Watch and Learn Beadwork Tutorial

Sometimes the best way to learn is to watch someone do it then try it yourself. One important thing I forgot to mention until the end of the video is that the needle used to tack down the beads has a loose end thread. It’s loose so there is a single thread in between the beads tacking them down rather than a double thread. Always make sure to pull the thread all the way through so the loose end stays loose
Supply list:
Nymo Nylon thread size D
Size 11/0 seed beads
John James Sharpes size 10 needle
John James Sharpes size 12 needle
Pellon Peltex 70
Graph paper
Scissors

When i do 2 strand lazy stich....I use black beading thread as my "tie down" strand. It's WAY easier to see what thread your using. Especially when l was a beginner😊 l found it super convenient to learn one strand first (my preferred stich) because sooner or later one strand will knock at your beading door. If you run short on your tie down thread It's much easier to just back stich using your main thread... A great tip i learned from my auntie. If you need to bust a bead/remove a bead in your work. Don't just grab your needle nose pliers and bust away. Put the biggest needle possible in the bead you want to bust. The needle inside the bead stops your threads from fraying or breaking.

So sorry 😒 my 🐈 just took my phone ha! Anyways, what l was trying to say was that I was looking for someone to maybe help me to get a clue how to stitch anything from your culture and you are the most fantastic lady l could find. I just wanted you to know that I am totally useless no more with a needle and you are the reason. What you do is so amazing for someone like me and I totally love you for it. thanking you for gifting beadwork to someone like me you make my soul happy xxx

Do you have a video showing how to attach the medallion to the head band. I never had to. My mom or dad always took pride in doing my sons beadwork. But now their both passed on. And now I need to learn this so I can do this myself for my 4 sons.

Hi Teresa, love your tutorials...such a gentle spirit you have...I went to the store and there is no such thing as Pellon 70! there are multiple numbers...can you post them thanks

There’s not?? Oh crap! I don’t know the other numbers 😬. I’d feel the stabilizer and make sure it’s flexible enough to bead on and stable enough to hold its shape. You’ll be able to tell! If it’s too soft the beadwork will weigh it down and warp it. If it’s too stiff it might be hard to bead on

I have lots of questions. Do you fill in the medallion one colour at a time or just ensure the different colours string up perfectly? That being said, do you fill in the medallion one row at a time or continue in the circular? I'm just so confused.

What do you have the graph paper on? Felt?
@twowolfstudio538
@twowolfstudio538 2 года назад
It’s called Pellon. It’s a fabric stabilizer you can find in most fabric stores. This one I’m beading on is called pellon peltex 70

So....what happens to the graph paper when you're done?
@twowolfstudio538
@twowolfstudio538 2 года назад
It will probably disintegrate over time but it won’t affect the beadwork. I will tear off the outer edge of paper that’s showing before backing and edging it
