During a City of Cape Town council sitting on Thursday, Cape Coloured Congress (CCC) leader Fadiel Adams accused DA councillors of corruption before the meeting descended into a shouting match.
Adams was asked to leave the chamber after he claimed that there was corruption in the City's supply chain management department.
But DA councillor Elton Jansen snapped at him and demanded evidence of his claims.
"I am not a criminal. I would like you (Adams) to refrain from calling us criminals," Jansen retorted.
Eventually, Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis had to intervene. The mayor said Adams had slandered councillors without any proof.
