Yeah the Mirrored Jewels event came out of nowhere, and yet a few people seemed to know it was coming? Totally bizarre, as it wasn’t in patch notes either. 🙃
On what you call the Hellscape map run of Elder rifts, I am right there with you on them because they take so much more time to run on average vs the other maps. But what I do is, once I spawn in and see that it is one of those maps (both Elder & Challenge rifts), I immediately go back through the portal, and re-enter. I'll reclaim my crests from mail when done or in the interim if I'm low and needing them in the present time.
I gave GZ feedback recently, since he was also considering replacing his mother’s lament. Mother’s is one of the best dps gems, whose crit chance stacks with that of roiling consequence. I would expect it to win over grim rhythm, especially for the lengths of time you continuously fight most dungeon and raid bosses (keeping in mind invulnerability phases). If you want to rank up grim rhythm to test it vs mother’s lament, that would certainly be interesting for science. But I would suggest paying attention to the amount of time you continuously attack bosses, and do dummy tests for approximately those lengths. Personally, the only bosses I tend to continuously attack for more than 5 or 10 sec are in high challenge rifts or gauntlet.
Thank you! Yeah I like that Mother’s Lament and Roiling stack, which is the reason for using both in the first place. I definitely wouldn’t replace it permanently, but I’d be looking at using Grim over Lament in things like raids and Challenge Rifts. I like to test things out before making a decision, which is why I never scrapped my Viper’s Bite after swapping it out for Seeping Bile. I’m not a hoarder, but I like options and accurate tests. Of course, I could test Grim as an auxiliary gem, but when it’s not giving the full capability of the gem at rank 10, it seems like a wasted effort. I’ll definitely share a video when I test them both out!
I was also thinking of replacing Mother's Lament, but not sure if I should. I have Roiling Consequence and Pain Clasp too which work well with it. But it's the only gem that I have which I would replace.
Haha I already learned these mistakes over and over from watching you, Echo, Mau, GZ, other Diablo Immortals youtubers. 😂 The only best thing to use them is during MIRRORED DROPS event. That one still not good but at least when you get 5★ gem, it will be doubled in a sense but I hope it would be simply All X2 Drops so it affects to 1-2★ gems as well. We also need them as upgrade materials.
Just did mirror event. Got 20 of 1 star gems. They get their way to motivate you to not spend / purchse crests. For Sure not purchasing anything further this month.

However it just keep being disappointing and I dunno if they actually think 10 extra 1 star gems will makes us happy and jump off our chairs. I always say this time is gonna be better .. I need to lower my expectations next time.
It’s definitely worth trying to keep track of each time you get a 5* gem so you know when your next guaranteed one is. I just get impatient and enjoy running crests. 🤣😭
I dropped 50 bucks on payday to buy 20 legend purple crests. And all I got was one and two star gems I could have crafted. I had another 50 bucks I was going to put on it. But considering the bad run I got I decided to save my money and just play the free to play parts of the game
Reading those comments about mirrored jewels make no sense to me, I didn't saw anything about mirrored event in the last patch notes. Maybe I'm blind or stupid 😅😅

Archbishop Lazarus server. I don’t do Live streams as my in game chat is always super busy, and I play on mobile so it’s kind of hard to censor the chat box. Plus, I don’t think many would watch. 🤣
@TheOnlyRicia ya i cant get the ones i need so often just buy up some of the maws since cheap to level it up some partially. I think I accidently ate the wrong 5 few weeks back costing me another gem to awaken. I got a spiteful im trying to sell since no use to me
I like getting 1 star for my alts, my main can snipe for 400 each 😊 I will wait next week because there's a chance for getting new leg gems in the next update, it's always high price the first days.
I totally felt your pain, had the same happen to me and was seriously disappointed. Why can't they make it so that the treasure goblin drops platinum, I got over 70 mil in gold that's just sitting there collecting dust.
