The Qur'an is complete because Allah says it has been preserved. The missing Suras and Ayats were simply abrogated by Allah, the way Allah abrogated them was by Muslims forgetting them or being eaten by Aisha's sheep.

This makes the grammar different between these two Qur'ans. In the Hafs version it is a sentence, Allah is the self-sufficient. While in the Warsh version it is a phrase, Allah, the self-sufficient. Both Qur'ans are expressing the same idea but are doing it in different ways and as a result are recited differently. "qaala" vs "qul", 21:4 In the Hafs version qaala is the perfect tense and therefore Muhammad is the subject of the verb, but in the Warsh version qul is the imperative and therefore the subject is God who is commanding Muhammad/Muslims. This difference is repeated in 21:112.

The issue is how is the meaning of the verse about Allah's Religion being preserved to be understood. You only need to change one word in a translation of the meaning of quran to change a sentences complete meaning. Without knowing classical arabic you have to keep an open mind. It could mean that tmrw someone will dig up an original Quran (or forged quran) or it could mean the Quran is already preserved. Or it could mean something else. There's enough evidence in Quran to know it's the truth regardless of how you translate the meaning of that verse. I doubt people who are fluent in classical arabic can even agree on translating the meaning of some words.
I have lost count of the number if times I thought I had found a mistake in the Quran only to find out later with perseverance to understand the bigger picture I was wrong. That's a normal part of learning Quran. When in doubt about something persevere to find a plausable explanation and Allah will provide it if you are patient a and sincere.

Al-Qaadhi ‘Iyaadh said in his book Ash-Shifa: "Muslim scholars have agreed that the Quran which is recited in all the regions of the world and which is written in the Mus-haf (the hardcopy of the Quran) by the hands of the Muslims, starting with the first (chapter in its) cover, ‘Al-Hamdu Lillahi Rabi ‘Aalameen’ (Al-Faatihah) to the last (chapter in its) cover, Qul ‘A’oothu bi Rabbi An-Naas’ (An-Naas), is the words of Allah, and it is a revelation revealed to His Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) and that all which it contains is the truth...” [End of quote] With regard to the quote of Ibn ‘Umar may Allaah be pleased with him we did not find any scholar who stated whether it is authentic or inauthentic. Even if we presume that it is authentic, then it would be referring to the verses the recitation of which was abrogated from the Quran. This is the context in which As-Suyooti reported this quote in his book Al-Itqaan as he said: (The third type is that which its recitation has been abrogated but not its ruling) and also he mentioned other statements (quotes). What was stated by As-Suyooti was also mentioned by Al-Aloosi in his Tafseer entitled Rooh Al-Ma’aani as he said: "The scholars have agreed in consensus that there is no deficiency in the Quran which was conveyed as Mutawaatir, as is found between the two covers [of the Book] today. Indeed, at the time of Abu Bakr As-Sideeq, what was not agreed to be Mutawaatir was left out as well as anything the recitation of which has been abrogated, although it was recited by those who were unaware of its abrogation. Additionally, anything which was not included in the last review (of the Quran) was also left out ….." [End of quote] On the other hand, Ibn Hajar may Allaah have mercy upon him said in his book Fatah Al-Baari that the statement of ‘Umar may Allaah be pleased with him was interrupted (in the chain of narration), i.e., it is inauthentic. The report does not mention that it was lost. The wording of the report is as follows: "From Al-Hasan, it was reported that ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattaab asked about a verse from the Book of Allah, and it was said to him: It was with so and so who was killed in the battle of Al-Yamaamah. Thereupon he said: ‘To Allah we belong’; and he ordered that the Quran be collected in one book and it was collected in one book, and he was the first one who collected it in one Mus-haf.” However, it is known that Abu Bakr was the one who collected the Quran, unless the words ‘the first’ mean that ‘Umar was the first one to advise Abu Bakr to collect it [in one Mus-haf] as stated by Ibn Hajar in Fat-h Al-Baari. Besides, this verse, which ‘Umar asked about, was recognized by those whom he asked. This proves that this verse was known to them, and that it is from the Quran. It could be that the one who was killed in the battle of Yamaamah was the one who learnt it from the mouth of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) then others learnt it from him. All this, if we presume that the statement of the companion is authentic, but we have already mentioned that it is inauthentic. Moreover, we have not come across the statement of Zuhayr to which you referred. Saying that something from the Quran was lost because of the reciters who were killed in Al-Yamaamah is a pure lie. Those who memorized the Quran by heart were so many, among whom were the four caliphs themselves and so many other companions as mentioned by Az-Zarqaani in his book Manaahil Al-‘Irfaan. With regard to the Mas-hafs that were in the hands of the Companions, then when ‘Uthman may Allaah be pleased with him gathered the people upon one single Mus-haf; he ordered them to burn the other Mus-hafs they had with them, and they adhered to him. Ibn Abu Daawood narrated in Al-Masaahif from Mus'ab ibn Sa'd ibn Abu Waqqas who said: “When ‘Uthmaan burned the Quran, there were so many people present and they liked what ‘Uthman did”, or he said: “No one objected to that”. The Quran that is in the Turkey museum said to be the Quran used by Caliph Uthman, the researchers have found out that there are more 2100 differences when compared to today's Quran. Not just in the consonants but in the entire meaning of the verse. Some of the verses are completely opposite to what the older version has said.

