100% agree. Just installed 1.9.2, took forever to find a vista compatible + offline ver but I did and man it is way more artistic than Microsofts butcher job with the game. Debating going even further back because the achievements look terrible, pretty sure they didn't look that bad or may not have even been in 1.5.2
I hated the hunger system the day Notch released beta 1.8 Pre-Release. The redeeming quality for me were interesting enchants and awesome world generation (forget about endless oceans). I played since alpha 1.2 and stopped playing at about full release 1.2.5, still had fun tho but burned out after making 10 jungle bases. I tried to come back and I just get bored SO FAST, like game has no soul anymore. Sure there are more things to do and more items, mobs and features ble ble, but everything is kinda meaningless and not rewarding. Perfect example are ore spawn rates. You can get op eq so fast while not even trying, you get 40 coal form ONE ORE. I am 21yo and I get a feeling just like with movies and show series that the “golden age of gaming”, when companies actually tried to make good games because they wouldn’t sell otherwise are long gone. Everyone does the exact same soulless games over and over and they SELL because I guess people don’t have respect for their own money anymore. Check Diablo Immortal streamers funding thousands of dollars just for “more followers”. 10 years ego so called “view whores” were criticized and shamed upon. Now they are worshiped. Kids in my days would flame you to oblivion if they didn’t like something you did, now nobody even expresses their own opinion. None respects their own time. RU-vidrs included.
Holy shit has this person not heard of indie games. I know I'm being rude and I usually try not to but I despise people stuck in the past. Absolutely despise them all and the world will be better off w/o them.
Beta and alpha versions were less complicated, but of those that prefer it over release versions, I think the real reason is because it did a better job of making mobs actually dangerous, and encouraging you to make a big impressive base. Sprinting makes mobs practically a joke to deal with. Sure, beds made nights less of an issue but beta 1.8 made nights a complete non issue because you can just sprint home without a problem, no mobs can catch you. Also beds being usable out in the open is a terrible idea for exploration, there's no reason to make waypoints, temporary shelters, treehouses, other than purely for aesthetics, which are grand but... with no utility it just bores me.
@@witherfang1368people complain about new features, but it's like ok? Don't use them. I never made an iron farm or zombie villager farm. My zombie villagers are always from the wild. So I usually only get up to 5. Never made a raid farm because those are stupid OP and makes totems a joke. Never made a gold farm because then trading with piglins is more of a choice if you want their items. I actually played an extremely hard island map too with half hp hard mode on 1.17 before the light level buff and never slept so mobs would rek me. I also always play on moody so torches do something. There's millions of ways to make the modern game more difficult and fun.
you're not giving old minecraft a very chance to let itself shine. also, when people think of old minecraft, they usually think of b1.7.3, not b1.0. sounds like you didn't do your research before this video.
every update after 1.17 has been a joke for both performance and the sheer amount of features they removed. the new generation is unpolished and doesn't fit at all in existing worlds plus there really isn't any point in updating if your world is already at endgame. 1.18 adds virtually nothing useful to already existing worlds and 1.19 only adds a few useless mobs, a rare swamp biome and ancient cities which are again useless to someone whose already max geared.
Disagree with multiple points First of all "sheer amount of features they removed". What did they remove? I cant think of anything of the top of my head. "The new generation is unpolished, and doesn't fit any at all in the existing worlds". The first part is definitely an opinion, and i disagree with it. I dont see how they could improve the terrain more. Maybe you can elaborate about it?(I guess maybe one unpolishness would be some floating island glitched terrain, but i think that just adds to the usual feel of Minecraft physics not being realistic). The second part is kinda technically wrong. Infact 1.18 is the best terrain changing update to mesh with your existing world, due to the new terrain blending feature that prevents chunk borders, and seamlessly connects the new terrain with the old one(You might be able to spot it if you are very carefully looking for it though). Every other terrain changing update before that made giant chunk borders walls. Also there is definitely a point in updating, even if you are an end game player. The new terrain(especially the gigantic mountains) allows for a cool baseline for fun builds and farms, and looks amazing at the same time. Also if you are very very end game player, the world height was also increased by 128 blocks so you can make absolutely gigantic bases without having to worry about hitting the height limit. 1.18 does infact add something to the existing world. It adds all the stuff below y0 to y-64. So it technically adds deepslate blocks and ores, amethyst clusters, cave biomes, cool cave generation, even within the loaded chunks, you just have to dig to below y0 to find it. About performance, its kinda knowable, why its less performant than 1.17. It just increased the height limit. Since chunks works on a 16 by 16 by entire y layer bases, it loads all the y levels of the chunk. Since there are more y levels to load, it is obviously less performant. But then again mods like sodium increase the performance tremendously. So i agree with the fact that mojang should definitely try to increase the games performance. About 1.19 stuff, i am neutral about it, so wont discuss it.
