We have this misconception or a mistaken mindset that ancient equals primitive, but it doesn’t. When we look back through history we see civilizations, architecture, even boats that were very advanced.
Join us as we go over some of the lost history in these places and Boyds experience crossing the ocean wondering about the possibilities of Muleks journey from the book of Mormon.
Boyd hoped that the expedition would enable him to gather information for his book, "In the Footsteps of Mulek" in which he seeks to examine the possibility that Israelites from Jerusalem were capable of reaching America by means of Phoenician sailing vessels around 600 BC.

Even if it was possible doesn't mean it happened

Just because you want it to not have happened doesn't mean it didn't.

Well, walking on water isn't possible but it happened. I think that even if we had the golden plates to show you, you probably still wouldn't believe. Because you probably haven't received a witness from the Holy Ghost.

The plausibility is available to cross the Atlantic with a 600 BC ship which had no motor and one sail. What part of that is not cool? That is 2,000 years before Columbus

According to your incomplete and impure Bible there is no such thing as a Western Hemisphere, yet here we are! Ask yourself why! Is it because it isn't sufficient to be a sole source of divinely revealed scripture?

But how did Joseph Smith know it was possible in 1829? How did he know the name Mulek that corresponded to a son of King Zedekiah? A seal belonging to "Mulek son of the king" was found by Israeli archeologists a couple decades ago. Please explain Smith's detailed knowledge of 600 BC civilization in the eastern Mediterranean, since you don't believe that God and angel Moroni showed them to him.

Being an SDA I am facilitated by LDS theology and history as both denominations came from the same era and culture. I do see some similarities, however Adventism developed in a mainstream orthodox faith with some American distinction. The LDS faith, until recently has developed into a unique branch of Christianity. So in many respects Adventism is an extension of the Protestant protest while the LDS faith is fully restorationist. All of this said, one of my major issues with the LDS belief is that it indicates the Christ’s supposed mission in the Americas was a complete failure. The culture was not transformed or altered as compared to Christ’s ministry in the old world. This is a major problem for the LDS faith. This issue almost makes any other apologetics meaningless.

Mormonism or the LDS faith are NOT a branch of Christianity. The Mormon Jesus is fundamentally different than the biblical Jesus and, thus, Mormons are not Christian. But, all Christians want Mormons to become Christian by turning away from false prophets and coming to know and following the real Jesus. The biblical Jesus is eternal, is God, and was with God in the beginning and it was through Jesus that all things were created both seen and unseen. He is our Creator and Savior (versus the Mormon Jesus who was just an intelligence matter in the beginning, was not our Creator, and is a mere exalted sinful man and a brother to Satan). Moreover, the God of the Bible is the one true God, perfect, the alpha and the omega, eternal, and unlike any other-He knows of no other gods before Him or after Him. (versus the Mormon god who is a mere exalted sinful man who was not our creator in the beginning, is not eternal save for his existence as an intelligence matter, is a god that had a god who had a god who had a god and so forth). Many LDS church leaders have admitted that they worship a different Jesus and Joseph Smith himself separated himself from Christianity. Now Satan and his Mormon church seeks to blend in and become indiscernible to the unwise and easily deceived. But, we know Mormons are NOT Christian. Let’s change that now. Would you like to have assurance of your salvation? Would you like to know Jesus Christ and hear how He paid the ultimate price for our sin so that we can have eternal fellowship with God? Would you like to know how you too can be saved by grace through faith in Jesus and how your sanctification will produce good works because of your faith, yet you are saved by grace alone? Come today, believe in Jesus and become an adopted child of God! ❤❤❤

You do not correctly interpret the LDS belief. Christ's mission was not a failure.

@@justdoityourself7134 Elaborate for me. How come there is no documented trace of Christ’s ministry within the known American cultures? If this is honestly addressed this is a major issue for the LDS faith.

@@PrairieChristianOutreach Define documented. If you've already rejected the first written documentation of Christ's ministry in the Americas in the BoM... what makes you think you might accept any further evidence that comes forward and/or why you've not considered the many Native testimonies through word of mouth and drawings that God visited their ancestors?? From where I sit... it's not a major issue for the LDS faith at all but the mystery is yours only. :>)

@@godsoffspring4195 We both know that the BoM does not pass for an ancient document. There is not a single non-LDS scholar that attests to such. Regarding evidence of Christ’s ministry. If you have some please provide it. I’d be interested in researching. My background in research is medical research and I have seminary training in Biblical research. My understanding of science prohibits me from accepting the types of pseudoscience accepted by many LDS apologists. I’m sorry for being so blunt, but this Hopewell Mound research is a perfect example of this pseudoscience. Is there any evidence the clearly shows that there was a Hebrew prophet who claimed divinity ministering in the Americas? Do you have clear evidence of Torah observance in American cultures? This observance would mirror 1st century Israel concepts. Think Qumran type civilization.
