2019-20 "only 48 goals"... he would definetely gotten 55+ goals if the regular season would not been cancelled. Ovi has been unlucky first hitting 49 goals and then 48 goals. If he would got 3 more he would have 10× 50 goal seasons. More than anyone else. Most likely he will not see 50 ever again. He is 36 in next season and yeah he has declined bit and teams extra focus on him now. I can be wrong thought maybe he gets 50 next season but most likely not.

@@pena380 That's true, he missed out on an almost certain 50 last season. The 2020.21 is not going to allow 50 goals. Will be interesting to see how much he can move up in the 700 goal club. Before Covid I would have said 800 in 2 seasons was possible now thinking it will be hard in 3seasons to reach 800 in 2023-24

But if he has strong peak like usually in some part of the season then I see him getting 35+ goals this season. 2017 he did 7 goals in 2 games. 2018 he did 17 goals in 15 games he had 6 goals in 2 games in that streak. Last season he had 17 goals in 10 games. Over 40 goals however is unlikely even if he has strong peak. At least he should have 735+ goals end of the season. I predicted last season that he would have 760-770 goals at the end of 2021 season. But that's was before covid when he was on pace to get 60 goals last season.

Pierre Tremblay Laine is 20, and has had 2 seasons. Ovi has 13 years more experience, started at 21 in a time with many 50 goal scorers. Laine is the new ovi in a league which is now more difficult to score in than it was. 44 goals at 19 is incredible.

So yeah he can retire with 731-46 goals after this season... But I think he olay at least 3 more years. So I think he can get 40-49 next season. 35-45 after that and 30-35 on his last season. So then he gets around 836-865 goals.