Petros Christoffel There are two things, Ahruf meaning letter or dialect, and Qira'at meaning reading. There are seven ahruf and 10 qira'at. Muhammad recited the Qu'ran in seven ahruf or dialects though this was only changes in the sound and not the content or the words at all. Like Tuda Set said, it was a change from long A's to short A's for example. When the Qu'ran was compiled together, one Ahruf was kept and that was the accent of the Quraysh because that was the most important one as this was the dialect of Muhammad and the majority of his companions. The 10 Qira'at or recitations has different sounds and slight variations of words but not content. In the first chapter for example, one recitation says "King of the Day of Judgement" and another says "Possessor of the Day of Judgement". In both cases, the letters stay the same as Arabic like other semitic languages has consonants so both read M-L-K. The consonants never change. There are only very minor differences like this in the recitation and in no case does it change any meaning. This is significant because the Qu'ran even has a specific way of pronunciation and this is kept from the time of the Prophet without change.

After 9 chapters I wanted to stop reading but I did finish the 114 chapters, I even read again to make sure I have been reading correctly and then I read it in a other language to be sure that my language wasn’t fooling me but in the other language they where also talking about destroying, fighting, killing, punishments, hell and it’s was hard to find the words love , peace and respect.

I am not asking you about a newspaper article. *Where is the oldest Quran with all 114 chapters and when was it written?* I will add one more question since you did not answer the first one. Is the oldest Quran exactly identical to all the different versions (Hafs, Dhuri, warsh, etc..) of the Quran around the world as some have claimed? The preservation of the Qur'an is a leap of faith! Zayd ibn Thabit was instructed to collect all Quran verses that were written on papers, leaves, stones, bones etc. The was no way to be 100% sure that nothing was missing or that nothing has been wrongfully added!

Why are there different versions of the quran then? Why are there hadith telling there were suras that aren't anymore like bukhari 6328 or sunan ibn majah hadith 1944 for example?
The Quran used by most Muslims today was only agreed upon in 1924 in Cairo. Many different Qurans were used up to that point. Muslims are deluded and easily fooled by their Imams who claim their Quran is from the days of early Islam and is un-corrupted. No that is a FALSE STATEMENT. How do you deduce that their were "great differences"? The Quran wss revealed in 7 Ahruf! Uthman decided to eliminate the other Ahruf and only move forward with the Quraishi Ahruf in order to avoid fighting amongst the Muslims such as in the christians. Hence Uthman Eliminated the other Ahruf even though they were all valid. Now the controversy is when you use the term "differences" or "variants" what you are doing is you are translating the term Ahruf and assigning false meaning to it. @@Arwar555 not true, there are small differences in today's arabic Qurans. "Allah huwa l-ghaniyu" vs "Allah l-ghaniyu", 57:24 The Hafs version has an extra word, huwa, in this verse. This makes the grammar different between these two Qur'ans. In the Hafs version it is a sentence, Allah is the self-sufficient. While in the Warsh version it is a phrase, Allah, the self-sufficient. Both Qur'ans are expressing the same idea but are doing it in different ways and as a result are recited differently. "qaala" vs "qul", 21:4 In the Hafs version qaala is the perfect tense and therefore Muhammad is the subject of the verb, but in the Warsh version qul is the imperative and therefore the subject is God who is commanding Muhammad/Muslims. This difference is repeated in 21:112.

