Washburn MG-340 Custom with Gotoh Floyd+S.Duncan JB Model+SSL-4+GFS Alnico. Fast track played by Keiki Maia from Guitar Lions. www.guitarradebrasilia.com
Right on my Washburn playing brotha. I and my two MGs (MG94&MG30) salute you and thank you for your immense display of talent. Best regards and continued Washburn jamming. PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not all of them are plywood. There were differences in the run like 22 or 24 fret necks. I did a minor bit of routing to install a pickup, and it is basswood. Mine is a 22 fret neck.
Hi there! Sorry to disappoint you, but for Washburn, non-identified "hardwood" always means multiplex plywood. I already had a MG-340 but sold it after seeing the neck pocket and the other routes. Any KC or MG (I) guitar with number 3X or lower is plywood (or 3XX or lower for MGII series as yours). Sorry once again... :-/
Both Mercury series guitars are really nice, unfortunately the cost savings on the lower series dictated that the sustain will suffer somehow due to the multiplex plywood disguised as "hardwood" for obvious reasons. I'd advice you to get a 4X, 4XX or upper model made in Korea, they have even better necks than the MG340 which is yet slightly chuncky, or if you're located in the US, you have the chance to get US Mercury models at a very good price, either on eBay or local CraigList.
