Me too! I love how his voice has transformed over the years and am so grateful to of found his music. Fragile bird on the radio was the first time I ever heard him, loving it ever since!
This video came up in my feed. I’ve never heard of this band or Dallas Green. This touches my soul. I fell asleep last night with headphones on. Thank you ,universe.
WOW. The best live performance I’ve seen from you guys!!! The VOICES!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve always missed the back vocals in your live shows….you NAILED it. Big shout out the the keyboard player. What a great musician.
Meant To Be This song, man. I'm in tears just thinking about the loss. Family and friends, past and future. I've not been religious in years... so I think a lot about what could be... the sadness and pain are the same... Beautiful tune... thank you.
Dallas may very well be one of the true hidden gem singer/songwriter and overall (underrated) performers of the last ~10-20 years. AOF is not everyone's cup of tea (I personally love them), but surprised City has not blown up even bigger in NA.
All three things can be true: The mix is absolutely phenomenal and the band's performance is out of this world with some of the best sounding gear you can get.
You can feel the pain and grief everyone in band and crew are feeling from this loss. Some of the most powerfully emotionally charged music I have ever witnessed!!!! I loved city and colour before, however this set of music is on a whole other level
This album "The Love Still Held Me Near" is a masterpiece... it's a shame that Dallas can't bring City and Colour to Portugal outside of a summer festival context. I would love to watch this band play in a proper venue here in Portugal.
I want to see this Album and You Guys Live @@VinylMusicHall or @SoulKitchen I needed to find this tonight! Thank You and if you fly into PNS say Hello, free Hugs!!! To the customer that came in when we were almost closed I'm Sorry!!! We are scheduled on departures not delays. You had Bob Marley in your eyes!❤️💛💚🎼✌️ Xo!!!
Thats a great opening speech and beard. I'd rather sing play guitar with him over his friend Pink...I got major feels and strong vibes from We Found Each Other In The Dark All Alone (sad face)
That sound engineer put on a masterclass in mixing. The instrument separation and tone on everything is absolutely perfect! I’d love to see this released in some form of physical audio!
@@B1INK all the musical talent and millions of dollars worth of equipment won't get you sound like that without an extremely talented engineer behind the board. I absolutely love Dallas and the boys, but you got to give credit where credit is due.
Man cant imagine loosing a son..my condolences ..at 66 I'm going to be sad for my son when i go..he always says don't talk about it..I know it wont be easy for him some day..like it was when my dad passed...Life man...if it don't hurt sometime too we aint living!
First song in, this is the line up. This is the group I think he’s been needing this whole time. What a fantastic album, unreal sound. I hope Dallas sticks with these guys, this might be his best record yet, I can’t imagine anything topping this.
I remember listening to “Save your Scissors” in high school battling depression, “What Makes a Man?” As I found myself in college, and “As Much as I ever Could” when I met the love of my life. I could never imagine City and Colour making a song that fails to show me light in darkness. Thank you for everything!
That's a beautiful comment. Their music moves me deep in my soul. I listen to a lot of tunes everyday and City and Colour is a frequent favorite because so many of Dallas's songs and the band's performances are pure pleasure of the senses.
I was really late to the game. The first song I heard with Dallas' voice on it was "Day Old Hate" in 2010, and I was already in college. Still, his music has become THE soundtrack to my life. Dallas Green's music has forever changed the course of my life. He's an incredible artist.
I think “pretty good” is a massive understatement. Also, I’m not sure that imagining him doing anything other than what he’s doing would add anything 😎🙏👍

I've watched this 1000 times, well listened realistically, and not enough love is given to Poolhall. the fkn bass work in this performance is amazing. 111/10 will watch again
@@theholisticmachine1493 well the name city and colour for one. Also, every line of his songs has “me, I, my” and that song dave your scissors. Come on. Everyone that I meet falls in love with me. Come on.
@@maxpower6706 guess that makes 99% of authors, poets, singer song writers, and motivational speakers all narcissistic be ause they have a view point, lol.
