Was The Season 7 Update Good For Disney Speedstorm?

This is the biggest update and unfortunately it did a lot of harm to the game. So much payment nowadays. The tournament game mode is horrible for new players or players that don't have the characters. Also it should be only 5$ if not less

Great Speedcast :) Touching on ranked, I think match making is going to be forever worse due to the fact that levels can be bought outright, meaning some whales and dolphins can wreak havoc up until around Diamond or Champion. Level 40 and 50 racers in low ranks will be prevalent for quite some time. On top of that, ranked rewards are ALSO forever worse since tokens can't be used for Golden Passes anymore once part 2 of season 7 starts, and as you mentioned in your two videos about upgrading racers, ranked BARELY gives upgrade coins. I think a snowball effect could happen where there's less incentive to play ranked due to worse rewards, which could mean less players playing ranked and it'll create more match making issues.

- playing ranked with a normal character is horrible, you can not play ranked from rank 28+ there are only characters level 45+ and almost all 50 - I didn't like the tournament mode because I thought it would be competing with other people not with bots,also if you don't have the characters you can't play it. - very few coins per day are given to upgrade characters

Between half the Wreck-It Ralph cast being voiceless, the glitches and bugs, unwanted changes to upgrading, and the Golden Pass changes, this is quite possibly the WORST Season Disney Speedstorm has ever seen.

A big feature that would keep me would be pay for the racer instead of the Gacha system. I agree what you said only time will tell once mobile release

One change I'm hating is the new daily challenges: 'use 3 shields in one race' or 'use 3 hacks in one race'. I hope they remove them!

I do NOT like the new Golden Pass system. I HOPE they revert the change when we get close to season eight. But, I bought it through a Golden Pass credit, so, that’s a plus. Also, I cannot seem to get the objective of use 10 drift boosts as Vannelope, EVEN though I counted 10 times twice. I think it’s a bug.

It is so sad because just because those characters don’t have voice, I don’t really like playing them nor care to upgrade them. I was gonna buy Candy’s skin pack and just because hi isn’t voiced I don’t have the motivation to do so. I don’t want to invest money or resources into and unfinished character

This season is not terrible but voices are gone and golden pass changes gameloft should report the issues

Every season they do one thing right and simultaneously fuck 5 things up Increase the coin drop rate everywhere by 3× All characters must have a voice Increase the lightweight racers top speed by 1.2k Combine the 2 golden pases like wtf I still dont agree on rarity being meaningless now because i spent to much on epics i need a complete reimbursement for wasting my time now

Candy Kingdom is the best track to date.

As a day 1 player, Season 7 is terrible overall. LOL

Love the new season! Minus the voice lines not being added.. everything else is great !

I think Vanellopes ult is tailored made for the new track.

Guess this is where I hop off the Speedstorm train. Becoming way too much pay to win. Which is unfortunate because I enjoyed playing this game since I bought the early access a year ago. But it's been steadily getting worse with each new season for a while now.

WHY TOURNAMENTS SUCK...TLDR version: it requires buying more shards & U coins to unlock & level. ((background on my Speedstorm journey: I'm a TLM fan, Season 6 newbie / s6 golden pass buyer (pretty shady putting Ariel many people's favirite Disney princess behind a paywall) who grinded all my characters to Platinum (Vanellope to Emerald) & did dailies to afford lots of universal box rolls to try to get character shards the past 2 months. I recently (against my better judgement) bought $30 beginner bundle, despite having both characters unlocked, to get s7 pt1 golden pass token and buy more gp token for later and then afer buying just 1 gp token I crazily used tokens I should've spent for 3 more GP coins to instead spend 1390 tokens EACH to unlock Jafar and Gaston to get race reward shards to unlock Anna & Ortensia after 2 rolls on Support Box I and got up to 7/10 shards for Olaf after getting 3 for him in s6 and 4 from an s7 race reward (Jafar a much better deal because he allowed me to get Anna & Ortensia). I now have 42/55 characters unlocked but regret spending some of my 93K converted upgrade coins from s6 to get Eric from 40 to 42 and Ariel & Triton from 36 to 42, Ursula is at 26. I completed the golden pass shortly after chapter 4 unlocked where I got to 25/33 trophies adter completing chapter 1-3 trophies (I'll miss out on a bunch of trophies for chapter 5 due to ridiculous level requirements). I was at just 3 upgrade coins yesterday, yeah you read that right, 3. Now back around 2700 after today's rewards)) You're a longtime player who can invest in this game from your youtube earnings on these videos, so I'll have to mansplain to you in normal gamer terms why the Tournaments are kinda TRASH for new players despite SEEMING like something done to benefit new players who missed earlier seasons. IT IS ANOTHER GREEDY SCAM. Longtime players don't need these rewards (they might want new golden kart cosmetics). The people who would want previous season rewards most are new players and, unless they are rich or trust fund nepo baby whales, the Vaults cost a lot more than $8 each because you can ONLY use characters you've already unlocked AND 3500 points for each racer require you to have those racers at around level 30 to claim all rewards. So hey let's just go purchase more shards and upgrade coins and make this more expensive (hard pass). I didn't buy the vault pass on principle, especially because I'd need the $16 bundle to compete it even at my decent levels of characters. With all 4 M Inc racers to golds at pro cup (level 20 racers) I'm at level 16 and 550/100 to next unlock. Mike W lvl 27 with enough shards to hit L30 but short on upgrade coins, Sulley lvl 25 no more shards, Celia lvl 22 with 17 extra shards without upgrade coins to upgrade, Randall lvl 26 with 7 extra shards. $16 is a lot for these rewards especially after trying to soak us for $20 for 2 season golden oasses (spoiler alert I'm not buying part 2 gp out of protest to this seasonal double upcharge and because they're too cheap & lazy to even give 3 characters lines. I'll probably save my one remaining gp coin for NBX season probably around October). I'll be worse off for Lilo vault as I'm 3 shards short of even having Angel unlocked and with additional earned upgrade coins would only get Stitch to maybe L27 and Lilo/Gantu/Jumba to L20. Toy Story I could earn upgrade coins to get Woody & Jessie to L30, Bo Peep to L37 and still 6 shards from unlocking Buzz. So even with all my grinding, the tournaments would EACH require the $16 vault passes with 15 tier skips to complete rewards. Ridiculous. After sinking $40 into this game so far I'm now kinda past spending any more except maybe a golden pass for part 2 of NBX season in future. Only reason I wanted the current golden pass was because Vanellope is obviously the essential racer character for a Disney kart game. I probably should've just used my $40 towards a nirmal PS game that isn't P2w or should I say now given all the changes and shady rigging of Chapter races and worsening of questionably named 'ranked races' more accurately describe as 'Pay 2 Somewhat Enjoy'. With some blancing and fixing of bugs Speedstorm could've been a fun game to play with friends online that I would've shelled out $60 for if it was designed like a normal kart racer.

