As a Washingtonian I can’t believe I never once heard this growing up, it perfectly describes my state. I may not be there at the moment but wherever I may roam, it is my native land. And thanks for remembering us
We sang this song all the time in elementary school. For me, that was 1957 to 1960. I liked his version but would prefer a 3rd grade class singing it as that is how I remembered it. I thought of Mrs. Webber, my 3rd grade teacher at Fife Elementary.
It used to be that everyone learned how to sing the state song in elementary school. The one year we did not live in Washington, I would sing it to myself all the time.
