How could they do that to him, I remember him in National Velvet, it’s a shame, people should never abuse their elders, Respect is all that’s required.
I saw it myself, but at the time didn't know what was truly going on. Jan wanted fame and attention and used Mickey to get it. Just not the fame she was looking for.
Bless his heart I pray nothing but the best For him, seems like a Pleasant man,he was A great actor I loved Seeing him and Judy Garland act together When I was a little girl. How can people be so cruel, hear's to you Big guy❤️
God bless him.....I am so sorry he went threw this......I will never let my mom and dad go threw this.....I will support them like you needed that.....love you always you were one of my favorite movie stars growing up
Elder abuse makes me cry. Many people who are capable of elder abuse do not see the person deep down inside who was once 20 or 23. All they see is a misshapen and vulnerable creature. Most of these elderly people were hard workers. Even now I look at my sisters and my partner and how kind and sweet they all are, and how maybe one day I might have to have someone vouch for their safety due to elder abuse. I hope it never happens. Same with my parents, I hope it never happens.
I remember him and Jan doing commercials together where he’d start and she’d finish. I told my dad then she’s abusing him and using his notoriety for money. Rest Joe, rest.

Watching MICKEY ROONEY on screen ANDY HARDY it is hard to believe he is gone now but he was strong in.mind to help himself Why would anyone do that the punk SUN and foxy wife. A shame. Poor MICKEY.
interesting. he has made more movies in cinema history than any one else in Hollywood. He was box office king for 3 years. good thing I know the truth, Mickey Rooney is a handsome, talented, enthusiastic and a wonderful person. I'm a film historian and the man was one of the most popular people of all time. way before you were even thought of. Get a life. clearly your just a troll!
I’m in that situation from my boys, I know they love me but, the obsession to control is madddening, once I aged and had two strokes, everything changed, I lost all rights to even have an occasional glass of wine, a treat , like they go to the store but dare I ask for a treat, I didn’t expect them to buy anything for me I always paid, even if it was simple chocolate bar, or just let me go for a ride to get out of the house, I can’t have anyone’s phone number and I get yelled at Olof they catch me usi g the phone, who was I talking too? About what? You said WHAT? ? Sneaking up behind me to see if they catch me taking a treat or snack from the fridge,God help me if I want to go for a short walk, I’m allowed to go in the backyard, wow, when I had my first stroke they would not help me, my sons said well it’s too late , What can they do , three days I had another stroke , they tossed nevin the backseat of the car and finally took me in for help but by now the damage was not good, I’m trying after two years to get my licence back but they sold my car, I was nagged into signing it over to save on doing a will I case I died, so, I did, I lived and they fold my car for a down payment on new trucks for them, now , there is an extra car but my sons girlfriend was given it, I have nothing, they have drained me financially dry, and now I’m so depressed I’m not allowing g any more abuse and they are having fits, I still can’t do much but they can see I’m fighting my way out of this mess and I’m yelling back now, I didn’t before, old age abuse us real snd it hurts, really hurts, if you have your own place like I did rent controlled, don’t give it up cause they need rent money and their promises of a good life for me wentvoutvthscwibfow once sll my money and car were gone, I have nothing left , keep your independence , stay clear of selfish children, grow old on your own I’m only 68 and I Demerara if I hadn’t uprooted my life I’d be so much better off, and not broke, I can’t undo this, I’m sure I’ll have a heart attack by the time they are done with me, sad ending , I feel so bad I didn’t have daughters , who knows, it’s the luck of the draw
Believe every thing you see and hear in this video, It happened to my dad, only thankfully Mickey Rooney was able to break away and get his story out, This is a sad commentary on the Human Race and especially about women, The malignant creatures who did this to Mickey Rooney and the one who did much of the same business to my father were both women and they both some how believed in their convoluted minds that they deserved all of the things that Mickey Rooney and my father owned and worked for, in over a 1/2 century. So much for the apocryphal story of the tender hearted woman loving woman. Which causes me to defecate on the concept of Mother hood and women in general.
The 90 year old actor who starred in over 200 movies and only 18 thousand dollars in his bank account .who was guilty of taking his money and everything he owned including his oscars . What happened folks ,who’s guilty ?
Mickey was a veteran of over 360 movies. The only living actor left of silent movies today. A rich life history of over 90 years.......to end his final years abused by a 'stepson' ? What came of this case?
Oh property owners see what MICKEY ROONEY did you do this for stronger laws to.protect against squatters now do it. He was abused just like you are in a different way he made a law stronger you do the same.
Mickey was an actor his entire life. Longevity doesn't equate to being great. Mickey also took credit for creating the careers of anybody who happened to be in the same room as him at some time - including Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra (and Mickey Mouse). He was a legend in his own mind.
OMG I just watched another video (no comments) . He was with his last wife. She insisted on everything he didn't want and denied him what he did want. Must be the mother of the step-son. Obviously married him for money or prestige, there was no love there.
Well, Mickey Rooney was extremely abusive himself - so it is no surprise that HE was abused also. If he threw things at Jan, yelled at her, etc. It is almost certain that she retaliated in some way. Rooney was a mega bully his entire life. His biological daughter offered to take him into her home many times so he could leave Jan, but Mickey CHOSE to stay with Jan. Let's not forget the decades of adultery in which Mickey was cheating on Jan at every opportunity, including having sex with his own daughter-in-law!
Men want a young "token" wife, but aling with that comes the opportunistic, selfish GOLD DIGGERS. Sadly, he was in his younger days, a womanizer. Imagine cheating on a young Ava Gardner? And she wasn't the first!!! Sadly, in the end, he reaped what he had sown. May God have mercy...he was a great talent, but that won't get you a free ticket to heaven!
I read one account claiming Mickey was the victim; and another account saying it was he who abused Jan! Maybe it was 6 of 1, half a dozen of the other....Incidentally, I fell for Mickey as soon as I saw the film Girl Crazy, when I was 18.
Batty watt: if you investigate deeper into the story you will find the truth Mickey Rooney was the victim, No he was no saint, that is a fact, And who know's how easy he was to live with ? Regardless this woman married him and had a plan all along. Why is her almost middle age son living with them, that's odd ? There is a great video on u tube where Mickey Rooney's daughter is telling the story, And buy the time the end comes Mickey is old and unable to protect him self in any way. All Mickeys children except for his wife's step son who was in on the plan were Not allowed to visit or communicate with Mickey, and they did remove all his I D from his wallet. All these things point to trapping him in the house, abuse and theft. If it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck, 9 times out of 10 it's a duck.
@@richardbartolo2890 When I had a crush on MR, it was so frustrating, waiting ages for TV to show any more of his movies, approx. once in a blue moon! I hope Sainsbury's will still be making their Rainbow cakes in 2022, Judy Garland's centenary year!
He was never washed up and is considered by most of his peers to be the most talented actor to grace the silver screen. What happened to him was when he came back from service during WW2 he couldn't get work because he was deemed difficult to work with. Watch the many movies he did with Judy Garland and tell me Mickey wasn't talented. Envy is a silent killer