The crazy thing about this claim, is that it's perfectly preserved word for word yet it needed human agency to do this. And to boot, it was solely based on human memory. Not impossible but early Islamic history shows variants did in fact happen with the Sanaa manuscript being an example. The point is, if you can claim its perfectly preserved, then allah should have just sent it down on pure gold tablets or something. You can easily go from the "perfection" claim to just "send a Xerox copy" claim too. Secondly, even if muslims claim it is from allah or of divine origin, why quote the Talmud? Why say things the bible already has? Andy S First of all, we have NEVER, EVER, quoted from talmud, NEVER. That doesn’t exist. Second, the source of bible was originally from Allah, which were taurat (torah) and injil (gospel). However, throughout human history, human have changed what was written in there. So in order to preserve what’s original and to remove what’s added, Allah sent down the Quran as a means to preserve it. Hence we do not see any other Abrahamic revelation after quran because it is the perfected, preserved, final form.

If that were true there would have been many contradictions in it. The Quran doesn't have any, infact there are parts that indicate its divine nature. For example the word "day" in its singular form is mentioned exactly 365 times. The word "month" in its singular form is mentioned exactly 12 times. Who was counting 1400 years ago ? And this is not even the tip of the iceberg. Then do they not reflect upon the Qur'an? If it had been from [any] other than Allah , they would have found within it much contradiction. I watched a fascinating YT video positing that Petra not Mecca was the original site of Mohammed's enlightenment and the original Quibla towards which Muslims prayed based on the orientation of pre-800 AD mastids. So, if put in perspective of modern terminology, this was a copyrighted recording in the times when in whatever way it could be preserved, it was preserved. But the contenders will still argue that we cannot consider it divine just because it was preserved by the actions of the believers and lovers of this theocracy, and not by some natural process that would clearly certify it (or any other noble book) being divine. Every language has many types of pronunciations and even meaning basing on geographical locations. For example, English in USA are different from Yorkshire, Wales or Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand etc. Same with Arabic. Due to today's global connections variations are understood and read. Since The Quran has been being memorized from the first verse, it was logical for Khalipha Utsman to retain The Quran of the Hafij (the person memorized The Quran) and destroyed all local arabic typed versions. No that is a FALSE STATEMENT. How do you deduce that their were "great differences"? The Quran wss revealed in 7 Ahruf! Uthman decided to eliminate the other Ahruf and only move forward with the Quraishi Ahruf in order to avoid fighting amongst the Muslims such as in the christians. Hence Uthman Eliminated the other Ahruf even though they were all valid. Now the controversy is when you use the term "differences" or "variants" what you are doing is you are translating the term Ahruf and assigning false meaning to it. The truth is, there is no solid definition of what the term "Ahruf" means and regardless the Ahrufs were all valid. So what we have today is verbatim the EXACT word of God via angel Jibrail to Prophet Muhammad. This is toally unlike the CHristian bible which was hidden from the masses, chapters were added and removed, and today the 3 largest Bible sects Eastern orthodox, Roman Catholic, & Protestants all have completely different amounts of chapters. So he compiled it (may Allaah be pleased with him), and he formed a four-man committee for that task, headed by Zayd ibn Thaabit (may Allaah be pleased with him). So they compiled the Qur'aan in one style, and copied it and distributed it to the various regions so that the people could rely on it and so as to put an end to disputes. There was no human intervention in the first ahruf revealed to the prophet. The prophet requested / asked for more to accommodate other Arabs. However this still does not change the fact that what we have today is what God revealed as the full Quran to prophet Muhammad for all of humanity. The Christians added verses that God did not reveal to jesus. WHY was the Bible not made PUBLIC for at least 1000 years after Jesus? There is no good reason to withhold “gods word” from the masses bc gods word is meant for everybody human not only for PHD’s in theology! Thirdly there was not even an agreement on the basic beliefs of Christianity until 300 years after Jesus departed earth, at the council of Nicea! Can you please explain why Uthman’s leadership was accused of corruption? Wasn’t the cause of his assassination because of him tampering with the Quran? To me it suggests, where there is smoke, there is fire! Why wasn’t the Quran finalised and compiled during the time of the prophet SAW?
Shabir says that if something is done by just a few individuals it is to be suspected. But Muhammad made claims that no one had anyway to verify if this was true and he was only one individual. Why should we believe him?

