The guitar loop consists of 35 sixteenth notes. At first she divides them into 5x7, then 7x5 (when you started counting) and afterwards she plays a straight 4/4 over it, meaning the loop gets successively displaced. 🙌🏻

@@TheGhostNotePodcast Well, you wanted to know 😅 Later in the video (5:06) she switches to triple meter and after that she goes back to 4/4, albeit in halftime-feel, both result again in displacement of the loop. It's basically a study in metric modulation, though the underlying pulse never changes.

Thanks for reacting to this. I've been following Camille for a while, and this performance is next level. I wished she had more eyes on her. She really deserves recognition in the wider drumming community. Absolutely world class drummer.

Dude. Check out the greatest rhythm section of all time. It was in what scholars call The Second Great Quintet of Miles Davis. The drummer Tony Williams, the bassist Ron Carter, and the pianist Herbie Hancock all play in different time signatures to each other. There is nothing else like it in the history of music going back centuries.

@@TheGhostNotePodcast it can be kinda lol. Ya I think ur 7 count is just fitting 7 into 5 if that makes sense. Which is how I'd do that.i admit it hurt my head especially with 7 in my head. Maybe I'm wrong tho. Someone else will fact check it lol
