately terrified so it doesn’t really make sense and ya Cuphead actually saving Mugman felt like it was too easy. I also really didn’t find the episode that funny. The devils revenge is probably my least favorite episode of the entire show. I disliked it so much that I didn’t watch the rest of season 3 until a few days later because I was that mad about it😂. I’m glad you like it but personally I’m not a fan
@@theghostwiththemost789 i completely understand!! i don't understand why mugman started off as terrified but ended up happy in hell. it really felt out of character. they could've made the devil torture mugman more to make the devil seem like more of a feared character and all cuphead had to do to go to hell was go to quadratus and then read some silly words on a piece of chalk. i didn't really like that honestly- in the devils pitchfork ending they really made it seem like a huge deal that mugman was being taken, but honestly in the show it wasn't. because he was saved within the first episode and then it was never mentioned again. and i felt like it was a missed opportunity to add vile mugman (from the game) to the episode. especially since it's been foreshadowed throughout the show. it really felt off that it wasn't added
I do like your point about Mugman defying physics of not boiling because he's certain cuphead will rescue him, however this could also be a joke about Mugs! Mugman is a mug (duh), and those bad boys are inoculated to withstand heat (A coffee mug can withstand heat as high as 3,000°F!), So it makes sense that he's alright.
In Sweater Luck Next Time it was shown they ain’t impervious to heat Edit: if it’s because maybe it was less hot in literal Hell, but the Devil himself was sweating
The last scene of the final episode is the start of the game, would be kinda cool IF season 4 is a walk trough memory lane in the game... But oh well...
I love how they made the Devil have more human moments, but still make him undeniably evil through how he does things for either through greed, pride, or just attention to where if the Devil has nothing to gain, he is not doing anything good or reasonable.
I was waiting the whole video for you to mention something about King Dice and I’m glad that my same thoughts were what you ended with. This song has to be my favorite in the Cuphead Show and has made me listen to it many times now. He truly was a great character.
I have an episode idea- It’s called “Potty Mouth.” It basically starts off with Cuphead and Mugman BEGGING Elder Kettle to get ice cream. Once Cuphead bribed him, he agrees. They get their ice cream, and as they’re walking along Cuphead trips. Once his vision focuses on his destroyed Ice cream cone, [BLEEP!] Cuphead instantly covers his mouth, and Mugman runs to tell Elder Kettle. (Yk, Sibling love-) CH instantly stops MM in his tracks. CH temps MM to not tell elder kettle by telling MM he’ll do anything Using those words, MM drags CH around making CH do whatever MM wants for the day. First, hey go to the movies to watch a movie about romance. Obviously CH is unamused, but MM is wiping his tears and blowing his nose. Next, they ride the Tandem bike, but CH does ALL the petaling. Once MM tells him to petal faster, He does so willingly. But, within 2 seconds of CH’s fast petaling, they see a huge hill. CH ignores it, but MM is freaking out. They fall down the hill, crash the bike, and MM falls off. CH is unharmed. Once MM gets back up CH says: “So, ready for somethin’ else?” MM: “Uh.. yeah! Just gotta think of something first..” CH: “Oh sureeee! Take your time!” As MM has his back turned, thinking, CH runs away. MM grabs him by the handle and yanks him back. The MM gets the idea to tie CH to a leash. MM’s holding onto the end. Once MM knows what to do, he BOLTS to his next destination. CH is being dragged, and keeps violently face planting in the dirt, screaming for MM to slow down. They stop at a hotdog stand. Cuphead thinking this wasn’t so bad, he lets Mugman know what he wants. But, Mugman only buys himself a hotdog. Cuphead is furious. He’s been getting dragged by Mugman all day because he said a small swear. But obviously, he couldn’t go off at Mugman, he’d instantly threaten to tell Kettle. So, CH keeps his mouth shut. Way later; Finally, after a day of being dragged around, Mugman and Cuphead are in bed. Mugman is rambling to Cuphead about how fun tomorrow’s gonna be. When MM sits up, he hits his head on the ceiling and [BLEEP!] He instantly regrets it. MM looks down at his brother. CH is looking up and smiling menacingly at MM. MM says: “Oh no..” and then the episode ends I haven’t come up with anything else that they’re gonna do together, but if anyone has ideas please let me know
ok hear me out - we see the devil, wondering what happened to his incredibly evil image, and then bowlboy comes in and is just generally unhinged. The spoon that came with the devil's pitchfork falls into bowlboy's hands after he is shown with it after he was kicked out. Then, we cut to mugman, wandering on his own for once, trying to have his own adventure. Then, we show him slowly starting to get mad at things, showing his insane side. bowlboy appears, and gives mugman a tip: 'being crazy? HA! just do it, mugman, DO IT!!!'. QUE THE MONTAGE!!!!!!!!!(of mugman getting mad at life) AND we get to see mugman finally say yes to UNLIMITED POWEEEEEERRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, we get a second montage, and you decide the rest.

