The Colonial Brotherhood may be disappointments for betraying everything the creed stood for. Shay should have calmed down and spoke sense what he saw on Lisbon. Only then Achilles would realised what he did and order to end the search for the precursor sites, just like in the North Artic ending. In the end, when Achilles lost everything, He warned Both Shay and Haytham that both assassins and Templars should now on stay vigilant in finding Pieces Of Eden. Because soon the world would forget the causes of the earthquakes, even their orders. In the end, the Assassins remain vigilant in the future. But the Templars didn't.

To be fair he did probably claim down on the way back but as soon as he landed that anger bubble back up because Achilles knew that the earthquake would probably happen. Because of Achilles thousands of innocents died and shay obliterated the brotherhood

@@gamersteiner6436 Achilles never knew that the earthquake was caused by messing with the precursor sites. Shay heard the meeting with Achilles and Adewale that they didn't know how and why the earthquake happened in Haiti. The artifact that Mackandal's men was supposed to retrieve was never gotten and what happened to the man was unknown. When Shay learned the true caused of Haiti's earthquake he should have remain composed and spoke sense, then Achilles would listen and realize what he's been doing, then call of the search earlier rather than near the end of the game.

Shay had the right reasons and intentions in his heart. Achilles had led the Colonial Brotherhood astray. More fixated on securing Pieces of Eden having no regard to how many lives they endanger. The Brotherhood even went as far as to affiliate themselves with shady questionable characters and allowed them into their ranks. It has made the Colonial Assassins reckless and contradicted their whole philosophy of fighting for human liberty from the shadows. It took Shay dismantling the entire brotherhood for Achilles to finally see the damage he was causing. Both sides have their best intentions for humanity, but the methods that they use are extreme, harmful, and contradicting in nature. Rogue really does a great job in showing that.

it makes me think, a balance of templar and assassin is needed, if the assassins have their way for too long, society turns to chaos and anarchy, if the templars have their way, it turns to tyranny and everything is too ordered.

Realistically Shay was not right about betraying the assassins entirely. This is because that was one brotherhood and as we know each country’s brotherhood, each city’s brotherhood is different, like look at the differences between the French brotherhood in unity and the American brotherhood in ac 3 and rogue. The French brotherhood is very formal and from what we’ve seen is quite organized and the American brotherhood is formal-ish but especially from what we saw in rogue not the greatest decision makers but that doesn’t mean it was right to betray the assassins entirely.
@_majesticdrank
@_majesticdrank 6 месяцев назад
You do realise if he didn’t betray the assassins that the American brotherhood will still look for precursor sites and still interrupt them which causes cities and lands around it to fall which get’s innocent people to die. I mean the American brotherhood are responsible for Lisbon, Portugal yet they still went on looking for them.

I personally actually think that the assasins have always been morally questionable and they only looked "good " during the borgia times because the borgia abused their power for greed ,but the actual tenants of the creed are bad " stay your blade from the flest of the innocents " or whatever it is has so many loopholes, "everything is permitted " is such a dangerous concept that allows for so many attrocities to occur ,also achilles is the worst mentor to exist ,even when connor talks about wanting to work with haytham to unite the groups for the betterment of the world achilles stops him and feeds him some bs because he wants his revenge

@@_majesticdrank because if we look at the templars in the colonial period ,most of them didn't abuse their power ,they used their power to help innocent people ,whereas Achilles killed thousands of people just to get artifacts and Connor blindly killed templars without considering what consequences would come from it ,such as killing pitcarn which lead to the Americans vs British war etc , ezio killed innocent people in revelations when he destroyed that watchtower to get to that underground place ,if you even remember ezio leaves the brotherhood simply because he didnt agree with what he did

@@_majesticdrank well if the assasins tenants have a deeper meaning then surely we can say the same for templars ,for example the templars (especially haythams group) hated the borgias for what they did (there's proof of this in the databases ) so tenants can be seen different ways ,my overall point is that we can't look at the assasins and say "they are good and there morals are good " then say the opposite for templars because as I said both groups have good people in them and bad people in them ( achilles is the prime example of a terrible person,same with the borgias )

@@_majesticdrank but it's explained ,Johnson wanted the land to protect it for Connors people,hickey was just a mercenary so he doesn't get a free pass but his job was to kill Washington who was fucking up completely including when he burned Connors villiage down and killed his mom because of it ,pitcarn wanted to come to peace with Sam addams and convince him to get his army back off so then pitcarn is able to get the redcoats to back off so even if the way the do it looks bad they did it for the right reasons whereas throughout the entire colonial assasins period they just did bad shit to gain an upperhand on templars without even considering the harm they did ,hence why shay defected

Man wished they made more when I watched the game (saw playthroughs) felt this had a interested concept but went nowhere Like Ubisoft literally had an opportunity to make games of being a Templar but just stayed on being an assassin Would like to add ac1 had a single quote explaining there motives which was the most we got till ac3 and this of what was the purpose of the Templars Hell could have continued the story but again went nowhere for both the Templar perspective and arnos story As for if they were right/wrong Yea I’m on shay but just cuz it’s one character I still see the flaws of the assassins and Templars Assassins it’s thing is freedom : but from there comes a chance on corruption Templars control : do control but comes a authoritarian rule I know there is few stuff I’m missing as it’s been years since I last saw this just going by memory Sucks we won’t see a continuation of it would be nice to explore the timeline to someplace else but whatever cool concept though

@@gabrielandjavierpinales3689 Well, the Assassins did something similar by waging war against the British in the Americas (which lead the massacering of natives in the end, which the Templars wanted to prevent). It plays into the bigger plans for both orders. Not sure how this particularily makes Shay or the Templars monsters and not also the Assassins, since both Templars and Assassins are willing to sacrifice other people. It's not like the Assassins cared much for the people they hurt. They showed no remorse for the innocents they robbed and killed by supporting pirates and gangs (how this would lead to peace or justice is a mystery to anybody with an ounce of sense), they also would not listen when Shay warned them that the artifacts cause earthquake that can kill thousands and shrugged of all those casualties like it was nothing. At least the Templars, while also struggling with corruption, have the noble goal of peace and order, while the Assassins are essentially just anarchists opposing the law and anybody who holds any authority (authority is nessecary to enforce law and ensure order, however). If nothing is true, peace and justice become meaningless words that can be interpreted anyway you want (like calling piracy justice, for example). If everything is permitted, chaos in inevitable.

@@Argenteus189 The Assassins never started the Seven Year War, but aided the French in the war. Also the Assassin are not entirely anarchist they are individuals fighting to protect innocent lives and their freedom. Rogue show what happens to the assassins who stray too far from their creed. Also in the game there are some bad writings. This makes me wonder in some moments I feel that Shay is being manipulated by Templars to aid them to kill the assassins. Like the thugs who broke into the Finnegans house. After Shay beat them up one of the thugs he chased actually had no idea about them and think his boss has something to do with it. Also the chemicals he learned from Le Chasseur were going to be used on the authorities. But Monroe told Shay he got some information that the assassins are going to use them on the civilians, Shay never ask where he got the information. I feel like they been making the Templars like Assassins and Assassins like Templars. In rogue it shows the Assassins use Templar tactics. The Templars uses the Assassins tactics. I think it would have made sense if the game was really played in the Templar perspective.
