The full body camera video from the March traffic stop in which the son of Denver Mayor Michael Hancock used a slur against an Aurora police officer was released to Contact7 Investigates and provides more context to the altercation.

I have to say that the cop was wrong here. He had no license, no insurance, and no real proof that it was his dad’s vehicle. It could have been stolen. He should have been carried to jail if nothing else to identify him. He cant drive without a license so the car should have been in ponded.

@@pepsijot, you might want to look over your laws again. Mandatory license suspension in NC is *greater than* 15 over *in a 55+ zone* or *greater than* 80 anywhere. If you 40 in 20, you also won't lose your license because even though it's greater than 15 over, you're not in excess of 55mph.

The cop shouldve impounded the vehicle and made the littlw puke walk or call daddy since he didnt have his drivers license on him and didnt know his DL#. Denver law states you must have your drivers license on you while driving if you dont your vehicle can be towed, if one knows their DL# its up to the discression of the officer who made the initial stop for the traffic violation. Or he could have it impounded for traveling 20 over the speed limit. Officer had enough reason to especially with the attitude from that puke stain driving daddies pos explorer.
@james Nas umm because most of the video is of the inside of his jacket? Doesn’t matter in this case as nothing really noteworthy would be in the video, but if there had been an incident, video of jacket lining isn’t much help and certainly not as intended to work.
And they mysteriously get turned off and footage gets "lost". Law enforcement should not be able to control, manipulate or audit the data. The film should go to a separate agency for control and storage.
As I watch this video again I see that this Law Enforcement Officer appears to be the shining example of what should be the standard for training of great policing in this country. This Officer showed, respect for his badge, patience, professionalism and mastered discipline in not escalating the incident beyond what he would've been justified in doing. Without knowing his full background I would give his character an A+ and these are the kinds of Officer's that should be in positions of leadership and tasked with the responsibility of Protecting and Serving.
This officer is fantastic. Never let the driver get to him, stayed calm, cool, collected, no ego involvement. I hope he is or will be a training officer one day.

The real reason for speeding tickets are to deter idiots from making the roads hazardous for themselves and others. Going 20+ over the limit in any scenery is dangerous.

When my son was 15 and right after he got his learners permit I taught him how to handle himself on a traffic stop. I told him what will happen and why it happens the way it does, I told him what the cops would say and what they would ask for and why. I tried to cover all of the bases. I told him to never be without his drivers license, I talked to about being respectful and what would happen if he was disrespectful (but he's never been disrespectful to anyone) I told him what to say and not say. Most of all I told him never to argue with police during a stop but if something was wrong him and I would handle it in court later. I told him to pull over at the soonest safest spot (and we talked about that at length), I told him to roll down his drivers window and if it was night time to roll down all the windows and turn the inside lights on so the police could see all the way through the car. I told him to put both hands on the steering wheel and keep them there while the police was at his window. I told him to have his license, insurance, registration organized and ready, but if the police got to the window before he had it together to stop digging, tell the policeman what he's looking for and to verbalize his movements. I told him to not move around in the car and dig while the policeman was back in his police car calling in his license. I told him above all else to be respectful. I also told him to do this regardless if the police was nice or a total jerk because we don't know what that policeman had to deal with just before he pulled you over. It was also a good thing for him to be with me when I've been pulled over so he could see how to behave on a traffic stop. My dad was cool about telling me how to handle myself on traffic stops when I turned 16. It's too bad more parents don't discuss this with their kids. They really need this information. Obviously the mayor's kid was never told what to do and I blame his father for that but I blame the kids nasty mouth and attitude on him.
