I was in Grade 6 in 2006 at Tuempinka Community School near Kainantu EHP when this song became a hit on the radio. During lunchtime one day, I remember walking to a nearby canteen to buy a wopa biscuit only to find out that someone had taken my money out from my bilum. Hopeless and hungry I just stood there watching other kids buying and eating their food. I was far from home and family and was living with some people who are not part of our family and that was the only money my mother gave me to manage for the whole term🥺. Standing near the canteen lost and hopeless, I heard this song playing in the canteen and I started feeling tears flowing down my face profusely. Now I am doing my master's degree in Europe and listening to the same song brings back all those bitter-sweet memories from 20 years ago.
Old is gold and yea, recalled my childhood days, i used to escort my big brothers and uncle while listenting to this music on a Two speaker radio on a casette