I totally agree. Unfortunately many people think they got it all figured out and they don't need to ask God. Some years ago I was looking into islam, I thought I might be true so I asked God about it and a great discernment came to me, I could see the deception behind this religion which I couldn't see before. God does answer when we trust Him and put Him in first place. We make mistakes. Only God is perfect. I ask the one who is perfect where is His truth. Jesus is the only way!

It is claimed that the Quran never mentions the Bible. This is blatantly false since the Quran refers to the Book of the Jews and Christians: "It is not for a man to whom is given the Book and wisdom and prophecy that he should then say to people, ‘Be worshipers of me in place of God.’ But rather, ‘Be true teachers, since you TEACH the Book and you STUDY it earnestly.’" Sura 3:79 The Book that both the Jews and Christians were reading during Muhammad’s time was the Holy Bible containing the Old and New Testaments. Even though the unbelieving Jews obviously didn’t accept the New Testament, the Quran could still say that they were reading the same book as the Christians.

Interesting that Dr Ally quotes Paul from the New Testament to say that none of these things were done in a corner (in secret) as being evidence that the Quran was not changed because it was so public. Interesting because of course the same argument applies to the Bible and yet many Muslims I meet try to tell me that the Bible has been changed.
It’s is a known fact that there are many korans, so next time they try to point out that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are 3 Gods and not one because it doesn’t make sense, point out the different Koran versions that they have and ask them is it X amount or one? I don’t want to offend you or your religion, because we’re both monotheistic faiths and we have similar morals for the most part .What the man was taking about was not a change in the Quran. The revelation came to Muhammad pbuh and they actually did write down verses during his lifetime like one bone marrow and animal hides. Many of his (saaws’) companions (May God be pleased with them) memorized the Qur’an and were protective of it, as it is historically accurate they were God fearing people. The Qur’an was memorized by many and nothing was changed from the way it was revealed when it was written down. The order of the verses remained exactly the same. The companions (ra) just compiled the chapters into one book, to refer back to, to make sure their recitation was complete accurate. As Islam spread to many nations, that had different dialects, it was acceptable to allow other nations to write it in the Arabic they understood. However, the third caliphate realized this variation of Quran in different Arabic dialects would lead to error. Uthman (ra) was the third caliphate and a great companion of the prophet (pbuh). So he decided to make all the Qur’an scriptures the exact same dialect as the prophet (pbuh) recieved it. Mind you, many people had already memorized the Qur’an and knew it was a great sin to change the words or meaning, so when Uthman (ra) ordered a standard version, no one objected and the people who memorized the Qur’an actually helped compile the standardized version. There are also many stories of the life time of the prophet pbuh that show that many companions (Ra) knew exactly when a verse came down to the prophet pbuh. If you learn about the Quran you’d know it’s not simply a book, but it is quite miraculous. You can even admire it as a non Muslim. It’s formation, meaning, preciseness, etc could not be emulated by an creature of God. If it were changed it would be very evident to Muslims who memorized it and reviewed the final standardized version to be read world wide.

