I have lived in the Washington DC metro area for my whole life . I read a few of the your guys comments and here a respond to a few of your guys question Public transportation is the way to go . Stay in Maryland or Virginia and take the metro down to DC, Take your own bags to the stores there is bag tax in DC For Night Life go to DuPont Circle or Adams Morgen
Small city in area and population but the power is palpable. She is truly a beautiful city and have lived in many large American cities ans have been to every State. I love D.C., she evokes such pride in me.
Spent four days visiting the Capital. Left there convinced it should be a mandatory visit for every American. I’ve Been around the world it’s beautiful overseas but this is mine and it’s magnificent.
+Jake Zeringue I'm originally from DC, and I personally think it is absolutely worth the trip if you go, it is an amazing city, though be warned that the people there aren't exactly the nicest in the country. Either way, though, if someone offers you a trip there, go!
+KhAnubis Productions my grandfather is a retired US Post Master for the post office and he gets to go every once in awhile he been doing it since the 80's till this day He said he was lucky to go before 9-11 cause they couldn't tour and see as much as they used to in the White House now.Id so go but I'd have to pay my way to go.Honestly though I don't I'd ever have to opportunity to go hate to be a Debby downer about that.
Jake, you really should try to go. It's a beautiful city overall but a small one. I suggest October or November or early April when the cherry blossoms bloom along the Tidal Basin by the Jefferson Memorial. Summer can be brutal with humidity and Winter isn't always the best.
The capital of the the US has to be impressive and it is. This city is impressively laid out (similar to Canberra, Australia) and also endowed with a lot of monuments. I always love well planned - purposed-built cities with abundance of greenery throughout.
Expedia thanks, I'm sure we will. Showed this video to my husband last night and he loved it also. Great Job. I've wanted to go to Washington for many decades and can hardly believe I will actually be there shortly.
@Unique Angel wdym. You have an immigration crisis in europe with muslims. You guys in europe are the real racists lol. Keep following your easterner news
All the things to do are great, but remember you can only do them once. I live here and it’s fine but if you want to feel like you’re in a real city drive 4 hours along I 95 up to NYC!
I visited DC just before Christmas. I had always wanted to visit there. It feels really cool that you're in the same city with the world's most powerful people lol
fantastic videos seeing them I recollected my memories of these places i had visited in june2010 how I wish to get a chance to once again visit these places
I'll be visiting America from the UK for the first time in September. I'm going there for a couple of weeks. I'll be going to Seattle, Boston and Washington DC. Anyone want to be a Tour Guide for a couple of British guys for a couple of days in DC?
man I really want to go here my family is trying to decide between an expensive east coast trip, a yosemite trip witch as a northern Californian I have to do, or a Seattle trip they all look great but I just would love to see the culture and history of the East Coast it seems so cool.
What a beautiful city! I will go back to visiting DC frequently, once the covid crisis is over. Ever since the covid crisis started, I've barely gone to DC. I live in the Greater DC Area, just 15 miles away from the city!
I visited Washington DC whilst on a trip to New York in 2010, it is only a short cheap bus ride away. I would certainly recommend visiting as it is high and beauitiful with free museums and lot's of history. Washington DC is one of the most stunning and clean cities I have visited.
I'm a New Yorker, but I've been to DC many times: The World War II Memorial is awesome The Smithsonian Air and Space Museum is probably the most popular Smithsonian museum (and it does get crowded on weekends and holidays) I haven't been to the Botanic Garden, but I've heard great things about it. During the Christmas holiday, they have a model train show I haven't been to the Newseum. Note that it is NOT a Smithsonian Museum and it cost money to get in (ditto for the International Spy Museum) Skip Georgetown. There's nothing that stands out about it and it's a 20 minute walk from the nearest Metro station (Foggy Bottom/GWU) The Zoo is cool. I've been there once. The famous panda spends most of the day sleeping and generally comes out only in the morning. If you're taking the Metro to the Zoo, take it to Cleveland Park and walk downhill There are a bunch of shops and restaurants at Union Station, Pentagon City Mall, and Tysons Corner Mall. The DC Metro is generally reliable (though it has its bad days) and clean, albeit expensive.