Finn, you are a national treasure! I love hearing your voice, listening to the little songs you make, and hearing your thoughts on Cuphead. And since you like reviewing movies, TV shows, etc. I think you'd like to hear my opinion on cuphead season 3, if you look at season 3 from the perspective of a 13 year old such as myself, if you think about it, it's really just part 2 to season 2 just with some of the things season 2 never gave us. These include the cup bros showing more love for each other, a backstop for chalice, Sally Stageplay putting on a show, Chalice's backstory, and King Dice finally getting to sing a song!

I liked the final episode in season 3 too tbh, I just wished they could’ve put more bosses in it,like dr. Khal and his robot and Hilda berg didn’t really get their own episodes
I’m glad this show has such a great fandom, although I don’t see as much on RU-vid I just hope this’ll be one of the fandoms that has good content and sticks around long after the franchise ends, one of my favorite fandoms that kinda died was Steven universe along with ones I don’t even remember there being a fandom for that new she ra, it’s sad
This comment is from another Cuphead Season 3 review & my thoughts mostly stayed the same People have problems with how Chalice is handled here, but honestly, I actually liked how Chalice was handled, since i feel like her extra time going along with the Cup Bros & their bullshit makes their friendship feel more believable, making those last 3 episodes hit a little harder. So while i understand the critics of Chalice in this video, i can't really say i agree with them. As for Cuphead himself... Good god, they dropped the ball so hard... This season could've been the one where Cuphead actually faces the consequences of his actions, as well as see how Cuphead can handle situations without Mugman bailing his ass out of said situations (Which is something i really like in the Baroness Von Bon Bon episode, where the first thing on Cuphead's head after meeting the crazy bitch is to turn his back & start leaving... By his own accord!), It would've been so interesting to see Cuphead adapt, as well as breakdown whenever he fails at something because now, he wouldn't have Mugman to help him out... (This could've even been a way to make Elder Kettle more involved by him learning about The Devil's connection with his kids & actually try to comfort & help Cuphead instead of having a really bad joke in the beginning of the S3 premiere) So seeing Cuphead not only get Mugman back on the FIRST episode of the season, as *well* as learning NOTHING from his experiences makes me ask myself *"What was the point of the S2 finale"?* Because it felt like it was building up to something so much more, especially since The Devil is no longer a threat to him. Speaking of which, The Devil is part of the problem. Ya'know the old saying *"A hero is only as good as their villain"?* Well, what do you think would happen if the villain is *so* not being taken seriously to the point that even the villain themselves doesn't take themselves seriously?... Easy answer, the Hero will be on the same page. Because of how The Devil doesn't get to enjoy being The Devil anymore, to the point where it doesn't even feel right having them as the big bad since the show makes it look like they don't wanna do it anymore. (outside of the Devil vs Chalice arc in the end) Because of that, any potential tension between Cuphead & The Devil is now non-existent since the latter is never taken seriously now, which makes getting invested on this dynamic very difficult. Also, I'm sorry, what was that about the *"Finders keepers"* bullshit with the Pitchfork? Cause the S2 Finale implies that The Devil *lost* his right to use the Pitchfork once Cuphead took it, as well as how earlier in that same episode, a review mentioned how they should *"find a new devil"* or something like that... Why not go *that* route instead? Why not have Cuphead keep the Pitchfork for a while longer & by extension, make the Devil force Cuphead to do some *"special work"* so that he can get Mugman back? Oh & speaking of Mugman, he's also part of the problem. What the hell happened to his horrified expression from the S2 finale? How the fuck did he go from *that* to *"Eh, I'll be fine. Cuphead will come for me soon enough"* in less than an in-universe day's time?! The dude is in hell, yet is acting without a single care in the world despite how much of a 180 it is compared to his reaction when he actually got kidnapped? (Oh & sidenote, that comment from him about *"If Cuphead isn't in hell, then he isn't dead"* in the premiere doesn't really help either). Here's an idea. Have Mugman feel a bit tense about being in Hell (like he should've), but confident that Cuphead will save him... But then The Devil tries to make Mugman think otherwise. It doesn't work at first, but then The Devil could mention how much of an ass Cuphead is & use the bad stuff he did in S2 as a way to back up his claims, including how Cuphead could just replace Mugman again. This in-turn would make The Devil much more of a threat since he's trying to manipulate Mugman into hating his brother for how he treated him... & It's kinda working... But nope! All of it is treated like a joke, Mugman is taken back in the premiere & Cuphead learns jackshit, making the entirety of season 2 (especially the finale) essentially worthless! Look, i know this show is meant to be a comedy & an homage to old rubberhose cartoons, but if you're gonna try to make something actually serious within the show to give it more depth, go through it! Don't just stop halfway through for the sake of comedy... Especially since the jokes with the Devil in this season aren't even that funny to begin with.

