Technically the best controller would (now this is theoretical) would be one with gakecube notches aligned to the soft drifting angles, a large a button since its a lot more comfortable to press and a small b button, and 4 back buttons mapped to the d-pad inputs for the 4 directions, and no motion sensor. Now i know there is likely not a controller like this on the market but if you all are wondering this would in theory be the best mk8dx controller. Have an amazing day whoever reads this
That’s exactly the best controller. If only that existed. If you aren’t using a GameCube controller a more comfortable thing you can do is hold Y instead of A to accelerate.
@@HollowPass I find that this is good controller at a low level too because learning to soft drift is such an easy thing that anyone can do it by just practicing while playing.
@Soeri00 hey man! Glad to hear you’re going to start making mk8d videos! I use canva to make thumbnails (I use the desktop app but you could also use the web version) and here are a few tips. If you’re background image doesn’t have much significance then use the blue effect a bit and turn the saturation down ever so slightly. This will make the text and other images (like the arrow and controller in this videos thumbnail) pop out way more. I’d also recommend use the outline test effect on a simple font for a clean look on all your text. And I know, this sounds very “Amongus 2020” videoish, but big red arrows are actually really good. They draw people’s attention from one element to another. Usually I put the arrow pointing from the text to what ever the text is talking about. If you already know a bit of graphic design this should be really easy for you. Hope this helps and I’ll drop a sub on your channel so I can watch your videos when they come out. You got this my homie!
@@Gnawy Thank you so much man! Really appreciate it. This is actually not my main account, but I will post my video’s on @ClofrMK. Thanks for the tips!
I don't agree with the spectra being the best because 3rd party controllers tend to have pretty bad quality control issues, even if they're licensed. Haven't tried the spectra in particular but the power a controllers I have feel kinda cheap and the stick feels impercise (I play a lot of smash and my inputs felt really off on it) and my friend had 3 from them (one of them being their more expensive fusion) and they all ended up breaking within a year or 2. The power a might be good for the price and maybe if you're looking to get the best bang for your buck but there are definitely better options that might be more expensive but feel nicer and won't break as quick. Off the top of my head, any xbox controller can work with an adapter and won't have motion glider.
My experience with Power A has been spot on except for the fact that on one of mine (their cheapest controller from 2019) the cord broke. I find their sticks one of the best features and the quality controller seem to be good from what I've experienced/heard and if you get a bad one you can always just return it. An Xbox controller is a really neat idea thought. Maybe I'll make a video on that. Who knows 🤷♂
@@Plague_Doctor2030 thanks man. Ig RU-vid’s translate isn’t that good after all lol. The thing is, my videos are referring to Mario Kart only so if you don’t want the tiniest of optimizations and you already have a GameCube controller than it’s still a really good controller for Mario Kart, just not quite as good as the spectra.
Honestly you’ll do fine with any controller as long as you find it comfortable to pay with. These are just small optimizations that don’t matter that much.
@@Gnawy LMAO I just realised I actually already have one of the right controllers... Its just that I havent been playing on the doc recently so I was only using joycons
@@pannenkoeksus it is better imo. For some people it would be better to use the GC controller. Whatever feels the best to play with us what you’ll do your best with so just use that.
motion gliding with a normal controller is 100000000x harder that soft drifting with normal controller. Tell me without capping that pausing and unpausing the game and then having to hold a perfect angle on both motion controls and the left stick and then pausing and unpausing the game again is harder than pushing the left stick at certain point. Also soft drifting doesn't have to be perfect. Even if you're turning a little sharper than perfect it still saves time and it's way easier than learning to motion glide on a normal controller. You're just salty that you don't have the best controller but you don't really need to. These are tiny optimizations and at the end of the day a pair of joy-cons in the hands of a good player is better than a spectra, or a pro controller, or a GC controller in the hands of a new player.
@@Victinitotodilepro "skill issuing" 💀 and also keeping your hands needed to have motion controls on and still is really hard but possible it's just that if you mess up once, you're cooked but if you mess up a soft drift once you're just not drifting quite as optimal. It sounds like you're still just malding.
@@Victinitotodileprosoft drifting will be affected negatively if you keep motions on because even if you hold your controller firmly, drift angle would be slightly altered because the game will pick up on even the slightest movement. This is all just opinion and comfort, so you can use any controller you want, really. Gnawy isnt saying: IF YOU DONT USE THE CONTROLLER I SAY, YOU WILL BE EXECUTED😭