I also think it is healthy to discuss what we believe, as we are doing here. If one of us has the truth then we have a duty to share that to help others find that truth. If I may say with respect, it is not the Quran that I have the biggest problem with but the Hadith. I know that some are held in higher esteem than others, such as Sahih Bukhari and other version not as much and some are highly disputed. Knowing that most if not nearly all Muslims use these very much to decide how to live before God causes me concern.
@@John14.6 Actually, the basic principal for Islam in regards to importance is that the Qur'an takes precedence. And the sunnah is mainly an interpretation of the Qur'an. Like a lot of hadith are used to explain a verse in the Qur'an, etc. The whole concept of the using the Qur'an and the life of the prophet saaws is like a guide book and a teacher. The prophet (peace be upon him) is an example in a way as what a human embodiment of the Qur'an would be like. And of course God is always number 1, as prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) continuously reminded that although he saaws is a prophet, he is also human and not worthy of worhsip. In fact on his death bed he saaws said and emphasized to not make his grave a place of celebration or festivity nor worship him. In fact, a moment very dear to me is right after Muhammad (saaws') death, and his close companion (Abu Bakr ra) addressed the Muslims who were in panic and grief and said "Oh Men, if you have been worshipping Muhammad (SAAWs), then know that Muhammad (SAAWS) is dead. But if you have been worshipping God, then know that God is living and never dies". And also I wanted to say that i didn't take anything to heart, because of course you have a right to your views. I'm sure it may appear that Muslims just judge Christians, but the Qur'an is not a means to just pick on and criticize everyone else. Because the Qur'an and hadith teach that muslims aren't immune from faults just by calling ourselves muslim. I want to leave it off with this verse from the Qur'an; 'And you will find nearest of them in affection to believers those who say, "We are Christians." Now, my question is: Why do muslims mistranslate the English quran in surah 33:56 as - "Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O ye that believe! Send ye blessings on him, and salute him with all respect."? It should be translated as "prays" not blessings because "baraka" is not in the transliteration of 33:56 or in the Arabic.
Peace be upon you, Not exactly. In that verse, you can actually read "yusalluuna 3alaa nabi". The verb is followed by the 3alaa particle. Literally, "Yusalluuna" means pray and "3alaa" means on. But, in any arabic dictionary, you will find that "salla 3alaa" has the same meaning as "Baraka". So, for the verb "salla", we need to read the particle following the verb to know the correct meaning. Peace be upon you

Quran Compilation in the Life of Prophet Muhammad The entire Quran was revealed during the lifetime of the Holy Prophet. It was not only revealed during this time but it was also present in the written form. Whenever any verse was revealed by Allah, the Holy Prophet would advise his scribes to jot down that piece of revelation. Here are a few things on which the verses of the Holy Quran were written. Papers Stones Pieces of leather Shoulder blades of camels Palm leaves The verses of the Holy Quran were revealed according to the need of that time. But they are not in the sequence of revelation. Whenever any verse was revealed, it was also advised which Surah the verse should be placed in. So even the sequence of placement of the verses was revealed by Allah. The scribes placed each verse in the same order they were asked to do. In this way, the sequence of the Holy Quran was never changed. Not only the sequence of verses but the names of Surahs was also revealed by Allah. Hazrat Zaid Bin Thabit was one of the most prominent scribes of the Holy Quran. By the demise of the Holy Prophet, the revelation of the Quran was completed. The Battle of Yamamah As mentioned earlier, the memory of the Arabs was very strong. Relying on the strong memories they had, the Holy Quran was compiled in the form of a book. It is because a lot of people had Hifz Quran. Due to their strong memory, the need for the compilation of the Quran was never felt by anyone. But during the 632 A.D (11 A.H), a very harsh battle took place at the place of Yamamah. This battle was so intense that hundreds of companions of the Holy Prophet were martyred who had Hifz Quran. It had created a fear of losing the Holy Quran. Compilation During the Reign of Abu Bakar After the Battle of Yamamah, only a few people were left who had Hifz Quran. Hazrat Umer Bin Khattab became anxious that if the situation continues or worsens, a large portion of the Holy Quran could be lost. He expressed his fears to the Caliph of that time; Hazrat Abou Bakar and asked him to compile the Holy Quran in the form of a proper book. Abu Bakar did not agree with him at first. He said that he could not do anything like that as the Holy Prophet did not compile the Quran during his lifetime. But when Umer Bin Khattab persuaded him, he agreed and ordered him to compile the Quran in the form of a book. Hazrat Zaid Bin Thabit became in charge of the compilation process. He was asked to collect and compile the Quran in a single book. At first, he was also hesitant to do something that the Holy Prophet did not do in his life. But when he was told about the whole situation, he became ready to do it. After that, the process of compilation began. He collected all the written verses from the materials they were written on. He also listened to the people who had Hifz Quran. Moreover, everyone was asked to bring the verses they had. Only those verses were included, which were testified by at least two persons. In this way, there was no chance of including any verse mistakenly. In this way, the Quran was compiled in the form of one book. Umer Bin Khattab was the official custodian of the compiled version. After he passed away, the volume of the Quran was transferred to his daughter Hazrat Hafsah. That is how the second phase of the compilation of the Quran came to an end. In The Reign of Hazrat Usman Bin Affan Till the time of Hazrat Usman, the Islamic federation had spread over a large area. It also included the areas which were not even Arabic. Those people were not native speakers of the Arabic language. With the expansion of Islam to no native speakers, the problem of dialects started to get common. Different people had a different style of pronunciation and people started to get into conflicts by blaming the other person for reading wrong. When Hazrat Usman came to know about the conflicts on recitation, he feared that the conflicts may get more intense and divided the Muslims. He immediately took action and asked Hazrat Hafsah for the original volume of the Quran. Hazrat Zaid Bin Sabit was appointed as the head of the committee responsible for writing the Quran in a specified dialect. Finally, the Quraish accent was appointed to be used by Muslims all around the world. It is because the Holy Quran was revealed in the Quraish accent. Once the copies of the Quran were made, the original version of the book was given back to Hazrat Hafsah. These copies were sent to all the provinces of the Islamic states. It was ordered to burn all other copies of the Quran or replace them with the new version. In this way, the Muslim community was saved from getting divided into groups. Conclusion From the day of its revelation, not even a single word has been changed in the Holy Quran. Every precautionary measure was taken to compile the Holy Quran without even making the slightest change in it. Now it is up to take care of the Holy Quran. Although Allah has taken the responsibility to protect the Holy Quran, we should also be responsible for protecting this book. For that purpose, it is the best practice to Hifz Quran. The more hafiz e Quran there in the world, the more difficult it is to do any fabrication in the Quran.