@@TejasIsAmazing archeology, bundles and deep dark off the top of my mind, and oh yeah goat horns too honestly i'm so glad the deep dark was delayed, it's SO MUCH better than og deep dark, if the same thing happens to archeology, i would not mind it being delayed as well
@@NightBlazr_ Oh ya. But i don't think they should be counted as removed? I mean they weren't technically added to the game yet. (Incorrect info in the curly brackets){ Also i think some devs of mojang did mention they didn't add bundles cause it wasn't really helping the inventory issues, and they might add it in a different better way in the future. }
I like old versions and new version for different reasons. Lots of things i like about both, i dont like hunger or sprint but the quality of life changes in new versions are mostly good.
@@TheHandleistHandle Well sprint brought hunger, I also dislike how easy sprint makes the game. Would of much preferred if sprint was left out and instead you HAD to make swiftness potions to go faster.
also tbf. hunger in mc is kinda implemented pretty badly. feels more like a chore, and not something to advance the gameplay. minecraft just isnt a fun game in general honestly im gonna keep it real with you homie
Nice video, Capade! I've been here since 800 subs. Can't wait for the Minecraft 4K videos! I can already tell they will be absolute bangers (obviously).
Idk personally I prefer a survival game over a game about abusing the game mechanics to get: overpowered equipment, basically infinite items from overpowered farms and the ability to literally FLY anywhere whenever you want letting you escape danger with ease and completely removing the challenge from survival. This video was an insanely hard watch with the constant recycling of the same “but it’s simpler…” mockery. Not once was it funny and the fact that you kept saying it really shows how much it bothers you when people say old minecraft is better.
Yeah old minecraft is inferior but not bad same with new minecraft but its superior and its not bad both old and new versions are good, and always renember, to enjoy the game the way you like :)
If I have to be serious about any version that might be a tat bit more enjoyable is 1.12.2 it may not be referred to as old for some but the only reason I still play on it sometimes is because of the amazing quality mods it has.
bruh, i'm the person to love 1.13 XD I don't like how easy stuff is to get nowadays from villagers, the fact that you can farm totems np, the new textures... I don't like them, it's an opinion after all tho.
@@ReddishAcorn i know that, but i don't use the old textures on the new versions due to the fact that new blocks look like the new ones with the old textures lol
Wrong version dude. What commenters like that are referring to is the overall client before Microsoft made a lot of changes. Somewhere between 1.5.2 and 1.9.2 lies the best version. Now don't get me wrong if you're playing online and everyone you plan on playing with owns an account then new is fine newest content is going to be the best but there's a certain appeal to having less hand holding and more of a clean discover secrets on your own of the older game. Somewhere after 1.5.2 that started to change. They started baking in the recipes and adding more and more annoying achievements. The old one allows you to play on lan without connecting to the internet, this has been ripped out of the new one especially if you have a bedrock ver and not the java.
The only reason to play old minecraft for me is the mods. Its not even like the mods are superior either, theres just a lot of old discontinued mods i love like witchery and stuff.
1:00 Not being able to sprint makes fighting mobs better. Skeletons in beta shot arrows, but those arrows could be dodged, unlike in new Minecraft where skeletons were given amazing accuracy to compensate for the fact players could be sprinting. Baby zombies were also added to the game to compensate for the fact players could sprint to avoid zombies. I personally would trade sprinting for baby zombies
the Grass and tree leaves where Brighter and gave minecraft a better look but thats all.. everyting else got better and looks better in the Modern minecraft
@@Mykola-l1c yeah but it was beta with some newer features but not much hunger & sprinting and villagers weren't there and the only thing i remember being from newer versions is villages without villagers and (i think) pistons
best versions are 1.4 thru 1.8 versions. The newer versions have so many useless features and mechanics barely expanded upon it’s not even worth exploring them, while beta is too barebones to enjoy.
I'm glad I grew out of this phase. I used to be a die hard veteran activist who had an intense hatred of modern Minecraft. A Naive adolescent who didn't want change. Today, I start to appreciate modern Minecraft more.
youtube is too complicated these days, I miss the good old days when you didn't have to worry about all these features that make no sense. youtube is going in the right direction by removing the dislike button
