Hey Ryan, stoked you’re going to make some videos! I’d love to see a raw session of you painting one from start to finish, just locked in your zone , as if the camera wasn’t even there. I love your boat paintings, and your beach paintings with people in them, I’d really enjoy watching one of those sometime in the future! Thanks for sharing your art and inspiring! 🎨🙏
Ryan, right on-an honorable mention and a win. Outstanding! I love to watch you paint. You just make me feel good. Sort of met you at PACE in Denver. Maybe I’ll see you paint at Reno in May.
YES!!! I love to paint faster than I can think. Then I know I'm. painting from my heart Thanks for sharing this! I have a lot of work ahead of me to gain the skills, I can't wait for the next video.
Ryan, your cows crossing water (from demo, PACE, Denver) inspires me every time I slow down to really feel it. Your words inspire deep. Thank you for all you've done, are doing and will do. I'm honored to have one of your pieces, the fact your little daughter put the first 3 spots of color on it make it even more sweet to my heart. You really should think about some TX panhandle painting in your future, little rain, great sun shadows...some wonderful folks, just saying...
Great video Ryan. I'm so interested by the way you work. I hope to see one of your paintings in life one day in hopes of better understand how you work your magic. At 1:56 I already saw the painting come to life. It's incredible. Your work and dedication to your art shows!
I really struggle with oils when doing Plein air. Thought I'd switch to acrylics, maybe do a final layer of oils in the studio. You make it look easy. All the practice you get shows, like your work ethic and enthusiasm. Plus, your work is beautiful, energetic, just right, not overdone.
Once I was painting a boat in the Marina and it started to sink right in font of me. its was the craziest thing. and thanks for sparking my interest in this Cherine
@@ryanjensenart I'm thinking some classic dairy cows, maybe brown spotted ones. Of course, one in primary focus, and some in the background...sunset...etc etc.. your the pro :)
Dude! So glad I found your channel! Amazing work and kick-ass style! I'm fascinated by your process particularly at the beginning when you wash the canvas with what will be...to the viewer it's challenging to see the patterns and shapes I know you must see. I am just beginning to paint after many, many years as a photographer and almost 10 years transforming photos into digital paintings. Looking forward to seeing whats next on your channel with even more commentary about what you are thinking as you lay down marks on the canvas. Inspiring my mind for sure!
@@stevepalmerphotoart most excellent to get your comment. Sounds like u got that 🔥 Steve. Me too! What’s something you would like to see more of in videos to come?
@@ryanjensenart right on! teach us as much of your process as you’re comfortable sharing. If I were standing at an easel next to you what would you tell me about “seeing” a scene and putting it on canvas? Keep creating man!
Hello! I'm new to painting and fortunately stumbled and bumbled my way to your video, while searching for an artist who inspires me and paints the way I hope to be able to emulate one day. As a songwriter, words and melodies float around in the air, but I feel the need for something tangible that I can hold onto. That probably sounds weird, but regardless, thanks for sharing your process and stunning work. I just subscribed and will be following along while you paint. Happy travels!
Here's a challenge for you! Currently I'm in Nevada - hot, desert, rocks, lots of light and lots of pigeons! My idea comes from the parrots of San Francisco. How about painting the pigeons of Las Vegas?
Man you’re one of my favourite artists. Wish I could pull this off lol I keep getting stuck on the need to tighten up my strokes and it starts going back to realism
@@houseofhoff what’s up! I’ll be at the Sonoma Plein Air festival demoing on Sunday downtown. Not sure where u live but that’s my next thing. Completely free
@@ryanjensenart damn you’re an absolute legend!! I live in Southern California so that might a little too far of a hike but I’ll definitely keep me eye out if you venture further south!!
I just stumbled across your video and I want to know if your self taught like me. I am currently doing wall murals using some decoupage papers I find on line and I tweak them add to them and give them color and depth I hope to one day to make my own out of picture I take of my travels and my many photographs I have of landscapes and use them on walls for people in there homes I fine a picture in a frame boring
@@ryanjensenartI’m a little shy about letting people watch me work on my walls even though I get a lot of compliments and the orders are poring in I am so new at this I only started it because I was furniture flipping and thought hey I love painting why not murals on wal
Fun to watch. I love painting outside. I struggle with the under painting. Once its done i don't know how topaint over it with color. How do you keep the colors from mixing with the burnt sienna? Do you have to wait for the first layer to dry?
@@JeriMcDonald hi Jeri! My new channel needs to get verified I guess before I can post a clickable link I guess. Let’s see if this one above works. Let me know you have any trouble.
@@ryanjensenart it's a popular thing to do, I guess. It contrasts with sky colors well and it's exciting to see rich little bits of red pop out everywhere.
@@ropori_piipo yeah it’s a great way to start. Really wet paint too. And just start nailing the darks and using a paper towel to wipe off areas of light. Then just start back and it should start reading well, giving little hints as to what it need next.
