ago "I'M SO GLAD WE HAD THIS TIME TOGETHER!" - Carol is one of my favorite people in the world - a true icon and national treasure. A gracious, humble, and talented lady! Like Dolly Parton!
I can not BELIEVE it took this long for her to get this honor! Well...better late than never. I am so glad we had this time together! Carol Burnett is thee funniest lady on the planet! She set the bar for all the women comedians who follow her.
@@terrycraig6386 I was aware of that. She must have received that offer numerous times by now. There's likely more to the story. Regardless, she is cherished by all, myself included.
During my very first 70s teen party at a friend's house, I was compelled to search for a quite room that had a TV set. I found it in a back bedroom and, promptly at 10 pm on that Saturday evening, I watched The Carol Burnett Show all by myself while all others were partying elsewhere in the house. I never missed a show and certainly wasn't going to miss it that night. I had even written her several fan letters and her production company responded each time. There was an embossed pair of open lips at the top of the stationery. I wish I still had those letters. I loved Carol a lot back then and so much more today. You rock, Carol!
Carol, you deserve this for 11 years of my life watching you on TV. You helped me to forget that I had learning disabilities and was making C's and f 's due to my slow mind and being forced to go to a Catholic school , rather than a public school . From the early years of Mondays to Saturdays.
Myself and my family got to see Carol do a live show in a town of 440 people in Arkansas . She rode into the little park in a small fire truck. It was hot but her show was great. 20 yrs ago at least.
Oh, how I love Carol! She's comedy royalty! Thank you for the laughter and joy that you've brought into so many lives! I'm so happy that you've received this honor today!
I have the same thoughts as so many if not all on this post. How did she not receive this award years ago, especially when Harvey Korman and Tim Conway were still with us! This woman not only deserved this honor decades ago, I will never understand how those who have received their stars before her. Not that they didn't deserve their stars, but C'mon.. this woman is a LEGEND, not just a star. Ms. Burnette, I have watched and admired you since I was a little girl in the 60's! Congratulations and a well-deserved recognition LONG OVERDUE!
I was confused too. This is not her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but something else. Her star is at 6439 Hollywood Blvd, and the ceremony was on May 21, 1975. When Tim got his star in 1989, Carol and Harvey were present. Unfortunately, it appears that Harvey never received one, and that's a travesty.
Congratulations Carol, you’ve made so many people very happy and I’m so glad I could be one of your biggest fans! You are indeed a true legend! No one could ever come close to the talent you have and the ability to change a person’s day completely..
So beuatiful to see both Dick Van Dyke & Carol Burnett together. My faves Comediane. Take care both of you. Love you both. God bless and Congratulations Carol. Love and prayers, Liza PH
🎶I'm so glad we had this time together... Saturday night meant the whole family watched the ahow together, for years. The wonderful memories she has contributed she helped create for ao many. Carol Burnett, you are truly a beloved human being 🥰
Carol, you’re the best! I watched your show live and in reruns for decades . You brought so much joy to my family and so many others! You lived near my grandparents in Honolulu and near me in Santa Fe, so I sort of feel I know you. Thanks for everything you have done in entertainment and the joy and love you continue to radiate. You are a truly wonderful person. God bless you, Carol !
I grew up watching The Carol Burnett Show like so many others in the 70s and later on was so happy to have Tim Conway and his wife as my clients working my Actor Survival Job in Beverly Hills! Loved her and Dabny Coleman in the Nightime Soap Spoof of the 80s called "Fresno" too!
This is the QUEEN of comedy Lucy was the comedy Queen 👑 this lady is fantastic and fabulous I watched this show every night when she was on I just loved Went With The Wind/Eunice Higgins,Miss Wiggins and Nora Desmond and I liked her song I'm So Glad We Had This Time Together.... She's a national treasure
A staple for my family growing up, The Carol Burnett Show gave me my sense of humor. She is an amazing person and much deserving of this honor. I didn't see Vicki Lawrence there. That would have made it better.
This made me SMILE constantly when watching! Congratulations to one of the very few Entertainment comedy icons left in this world!! Love you and your work Carol!
I've never forgotten the first I saw Carol Burnett on the Harry Moore show!! So funny! We always watched and loved Garry Moore, and whenever he was on,so he presented her to the world!!
Why did this take so long to happen for Carol? I used to watch the Carol Burnett show on Saturday night and then go out with my friends to the discos... had to watch her show first...
Was my idol. I was a coat girl and was in awe, speechless when I saw her. Her comment to her husband was "that girl may steal my coat" and after the performance ""lets get out of here stinks-get my coat if still in there". What a fool I was, admiring such a rotten, cruel person.
