The Rivera Era is an example why not fixing the QB issue early will haunt the team. He knew year one Haskins wasnt the answer and he knew Smith wasn't the solution. What was his answer? Run it back with 40 year old Fitzy and Henike a career backups, trade for Wentz who had shown himself to be erratic go back to Henike then go for broke with Howell 2nd year man in a new offense and let the OC throw the ball 600 times.
The ONLY reason Smith wasn't "the answer" is because he got broken in the first game....if not for that, the Skins may have had a worthy starter for once...
@@grinningchicken Smith didn't need "dealing with"...he had plenty of experience and could have run the ship, leaving Rivera to focus on other aspects that needed attention.
There is a point when no one on the other side of the ball has enough game film to plan....once the opposing teams saw enough of him, he suddenly stopped being decent....because the D made adjustments and Howell wasn't good enough to compensate....he was already at his ceiling.
