I have to say that the 3 years warranty with 0 dead pixels policy looks juicy compared to the other monitors with the same panel (2 years, 3 bright/5 dark)
for those who can't afford this price point, i suggest getting cooler master tempest gp27q. its 1440p 27 inch min led 165hz. I just bought 1 and it looks very good!
Hm…I’ve been reading some things about that one and another I’ve found around that same price point, Innocn 27M2V, which is 4k, 160hz 27inches with FALD and mini led as well. However the main difference between the two and why I’m might get the Innocn is because the Innocn has double the Local dimming zones than most mini led monitors (1152 zones versus half that on other products). It’s black levels are being compared to oled in every review and comment I’ve seen so far. Just wondering what your thoughts are about this and whether you believe it would be a good choice lol
That meta panel function looks perfect to work together with Black Frame Insertion features, does it has one? I think it's the best feature a modern monitor could have.
Nice review. In my country this Corsair monitor costs 1199€ which is 100€ more than the LG 27 OLED monitor. I'm hesitating between the two. What do you think?
Hey thank you justin for this. I'm sorry I'm not a native speaker, but may you tell something about office work with that monitor, is that ok? Did you test it? Thank you!
@Hogan, yes it will work and look amazing for Office Work but the menus and toolbars and other things that will stay on screen for long periods of time will cause some unwanted burn-in after a few years
I think this monitor uses the same panel as the LG Oled. I had to return the LG, it is too dim when playing SDR content. Not worth it $1000 when the LG can be bought right now for $880.
My 45" LG 45GR95QE-B can get eye-searing bright in SDR mode and it's basically a 45" 21:9 version of the same monitor/panel. After tweaking it correctly, it gets awesome bright. Lights up my entire wall behind me. You have to set it up correctly with the correct settings and, on top of that, 3 extra settings in the service menu which can be accessed with a 7 dollar LG service remote.
Hello mate, excellent content. Do you think that such a monitor is appropriate for content creation, office use and gaming is a good idea? I was thinking of buying an Oled monitor but I still haven't decided... I like the LG Oled 27" what do you think?
I know you are an alienware fan.. me too.. Do you think that they will cover a 48" (16:9) or a larger 42" (21:9) monitor? Also.. will you be covering (or covered) the new and super expensive Alienware 9xx keyboard?
@Patriarchy of the western cat realm . They haven't informed me of one yet but I think they should! They make some great monitors. My next full review is the Alienware AW3423DWF OLED Monitor . So far it's incredible!
@@JustinTechTips Cant wait for it! Thanks for your content so far! What will be better (for me) will be the 38" I am currently using AW34" and it has been awesome.. long hours usage for 3 years now without burn in and all.. and am looking for bigger screen from AW..
@@JustinTechTips Alientware is a waste in terms of motion clarity. The sample-and-hold refresh method that OLED unfortunately emplys (like LCD does) is a huge motion-clarity bottleneck until you get to around the 180-200 Hz/fps range. Maybe 170. Below that, it doesn't matter how fast the OLED's pixel response times are, the motion-clarity is bottlenecked. Once you get to the 190-200 Hz/fps area though, then the OLED motion clarity superiority can easily be seen. At 240 Hz/fps, the difference is bigger still. At 240 Hz/fps, OLED motion clarity is about that of a fast TN LCD in around the 400-500 Hz/fps range, but under 170-ish Hz/fps, there's basically no difference because of the sample-and-hold refresh method being too much of a bottleneck.
I just bought my vary first PC… an this was it…I (SPENT 3200) for (head phones)(camera) (mouse) (key bored) they had no bundle package all this is sold separately..
I switched from the LG 27 OLED to the Alienware Aw3423dw and the difference is immense, but that has more to do with QD-Oled technology rather than the glossy coating
@@dagmarreyes7570 Why did you even decide to switch to the alienware one after using the LG 27 OLED? what made you think, I should give the alienware one a try?
@@freestyler7117 the main reason was because of the QD-OLED, it's way brighter and very rich in colors, HDR pops out more than in the LG. It has a semi-glossy pannel which makes image clearer. It's the first time I own an ultrawide monitor but I got use to it very quickly, matter of fact it nows feels weird playing on regulat 16:9 monitors after playing in ultrawide. Overall I'm very pleased with the decision I made.
I'm stuck between this and the Xenon 32 inchi IPS 4K. The only problem I have with this one is the small size. 27 is too small for gaming. Wish it would have been bigger. I love oled very much. What should I chose between Xenon Oled and Xenon 32 4K IPS?
