My great-grandfather landed at Utah Beach 80 years ago today. I am forever grateful for the sacrifices he and his whole generation made for our nation and the whole world. God bless these veterans. No matter what goes on in our country, the heroism of these men will always make me proud to call myself an American! 🇺🇸

As USUAL he talks about himself and the libs. President Trump spoke about the amazing sacrifice of thousands that gave all for our freedom. How can anyone with any thought process vote for Biden?

Wonderful speech. I am 61 and had older parents who lived through the Depression and this terrible time of war., My mother lost brothers and my father, despite a dream-like popularity in High School, missed his graduation to sign up for the Navy in 1945. They understood hardships and patriotism. They expressed a level of deep felt appreciation for their lives in the United States and had a level of decency and ethics deep in their souls. I took their duties as citizens seriously - voting, paying taxes, and keeping up with the news. Am thinking too many younger than me have little association with this generation. Yes they had their prejudices of the time to a certain degree, but they also had this basic respect for everyone and reached out to those who needed help in a time of need. I know they did not have to serve in Vietnam, a time period when a level of cynicism and resentment may be justified to an extent and I do remember hearing disappointment in Nixon at family reunions and long gas lines in the late 70s. However, they persevered without the level of self-pity I see with citizens today who feel any level of inconvenience as somehow life threatening. I will never understand how so many in my country have lost sight of the need to compromise and move forward together. I pray more in our nation somehow wake up to the ridiculousness of our self-serving internal divisiveness and stop the strange, yet dangerous and evil forces that want to tear down our institutions and go backwards.