So what we have today is verbatim the EXACT word of God via angel Jibrail to Prophet Muhammad. This is toally unlike the CHristian bible which was hidden from the masses, chapters were added and removed, and today the 3 largest Bible sects Eastern orthodox, Roman Catholic, & Protestants all have completely different amounts of chapters. ALL muslims in the world who have a QUran have the same QUran with the same exact verses and number of chapters!

The Quran was compiled in a written form by Zayd ibn Thabit, after 70 Huffaz were killed in the battle of Yamama, as instructed by Abu Bakr. There has been a great confusion over what has been part of the Quran. There was also quite a strong dispute between Abdullah ibn Mas'ud and Uthman ibn Affan who had a correct version of the Quran. Eventually Uthman forced Abdullah to destroy his version!
There was no strong debate and no forcing. Uthman taljed to Zaid and explained to him that standardizing it was better to avoid confusion. Zaid only wanted to keep it because of emotional attachment, not because he had a different version. If there was a strong debate and Zaid had opposed what Uthman had done, we would have had different accounts of it. Also, he was not forced to give it. They discussed it and they convinced him that he needed to put aside his personal feelings for the good of the Muslim community.

The bible has sooo many copies, thereforr it original is lost. Your saying the quran had no original, but now there ia only one quran? Doeant make sense. If there was no original, there would hundreds of quran, but there is 1.
@@gotcmehs4649 Not doubtful at all, copies were found, exactly the same. Also, the words could change, maybe one or two in a page. So to ensure they didnt, the historians that found the old copies read the page, and all the words made sense in the context that they were in, and were understandble in todays arabic.

Shakespeare lived in the 15 hundreds; the words he used were standard English, yet his writings are near incomprehensible without some one to interpret his meaning. But no matter. Interpretations of the quran have been in existence since it was revealed and have been the same so far, apart from the interpretations on verses including science and facts. This is because science changed, so as science developed, scholars came to find miracles in the quran and interpreted them.

