WATCH | Merafong scholar transport crash: Surviving pupil used his cellphone to inform his parents 

A quick-thinking primary school pupil, who miraculously escaped with his life when 12 others perished in a horror crash after his scholar transport vehicle overturned and caught fire, managed to call his parents, who then alerted the authorities.
The survivor was among seven pupils who escaped with minor injuries. They were all discharged from hospital.
