I can't boycott something that I never drank in the first place

I heard Bud Light's facilities were all struck by meteorites last night. The based blue collar workers left after being warned by an angel the HR representatives wanted to put through sensitivity training. Sadly one of them looked back and was turned into a pillar of salt.

I hope the Bud Light boycott has a real impact not on AB itself, but on Bud Light drinkers moving to a better beer.

Seems like the whole thing is viral outside of social media and is self-sustaining. Even if someone has zero awareness of social media, All it takes is one person showing one picture to make people reconsider their purchase. Bud Light has a mascot named Dylan now, and that's not going to change anytime soon.

I don't know what the damage is but what I do know is that everytime I go to the store the blue and red boxes are pilling up, it's pretty insane. The beer is clearly not selling.

I think the difference here is the peer pressure angle. With other boycotts its easy to not participate because no one ultimately keeps track of what products you buy. But beer is consumed in public and with friends and people are being mocked for buying the trans beer. That's why the boycott has legs. Whether or not it lasts long term remains to be seen.

This is why I cancelled my Twitter account. Everybody's so busy trying to "own" the other side that they're just shitposting false articles and looking like idiots while doing so. People need to spend more time productively and not screwing around with people they've never met that they hate on social media.

The Bud Light Boycott really surprised me. I have a weekly tennis group I play with on the weekends, and ALL of them were roasting Bud Light, I talking like 12-15 guys. Politics never came up with that group before, I had no idea lol.

I work in a grocery store. I have checked sales on bud since the boycott. The boycott is real where I live and it's worse then I thought it would be. I am in a fairly red suburban area with alot of working class beer drinkers. Last week I talked to the beer rep and he didn't seem too worried about it but that could just be hopeful thinking or the talking points his boss told him to use.

More of this. Balanced takes, that is. And the humor was nice too.

What I found surprising is the fact a beer that's 'lite' is popular. I remember a time when being 'lite' was a reason not to drink it. It was suppose to taste like water.

If all this does is convince people to give local breweries a chance and some business then mission accomplished. As it is AB is in panic mode.

So I did see fully stocked Bud Light at my local Walmart. I don't know necessarily what that means: either it was stocked recently, or folks didn't purchase much on that particular day. I will continue to be a teetotaler; I don't drink any alcohol because I don't like the taste. Still, the bad publicity makes me skeptical about buying Anheuser-Busch stock anytime soon.

Lauren, I'm sorry to say but yes, I do think you got this one wrong and you underestimated the will of the people. And while you were right to doubt them due to the failures of past boycotts and the fact that this probably won't mean much in the long term, this one got big enough that people took notice and did something about it and actually cared for once. Also, I must say this as a fan of yours, but I really don't like this path you've gone down in the past year or so where you feel you have to call out every person who you feel ever wronged you or even disagreed with you. It's petty and childish and makes you look bad and unserious in my opinion, along with the "I just CARE so much about the issues young people have with getting jobs!!!" which just shows your lack of understanding of how real work, well, works. Just get back to the real issues and enough with the drama already.

I don't see how your statements in the previous video were wrong. Even if the coors lite VP is removed or if there are changes to marketing that still has little impact on the parent company. I saw a video of the VP stating that sales were already falling and that her job was to fix it. Fixing it meant finding new demographic to market to. At least that was her thinking. Maybe this was some AI working its magic and not her true words. I was against the church ladies calling to get Howard Stern removed. I was against the first crowd cancellation I knew of, which was that lady making a joke while she flew to assist people in Africa. Only to have the joke taken out of context and lose her job and be publicly ostracized. I am against cancelling this VP for trying to find a new market for coorslite. For now, the only place I put my dislike is to the politicians that knowingly incite division just to keep and build a power base for themselves and those that actively try to mold the minds of our youth towards their own personal beliefs. This includes college professors. Opening up the minds of kids/young adults is good and both liberal and conservative ideals should be taught.

Apparently everyone but Lauren is aware that not only did the VP of Marketing for Bud Lite take a leave of absence, but so did the VP of Global Marketing for the Mainstream division of Anheuser-Busch, and that these leaves of absence were *not voluntary*. They will not be back. They're done. This info was available this morning.

It may be having an impact, but as I said on the first video, the main problem is people will eventually become complacent or cave in and just start supporting AB again. The only way to actually have an impact is to _stick with it_ which I doubt will happen. Ultimately whether you're right or wrong, the fact that we are too quick to believe news that agrees with our opinion is a truth most of us needed to hear, me included.

If I drank Bud Light, having that clown advertising it would not cause me to change my drinking habits. On the other hand, if a woman, I would cease to buy Nike products because they used that breastless character to model sports bras. I have never bought a bra, sports or otherwise, but I imagine for a woman who exercises, a comfortable, well fitted bra is important and Nike is mocking and disrespecting women. I can't help think all this is a distraction from something more important and all this energy is misdirected. My hopia leads to my short sighted reactions. Life hack: I started drinking Bud light, brought a case to a house party, not a single beer was swiped. Anyone I offered a beer to, declined. Beer etiquette says whatever I don’t drink at the party is left as a thank you for the host. If it’s still there for the next party it can be recovered. Going into my third month of not having to buy new beer.

Are you making a point or talking pointlessly? A boycott would imply that you're applying pressure, hope for corrections and will come back. Just like using a Gillette razor, I'm not coming back. Why support a company that is mocking and hating you. The list is long and growing.

We’re on the same page here, lot of people will believe a article if it’s the outcome they want. I’ve definitely been skeptical af when it comes to online articles, usually I’ll google to see if it’s true and if all the other big news outlets report it the same then I usually assume it’s true but I should check the sources more.

No, stock price means nothing here. ETFs are the most common method by which anyone has exposure to individual stocks today. One of the most common criticisms of the market today is that the entire market is too highly correlated because of ETFs. The stock price of something like Bud is rising and falling with the major indices. What a random fed member says on a given day will have more of an impact on bud's daily stock movement than this boycott

My question about Noble Gold and similar companies is this-is gold and silver are going up in price, and the dollar is crashing, why on earth would they want to sell us their gold for dollars? What da!? I don’t understand this type of *economic issue deeply but it just seems a little odd 🤔

The Bud Light boycott is working because it is organic. Most boycotts fade quickly because they aren't organic and are manufactured.

I have learned the way to happiness. I just stopped caring. Repeated headbutting my garage floor was all it took and my taste, ability to speak clearly, and the sight out of my right eye is all it cost! Good luck people.

The route to victory is not in the share price as most will substitute one AB product for another. The win is internal in AB where the Execs responsible for BudLight look stupid amoung their peers and loose sales bonuses, the other internal brands individuals taking the benefit of product substitution. You don't tend to move a market like this but internally you create the "legend" of stupid execs who blew up a mature product and looked rediculous, and everyone else cashed in at their expense. That would only be partly true but people like to laugh at how dumb some others are. It subconsciously acts as a warning to others not to play too far with progressive nonsense, even beyond the actual impact.

Many of my local Wally worlds and other retailers are putting Bud light alternatives by the pallet up by the registers on endcaps etc. I don't know if the boycott is working but the rest of the beer companies are getting lots of new free add space...