I live in Washington DC and can I just say that are the government buildings and stuff are not the only things you should see, Here's a list of other cool places. 1. Rock Creek park 2. 6 Flags 3. Eastern Market. and while your in Washington you have to go to Good Stuff Eatery in capital hill it's like the best place to eat there
It was my first time in Washington, D.C. and I was super amazed with its beauty. By watching this video, I realized that I should come back and visit other spots that I had not visited before. This a place that everyone must visit! 😍
It's wonderful that they're Japanese metropolitan Tokyo and center of the different politics and the history, and Washington feels. When there is a chance, I'd like to visit by all means.
Damn don't get me started I live in DC we be lit and all. The places you see here are just the peaceful places you should the South side and North east.
I went to DC a few week ago. Thaught I wouldn't like it...boy was I wrong. I loved it. Wish I could find a good job there, would move there in a heartbeat.
That's how it is if you live anywhere: what outsiders find fascinating, you find completely plain. Whenever I travel and tell people I live in LA, they instantly get jealous because I see the Hollywood sign everyday driving to work and am located only 40 minutes away from Disneyland. To locals, those are just places.
Washington, founded July 16th,1790. My hometown in Germany already was 572 years old at that time. But Washington now looks like a typical city in Europe. Churches are the tallest buildings there. No skyscrapers.
dc is a cool place lots of free things to do. when we fly in we fly into dca and Catch the blue line to the metro center where the grand hyatt is right under neath. you can walk subway or bus it up. you can catch the yellow line to old town Alexandra and explore there and catch the water ferry to the national harbor on the Maryland side. it's always vet nice where we stay and near everything. How ever I will warn do not care the green line at night. me and my wife did and we got off at anacostia by the AFB,but the navy yard should be your stop for the Nat's games and of course navy yard.
Indonesia just announced that it will build a new capital city. Excited to see how the new capital looks like in 10 years and how it represents the country’s diversity. 🇮🇩
This city is beautiful. It is supposed to be “Americas Paris”. Theres a height restriction on buildings, making the Washington monument stand out. Also making it very urban and the streets very difficult to navigate. Very beautiful at night. With plenty of bars and nightclubs.
Congratulations Washington DC citizens for having such a beautiful city !!! I hope to visit Washington this year or very early next year, it's gonna be by car from Mexico City :)
M J Godbout I guess people who live far from DC see the city differently. I live in Alexandria just a few minutes south of DC and most people around me despise it
Yes, most of us are dumb. I guess that is what made us a global power in basically one-hundred or so the past century which I believe is much faster than any other country in history. Tell me, why do so many foreign students come to our colleges and Universities if we're SO dumb a country?! Surely, foreigners should stay in their own country since they're so much smarter. Do the United States a favor. Stay in your own country. We don't need or want you here. We love our country and the beauty of our Capital City despite our national problems which every country has.
Actual as far as military power, yes the most powerful as a single country however we're behind in almost everything like education. therefore as a people and experience going through elementary to college yeah many Americans are dumb as hell. then again, it's not their fault its the education system.
Went there when I was 5 years old. I was given my own disposable camera. I just took random pictures of shit including the ground, lol. Went again at 9 years of age. Still have a toy airplane from the Air & Space Museum. Maybe one day, I'll visit again.
About 10 years ago an ex and I walked from about the Washington Monument to the Capitol Building. There were less than a handful of people out that night, and they were all leaving. The two of us walked down the middle of the grass lawn in almost complete silence outside of our whispers. It was odd to see a place so lively during the day become so empty at night. It was a peaceful and romantic setting though and we took advantage of it.
This video made me wanna visit DC and I did! I loved it, especially the capitolium and it's view over the mall and the Washington monument. I also loved the area around the train station, China town, Georgetown and the riverfront. I wish I didn't spend as much time visiting the monuments in the mall because it was a little disappointing in an otherwise great city. Wish I would've made time for museums instead. But definitely recommend a visit!
Thank you! And yes so do I, even though our president is kind of crazy, but it's okay because we can vote him out if he doesn't do a good job by 2020. And yes good luck with your goal :)
Great introduction to the Nation's capital. The monuments are incredibly power - a well known Trip Hack most locals know is to sure to see them at night!
I live in Medellín City. But I like the United States of American. I want to know U.S. Washington D.C. Is wonderfull. Greets since Medellín City, Colombia. GOD blessed you.
