Red Breast 12 Cask Strength is one of my favorites, not just Irish, but any whisky. Jameson Black Barrel is a great whisky as well. Had a bar tender recommend it in Las Vegas after I said i dont really like Jameson, she turned my life around haha

Black Barrel, like regular Jameson, is primarily Single Grain Whiskey (Coffey/Continuous Still), with a little bit (~5%) Single Pot Still Whiskey, blended together in first-fill Bourbon barrels, then rebarreled in recharged Bourbon barrels.

I love both of these Irish whiskies! The Red Breast CS is the way to for me instead of these two. Triple distilled is important. The process is really interesting! Jameson is good whiskey even though it takes some criticism! I like a couple of expressions that give a nice punchy feel! Red Breast is more sophisticated for me! Great comparison!

My boss put me on to Black Barrel about 2 years ago after a trip to Ireland. A bartender recommended it to him once he realized he was American. My bottle is gone, so that means I liked it. Lol

@@WhiskeyPop I can’t speak for everybody but I’ve never heard of those whiskeys before! They do sell it though in the liquor store however with delivery it’s probably twice as much as Jamison black barrel but maybe I’ll give it a shot if you say it’s good

I was always a regular Jamie. Then tried the Black barrel. Gosh what a shock. Sharp Edge with a strong smell of paint stripper. Had to air it a bit. Tried the Tullamore DEW. Totally gorgeous in comparison. Gonna go for the Red Breast next. BTW why are you playing Scotland the Brave in the background whilst tasting Irish?

@Ethan Carter Black Barrel is a nice bourbon meets Irish Whiskey to us. Have you tried Natterjack its another Irish whiskey that is like bourbon process/meets pot still process?

Love the channel! I have the same 1UP Pacman Arcade machine and stool! So cool!!! I’m gonna pick up the Black Barrel for a taste test with the original. I love many Irish Whiskeys (Mainly Bushmills), many Bourbons (Woodford Double Oak, Bulliet and Buffalo Trace at the moment), and many Scotchs (Laphroaig and Glengoyne are near the top).

@Mark Rea welcome to Whiskey POP! Yeah you will not be disappointed with Jameson Black Barrel, it reminds us of a bourbon and Irish Whiskey together! Woodford Double Oak is good! We’ve drank that here at the studio a number of times. If you like BT try Russels Reserve Single Barrel!

@Vixtor J. Cano this was a Jameson Black Barrel Second Pour that just included a comparison to Red Breast 12. We’ve never “officially” Second Poured RedBreast. When we first talked about it was when we were only doing Whiskey POP. Maybe we need to do a Second Pour rewind of Redbreast in the near future!

Hahaha those are Scottish HIGHLAND pipes u have playing in the background. Ireland and Scotland are not the same country LOL THERE ARE PIPES IN IRELAND BUT they’re different, typically not in groups but more as solo instruments maybe with accordion, fiddle, guitars and maybe bazouki.

Sounds awesome! Jameson BB definitely a happy marriage between Irish whiskey and American bourbon when it comes to flavor. Really great dram of whiskey! We have heard in the past that some bottles outside of the U.S. , that the proof is different. What is the proof in the UK?