Season 3 is Truly Great from the backstory of Ms.Chalice to the hilarious moments with Cuphead and Mugman and the hilarious moments the Devil being hilarious portraying a Cat to the Christmas episode A Very Devil Christmas making it the best Christmas Episode in recent years making it wholesome and delightful
I'm really hoping for another season. Like we played the games, but I feel like they could do more if they adapted the games' events into the show. The show is fantastic and I want more. That's pretty much it in the end honestly haha.
I just feel that that ending casino shot means something, maybe a movie that has all the missing bosses in and we get the game, even in short form. Also I think a great thing the show can do is go into how Elder Kettle became Cuphead and Mugman's guardian, like where are their parents, did they fall victim to the Devil or are they living on another isle because they didn't want their boys to have to go through any hardships? Or maybe they're spirits trapped by the Devil or on the Phantom Express. If this hype for the show keeps up then maybe Netflix will actually listen to fans and greenlight season 4? Heck if they go the route of Cuphead and Mugman's parents being souls taken by the Devil it could show how ruthless he really is, keeping their souls in exchange for theirs, and the boys refuse even if it meant they'd get to see their parents again. And what if he knew all along that he had Cuphead and Mugman's parents souls and just didn't bother telling the boys until he had Cuphead(and probably Mugman's soon after) soul. Elder Kettle's war back story, plus Legendary Chalice's back story could also be explored(is Ms. Chalice destined to be The Legendary Chalice, was that her mom, or is Ms. Chalice the reincarnated Legendary Chalice after a war that ended in her death) Plus Saltbaker's a fan favorite from the Delicious Last Course, imagine him and Devil working together with that Wondertart. While I totally understand if Season 3 is the end all for Cuphead and everyone on Inkwell Isle, I still want to hope that the love people have for the characters, show, and game will breathe life into another season.

I’m kinda thinking of what if Netflix could make a movie based on the cuphead show that is probably if possible the true finale of the cuphead show franchise that follows the present of how inkwell isles is like how the devil is running the casino and trying to get more souls and possibly finished with the cup trio and maybe King Dice sings Roll The Dice again and possibly the devil encounters cuphead, Mugman and chalice again which led to him getting tired of them which he could team up with the new boss of cuphead Chef Saltbaker to help and all the other evil villains the cups have encountered such As Baroness Von Bon Bon, maybe the root pack idk, Werner Werman and hopefully other bosses from the games and even reference the devils song but this time the full song. So the trio has to defeat the devil and his massive army from either taking their souls if he still can or killing them and taking over inkwell isles. So cuphead forms his own army which led to this final battle and I will even include elder kettle since he was a war hero. Eventually all this was a scam so the devil could get all the souls in inkwell isles even the baddies then the bosses decided to defeat the devil since he was scamming them which led to the epic final battle where god, quadratus and all powerful gods or whatever, give cuphead his own powerful pitchfork to help defeat the devil. Eventually cuphead manages to defeat the devil. The residents of inkwell isles won the battle and eventually the devil could no longer take any person’s soul due to cuphead shooting the devil and destroying the casino which means all souls are free and then cuphead says that it’s over and the devil decides it is time to explain why he was evil in the first place and the reason is because he was forced to by his family then there’s a backstory of the devil. Then cuphead encourages the devil that he does not have to be evil anymore and can live a good life being a normal and helpful guy and the devil admits he’s right and all was forgiven. So the devil lives a normal life transformed to a good person and cuphead, mugman, chalice and everybody in inkwell isles living a happy life. The End.
i really hope therell be a season 4, with cuphead going into the devils casino (if thats not a one off joke) they could adapt the actual game into cartoon form which sounds really cool in my opinion
6:26 personally I don’t like that. During the ending of the devils pitchfork when the devil kidnapped Mugman he looked genuinely scared but then in the devils revenge (the very next episode) when he is literally in hell about to be tortured he’s just Vibing? Wtf
finn you have to admit the hobby of model trains is fun and exciting from how people turn their homes and gardens into model railroads. i am happy the devil has become a model train lover as he will have one heck of a time designing a massive train layout.
The issues you just said there, Finn are the same reason why we don't get anymore seasons of this show. Netflix and scrapping show ideas, if the whole Netflix issue didn't happen (and they paying respect to other artists from other shows too), perhaps this season would've lasted one more season later on like a S2 and a S3. They wanted to make this finale, and although they had good ideas for those characters plot potencials as you mentioned, that was before they knew about the time crotch Netflix issue. So they had no way to go, unless just forget about those things.. Who knows, maybe l'm wrong about this and the problem is something else. Regardless, it was an enjoyable good lasted sip of this good tea from a cup 😌😌
The Devil being captivated by the train reminds me of Phineas and Ferb Across the second dimension when 2nd dimension Dr.D is so much better at evil cuz he lost his train "Choo Choo" as his emotionally scaring backstory.And in the episode going back to the second dimension when 2nd dimension Charlene snatches Choo Choo from him and throws it off the balcony is how all his evil returns.

I’m so SORRY for her. Honestly, her death was so sudden. And then BATMAN singing dance across the rainbow. This season is the best. Also, Chalice dying will haunt me. Cuphead dealing Chalice’s life, his SOUL, what the devil was wanting this whole time, and Mugsy, is #1 End of season 3, I was like, YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! LET’S GOOOOOOOOOO! Maybe they could make a spin-off.
I am not really a person that over-analize things in series, most things just fly over my head, but I can say that the one thing that I did have a problem with season three was the lack of new bosses Like- I know it's "the end" but at least one new face we recognize would have made it a ton lot of better! If you ask me that is