Since it has both usb c input and display port.. Does it support easy switching between like a work laptop and gaming pc without having to unplug a bunch of things? That's a pretty big deal for me and why I did not go with the lg oled 27 :(
Very late answer, but yes. It has a KVM-switch. You need to connect your peripherals to the usb-ports on the monitor, then one of your machines with the USB-C and then you need to connect the other machine to the upstream-usb port and either hdmi or DP. When you change input source on the monitor, your keyboard, mouse and whatever else you've connected to the monitor will also change.
you can see it though... I will know if I am at 144 or 100 or 120. Its still smooth at 100 but 144 is smoother. Its not as crazy a jump as going from 60 to 120 or 144, but 240 and 360 are smoother.
Not true at all. Unfortunately, with regards to motion clarity, OLED is a waste at anything under around 170 or 180 Hz/fps as the sample-and-hold method of refreshing the screen which OLED unfortunately uses (as does LCD) means the OLED's way faster pixel response times are bottlenecked by the sample-and-hold refresh method. Once you get to around 200 Hz/fps, then you really start seeing the motion clarity difference between OLED & LCD, and even more so at 240 Hz/fps. The motion clarity of OLED at 240 Hz/fps is around the same as a fast TN LCD at around the 400-500 Hz/fps range.
Oled text clarity and brightness is a no for me. Unless youre playing games 100% if the time, i wouldnt recommend it. I had the lg oled for 4 month and the experience was terrible. Got rid of it for dirt cheap and now swapping out for the neo g8
Hi there i wanted to ask how the brightness on the monitor is? .I had the lg one and it was way to dark for me i tried everything and returned it afterwards i also owned the asus one for a few days but it got dead pixels after just 5 days and had no hdmi 2.0 port. Would you say that the brightness is better than the lg panel and as good as the asus one? Would be good to know :D
@@RaikaSTi hdmi 2.0 is kinda dissapointing for this price range and most modern oled tvs even the ones from 2020 own hdmi 2.1 to reach the full potential and be future proof.Asus never provides hdmi 2.1 except for some pro art displays and the oled 42/48 inch ones
240hz and faster is all companies can do now to convince you that "gaming" screens are better than tvs for gaming. When in reality, you're not going to notice the difference in speed between this and a 120hz Samsung QDOLED. I rather have the bigger tv
Its on the 25-27 inch monitors that ropes people in. Not a pro in the world playing on any other size and most people spending this kind of money are doing it because its their job. Normal gamers that aren't K/D obsessed can play on whatever they want
I prefer my Corsair Flex. 👍😎 Though I wish it had an Nvidia G-Sync module that could handle 240 Hz and DisplayPort 2.x. My prior monitor was a 32-in Acer. My Dell OLED 175 Hz was the equivalent of a 27-in which to me is too small. All I play is Call of Duty and I do plan on a competitive level so the bigger the better. CPU-Z J8P8UR CPU-Z 9MM3CZ
Displayport 1.4 can do 240 Hz with DSC. Also, HDMI 2.1 can do it without DSC. It doesn't have an Nvidia G-Sync module but why do you need DP 2.x for 240 Hz? I have the 45" LG 45GR95QE-B. 240 Hz works perfect in, both, HDMI and DP modes. You can even get Nvidia DSR working at the full 240 Hz with non-DSC HDMI 2.1 and non-DSC DP 1.4 after a few tweaks.
@@macberg5806 defects, or what Corsair described as defects. Rapid USB Drop Outs, wouldn’t have the issue with ASUS plugged into the same USB Port on the PC with same Cable. Picture was nice, I still prefer the OLED. The UI was gimmicky and slow.
"You are not even want to get a super bright panel in the dark enviroment" - agreed. 3 years warrianty for burn in? Awesome. Matte oled finish, not glossy? No buy, never - make a glossy screen and i will consider to look at it.
@@jared6531 oleds should be always glossy, or super glossy, makes no sense to by an oled otherwise, at least have a matte, semi-matte option and glossy.
the bad thing about OLED gaming monitors: 1: dead pixel, 30 days or 14 days to return, or replace, warranty will cover 5 dead pixels, its hard to replace it under warranty sometimes . 2: OLED displays have shorter life than lcd monitors. 3: Expensive, you can get lcd cheaper option instead of OLED if you're on a budget.
@@HeadObserver 3 years warranty for 0 dead pixels and no burn-in. That's the main reason why I'm considering this Corsair one over the ASUS ROG PG27AQDM. The ASUS monitor uses the same WOLED panel, but has a higher brightness... at the risk of burn-in (and it's 200 bucks more expensive). ASUS warranty doesn't cover burn-in at all.
Most competitive gamers are still on 24inch. 27 inch is a nice middle ground. Me personally curved just gives me motion sickness so this is more my speed. I ain't no esports pro lol
I don't give a single f*ck about the rest of any features. What any monitor that is matte finished deserves is to be pissed on and thrown in the landfill.