I think Disney speedstorm is trying to say don’t buy this and just play the game that’s probably why the prices are so high

I agree that tournaments are pretty good, my one speculation concern though, is that I find the fact it only goes to lvl 30.. strange. But will we think it's as good, if they do add lvl 40 and lvl 50 for tournament, especially since we are sort of starved for upgrade coins, and f2p a bit on the shards side. I don't have enough for sulley or randall currently to hit the level 30. But, they might not do it, so I suppose we will see! Also I agree, that one track needs to be 1 lap. It's over 4-5 minutes for low level characters!

I think you're seeing a lot of Vanellope because F2P players still had the ability to get a free pass for now. As the stocked pass credits run out you'll likely see the pass characters less and less. I personally got 7, and if I grinded everyone to Diamond I'd be able to get 3 more (likely won't, but will probably push for at least one more). If I get every pass for now, I'd run out in half a year, and most F2P players probably haven't grinded as much as I have. So I'd say expect to see a drop off in a few months. Just using them up and giving up on the game when I run out is tempting, but I think I'll be picking and choosing to save my credits. I definitely won't be getting Calhoun, and I don't love Inside Out so I'm considering skipping the passes all together. Partly because I'm curious to see how much of a snowball effect it will have in punishing me from being able to do events and the season tour which are the biggest concerns for me.

tournaments were not great at all. It should be better. Way better. Most important: we shoundn't be able to complete it all in 2 hours. It should be made to last for a long time

So gameloft is splitting disney speedstorms season 7 golden pass into 2 months and a half (that's 45 days for golden pass 1 and 2 individually) I want all the wreck it Ralph drivers I only unlocked fix it Felix for free should I buy golden pass part 1 in the next 2 days and save the season box coins for the next 2 season boxes for the other wreck it Ralph drivers after golden pass 2 realeases? I have over 200 blue coin credits saved up but I know after may 15th no more buying golden passes with blue credit coins which is a shame and weird.

I don't bother with the tournament. The free prizes are trash and I refuse to pay them more money for a pass

So would you recommend all free to play players buy the season pass credit pack with tokens grinded. I assume they will still be able to be used in the future. I currently have 1 already saved for next season and should have enough tokens to purchase another one in the coming days.

Positive and negative changes are always diffrent opinion, but negative changes are very fully complaining about lack of voice actors, spend upgrade coins, golden pass, etc, was very shame, maybe gameloft must think for now, bringing new updates disney speedstorm positive or negative so a, was not so easy to be fixed

Interesting, your 11k blue coins buy 42k purple coins... For me 11k blue buys 36k... So they give different discounts for different players...

Hey Skyliner Yup I am also in for the long haul as I put way too much time into this game already.

forgot to mention during my greedstorm rant about Vaults... Could we just get rid of the cheap freaking purple Hack Pow weapon of doom? The controls reversal is bad enough but the obscuring of the screen really messes with gamers like me who have serious vision issues. A great race can be derailed by me crashing into a wall / getting spun 180 and losing 5 to 10 seconds to fall in last place and need time to try to catch the pack again. (severely blurry bad cataract makes 1 eye effectively useless until I can afford operation, whilst my other 'good' eye has bad floater issues after having retinal tear & related laser work done a while back)

I didn't buy the vault pass and I was getting tickets every 20 minutes or so.

One of the worst updates and killed any excitement I had for the game
