Hey guys, want to know how to do you laundry and wash your clothes without detergent? today I decided to try and wash my clothes with berries! Well soap nuts or eco berries to be exact. These soap nuts are supposed to be the most natural detergent for your clothing! I was curious if they would hold up to the hype and actually get my clothes clean just like the usual laundry detergent.
I washed a regular load of laundry first, and then compared it with a load of laundry washed with soap nuts/soap berries/eco nuts. Ultimately my results were....well you'll just have to see : )
As always I wanted to see if what I buy is worth the money, so in this video I answer "Are soap nuts worth it, and do soap nuts work?"

A little background about using soap berries
The natural cleaning agent found in these berries is called saponin. Saponin works as a surfactant, breaking the surface tension of the water to penetrate the fibers of your clothing, lifting stains from the fabric, and leaving dirt suspended in the water that is rinsed away. Regular sort bought detergents contain chemical surfactants too, this is just a natural source. Despite the “soap” in its name, soap nuts DO NOT contain soap that causes soap scum and buildup like a regular bar of soap does.