And he concludes ‘The 1300 years old Quran contains passages so accurate about embryonic development (formation of baby inside of a mother) that Muslims can reasonably believe them to be revelation from God. Quran is proved to be the word of GOD with scientific facts ,this is one of it.
History of the Holy Quran is coming from AHadith that says Khalifa Uthman (RA) burned the Holy Quran? Are AHadith collections books of history? Really! When did the Ahadith receive the status of history book? Or has it ever been considered a book of history? The answer is a BIG NO. But unfortunately, not just a great number of Muslims today believe in many stories told in the Ahadith collections, like the Bukhari's collection, that the stories there also bear historical importance; many non-Muslims also take that as facts and some virulent missionaries (like this one) try to utilize that against Islam. There are many noticeable problems in this story. The story of Quranic compilation as stated in Bukhary and other Ahadith collection tells us how it was written on rock, palm leaves, bones of dead animals, pieces of wood and so on, depicting a distorted image of final revelation of Allah that has been subjected to negligent treatment to that extent, while history tells us that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) has had a group of scribes headed by Zayd bin Thabith and given the utmost importance of the Quran it is easily understandable. Majority of the ancients mushafs (manuscripts) of Quran that are preserved in various places in the world are written in parchments, which includes the oldest manuscripts in University of Birmingham, UK. Another problem is that the AHadith also tells us how the custodianship of the Quran passed on to Khalifa Abu Bakr (RA) onward to Khalifa Umar (RA) and instead of to Khalifa Uthman (RA), suddenly breaking the rank, to Hafsa binte Umar (RA)? Moreover, Instead of safekeeping in the custody of Khalifa Uthman (RA), it was returned to Hafsa binte Umar (RA). More problematic part of the statement is that, `Uthman sent to every Muslim province one copy of what they had copied, and ordered that all the other Qur'anic materials, whether written in fragmentary manuscripts or whole copies, be burnt.' Since all copies were burnt, we do not find any of those versions of Quran any more. How in the world it is possible that everybody obeyed the command of Uthman and burned their copies of Quran without opposition, while Uthman had a number of people vehemently opposing his Khilafah and he was assassinated by his opponents. All these nonsensical stories is rampantly out there, over-shadowing the facts on the compilation of the Quran, which the history now tells us that it was not just written down immediately but also compiled during the lifetime of the Prophet (pbuh). Sects may have their own versions. We are talking about the only version that counts namely the one that has had a seal of approval from every Muslim Council in the Arabic Muslim world i.e. The one that it is accepted to be verbatim the word of God by all the major sects be they Sunni or Shia. Allah claims to be Guardian of quran but has poor record of preserving his revelations, Torah and injeel revealed by him but in his own words they are now corrupted, almighty allah couldn't preserve his own revelations.

Quran was never changed since it was originally written by Allah swt ahead of Creations. It is miraculously Sealed by Allah swt to protect it against any change or alteration. Not a single letter could be changed, altered, added nor deleted without being detected miraculously & mathematically by the Seal of Allah swt. The secret seal was lately revealed by Allah swt to only he who He Wills to know such seal. .

Back to San'a Quran scripts at Yemen dated at the 7th century, this very old script exposed a surprising number of variants, including completely different words. This script did not agree with Othman Quran version.

There are two things, Ahruf meaning letter or dialect, and Qira'at meaning reading. There are seven ahruf and 10 qira'at. Muhammad recited the Qu'ran in seven ahruf or dialects though this was only changes in the sound and not the content or the words at all. Like Tuda Set said, it was a change from long A's to short A's for example. When the Qu'ran was compiled together, one Ahruf was kept and that was the accent of the Quraysh because that was the most important one as this was the dialect of Muhammad and the majority of his companions. The 10 Qira'at or recitations has different sounds and slight variations of words but not content. In the first chapter for example, one recitation says "King of the Day of Judgement" and another says "Possessor of the Day of Judgement". In both cases, the letters stay the same as Arabic like other semitic languages has consonants so both read M-L-K. The consonants never change. There are only very minor differences like this in the recitation and in no case does it change any meaning. This is significant because the Qu'ran even has a specific way of pronunciation and this is kept from the time of the Prophet without change."""
