Best at being a horrible person
@mmj9395
@mmj9395 4 года назад
Phenomenal teammate as it relates to the game itself, but a horrible person as it relates to the way he treated his teammates, and that is exactly why the GOAT, and he is the GOAT, was breaking down crying and calling for a break when they were asking him about it. His level of competitiveness was/is at a level that perhaps no one in the history of all sports has ever equalled, simultaneously being his greatest strength as an athlete and teammate and his greatest weakness as a person. He didn't want friends, he wanted champions and to be a champion, because that is why you play. He did it at all costs, within the rules of the game, and it probably cost him a lot of genuine friendships over the years. It came at a tremendous cost. Something that he said in one of the earlier episode's about his gambling situation that was EXTREMELY significant: "I don't have a gambling problem, I have a competition problem." That statement pretty much says it all.
@RickGrimes807

@@RickGrimes807 No, it appears he is an amazing person in may respects - he seems to be very philanthropic without boasting about it and it seems he always made extra time for kids, especially less fortunate and disabled kids, during his playing career, among many other things; that is why I said he was a "horrible person as it relates to the way he treated his teammates."

Can you imagine if he had social media and anyone who would talk bad about him would light even a crazier competitive Michael. Everyone is saying averaging 40 but 50 looks more like it. Even Phil Jackson had to check Michael telling him scoring leaders don't win championships, so he had to tone the scoring down a bit.

Jordan seem to me to be a very demanding teammate. Scott Burrell is a great example of how hard Jordan pushed his teammates, but off the court they seem very friendly toward each other. Like Jordan said if you can't take it then you might not want to be apart... Burrell understood ... even Jordan said he could never get to him. If Jordan was consider to be a tyrant by his teammates then they wouldn't have been happy to see him come back. They were very happy.

I guess it must be against the law to say anything against Jordan, people are just eating this stuff up. It's funny to me that the thing Jordan admires about himself is the one thing he does not like about anybody else. That is the win at all cost mentality. He hates Isiah, but Isiah was that way. That's why he was disliked so much. If you don't kiss his butt, he has a problem with you. Bye Mike
@dnice4145
@dnice4145 4 года назад
Why do you couch your position, with some straw man argument about not being allowed to hold a negative opinion of MJ. There are plenty of negative opinions about MJ out there even those specific to this topic. I dont believe MJ ever explicitly said he doesn't like the way Isaiah Thomas led his team, how would he really know? He hated the way they played dirty and for walking off the court in 91 etc. There is no contradiction here.
@Indycliff1
@Indycliff1 4 года назад
@@dnice4145 Well if there is I haven't seen or heard them, but if that's cool. He did say that he respected his game, but still hated him. The pistons did not play dirty, what they did was within the rules of the game at that time, and they were not the only ones playing that style of basketball. Most of the eastern conference played a physical style of basketball. And so what they didn't shake his hand, get over it. As Isiah said, Boston walked off the same way when the pistons beat them, and nobody said a word, but because Mike got his feelings hurt it became a big deal. Oh, and let's not forget the comments MJ made about the pistons not deserving to be champions, and that nobody outside of Detroit would miss them if they lost.