@@theholisticmachine1493 you think 99% of authors, poets, singer song writers, and motivational speakers think everybody that’s meets them loves them. Ok.
This album is incredible, but "Bow down to love" is a literal masterpiece. The way it builds and then each member is able to play so emotionally through their instrument, wow.
Great end to a solid set. Would have loved to have some Gibson growl in one of the three Fender solos to mix up the dynamics -- but that's just personal. This was a top-notch production.✌️
Agreed. I saw them open for Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and this set (amongst other online stuff recently) - they sound so good in a huge stadium and in a quiet, intimate setting. Fantastic.
Wow...love this line up...been watching Dallas for many years and this particular performance made my eyes sweat tears of gratitude that he is finally getting the recognition that he deserves and he is really just starting to peak. He has changed his band mates so many times but this line up is by far my favorite. I have been a musician all my life and I can spot that high you get when everybody in your band is just vibing and feeling it like they did during this performance. So thankful to have seen this. I believe there is a lot more of this to come.
Credit to the previous lineups he’s had, they’ve been good. This is the one. Best band in Canada right now, and Dallas just keeps getting better with age.
So true... i think in this lineup they sound really as a band. Sometimes (previous one's) i had the feeling that it is "Dallas and the Band", but now for me it's City an d Colour as it's best!
"I was missing my friend....so how do I carry on?" That lyric hits so hard, I lost my best friend to a drunk driver 7 years ago and it still hurts. I saw City and Colour live this year and it was nothing short of incredible.
They're very niche and their shows, while absolutely astounding, do not do well in a live festival atmosphere. It doesn't move people energetically, but very much so spiritually. Much more suited for intimate venues.
This is the first time I'm hearing from this band, so I don't know any of their music. But my god, this mixing is immaculate. I couldn't help but stay. I will definitely tune in to more of their record.
I agree, have heard Dallas before, started with his AiC cover of Nutshell and couple years ago, Rain when I die, which is brilliant! Just found this and think I have sent it to 25-30 people since last night. This is amazing, vocals, the band, the sound mix is flawless!
I seriously just discovered this band less than a month ago and will see them live in just over a week and can't wait! I'm trying to soak up all the amazing music that all their albums bring in the meantime!
Awesome! You should also check out his earlier band Alexisonfire. They are early 2000's screamo and Dallas Green does the singing parts. City and Colour is his side project. The name comes straight from his name, literally a city and a colour
Sound better live than the album or any RU-vid video will provide. You will absolutely love seeing them. Was hoping to make the hike north to see them, hoping they come south again sometime.
Two Coins, one of my favourite songs of all time. Years back working in cocktail bars, it was the inspiration behind one of my most successful drinks. A clarified/clear bloody mary, with a gold leaf wrapped 'coin' of freeze dried tomato pulp that the customer would place in the glass that transformed it to its red colour... 'Just put two coins upon my eyelids, So I can pay the poor man's toll'
Lost one of the most important people in my life 13 years ago and found City and Color body in a box, been a fan of Dallas ever since, I love You and Me too. I just lost one of my best friends 6 days ago and found this too ❤
That feeling when you are from Russia and dream at least one day to hear this sound live. The amazing growth of the artist and the versatility of vocals - love since the time of Alexisonfire and forever) Thanks to the team and everyone involved in this concert, Dallas for the creativity that comes from the soul 🤍
I’m so grateful that CBC was here to record this performance so those of us not in Vancouver, who were unable to attend, still get to experience it. Thank you from the heart. This is phenomenal! The Love Still Held Me Near is absolutely my favourite album release of the year. 🎶🎸

I have a 11 month old daughter who does not fall asleep easily. For the past few weeks this video has been my ace in the hole. After three or four songs she's usually out. Thank you Dallas for making such beautiful music🙏
My 15 month is the same!! Gets played every night before bed. He actually started trying to sing the chorus from 'We Found Each Other In The Dark'. It's the cutest thing man
