My chickens cornered a frog once and the frog screamed, literally screamed and the chickens ran for the hills it scared the feathers off them. I never laughed so hard in my life
@@FilRitzel unfortunately yes I am. 😫🙉🙃🤔 don't know how the year's flew by so quickly. My 3 daughters are in their 40's just flew by so fast. They still look like they did in High school I have a million wrinkles to prove it.🙄😫😁 nothing I can do about it now. Lol. Thanks for leaving a comment 🙂 👍 ☺
At first I couldn't figure out what she was doing the whole time she was "chomping" it, but I guess she was breaking all of its bones to make it go down easier? Cuz by the time she swallowed it, it was definitely had a flatter appearance! I also love how she just goes the other direction when one of the other ducks comes to check her out. "my mouse-get your own"
Had I not seen it with my own eyes, I never would have believed it. Birds were reptiles 5 million years ago, she certainly looked snake-like swallowing the mouse. Very interesting. Thanks!
Yeah, and I was not expecting those duck eggs to sell for $5,100.00 on eBay.. Congratulations. Your family is awesome. Living the American Dream. Love your channel.
So sorry for your loss. Always so hard losing animals and birds. 😥 my daughter had 5 ducks something got into their locked shelter they stayed into at night and killed 3 the other 2 were never found. She kept them inside for 9 months then let them go outside they had a huge pond there were wild geese in there but as soon as they saw my daughter pull in or her fiance they ran as fast as they could to see them. They rode in the car with them she had diapers for them when they were inside. They loved them so much it was so hard on them to lose all of them they looked in the woods for weeks trying to find the other 2 but they never found them. They have a possum now they had some friends that found the mother dead as they were driving down a country road they saw movement so they stopped there was 1 baby that was laying next to mom they wrapped it in a towel and took it to them my daughter is used to baby animals when they were still at home I always had babies in my house. From rabbit's to birds to chipmunks I got them better and released them. Her possum is blind in one eye from the accident a car had killed Mom. And the other babies had died also. They have a huge cage and a hammock for him to lay in. His name is Harry. They love him to pieces. He watches TV with the kids. She has 4 kids 1 has already moved out. He is so precious. I just love how they have spoiled him to pieces ❤ again I'm so sorry. I hope you have better luck not losing anymore. You will be in my thoughts and prayers 🙏❤
@@brendasnider7130 I greatly appreciate your kind words. Losing animals is so tough for me but losing babies is unbearable. I would love a possum, they seem so goofey. I’m so glad your daughter has the heart to love and care for animals just as you do!! A stray cat was chasing the chickies and unfortunately the chick got into the duck water and was unable to get out. I performed CPR for a great while but my poor baby wasn’t responsive. I have such a great sense of responsibility in regards to my animals and I just feel like I let them down when something happens to one of them.
That’s incredible!! She needs it for nutrition to lay more eggs. I knew they eat worms and snails but a mouse!!! Your property has a pond? Nice property!! Thanks for the video
Wow, like ya say Jake, Nature is hard! That Momma Duck, took a while to position the mouse right, but eventually.....down the hatch! Loved seeing this glimpse of Becky's and your homestead, and li'l Isaiah growing like a weed! :D
love and respect you very much, even if I don't know English well, since I am from Serbia. I've been watching and following for a long time, and just keep going.❤️❤️🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸❤️🇷🇸❤️🇷🇸❤️🇷🇸❤️🇷🇸
A frog was on our drinking tanks so we flicked him off so he didn’t get in our water but our chickens happened to be there. Let’s just say the frog didn’t last long.

This reminds me of the time my chicken had taken a baby mouse from my cat who had caught it and swallowed the little thing whole! I didn’t even know chickens could do that but she proved to me they could! I definitely wasn’t expecting a duck to get a mouse!
Y'all put in a full, hard day moving all those birdy houses!! I love seeing how all the animals are doing...and especially if any eggs are hatching!!!! Of course those of us that LOVE your channel can be so EXCITED about a whole different kind of birth now too!! I see in the comments that Becky is doing well. Now daddy, don't you let her work too hard... I hope soon there is a lil girl running around with all the birdies...but another boy would be a blessing too.
First,. I had no idea that ducks were carnivorous. Second, never thought that duck could get it down. So impressed. Third, what was that 'Oh No" about at the very end of the video???? Just love you guys, especially your awesome boys. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Birds usually do that. They soften and wet slobber if not dunk in liquid the prey down so it goes down easier. Takes a bit longer than snakes but works all the same.
When you guys build the aviary, it’s probably best to have a solution for snow because a lot of netting can rip when it lands on top. I’m not really sure what the best solution is, but maybe a wider gauge at the top so snow can fall through? Just a thought for the future :)
That was intense!! 😂 I’m so so curious as to why the style of duck nest is like that vs how chickens’ are. It seemed small at first, but I assume they like to be hidden away? So interesting!! Haha
👋 Good afternoon. The duck ate the mouse whole. I was not expecting that!! You have a lot of birds to move around. That experiment with no heat, no lights is certainly eye opening. 👏👏👏 You folks have a great day. Be well.
What was the "Oh No" at the very end? It shall remain a mystery. That Mandarin Hen was determined and she was not about to share her mouse with anyone else. Nice organized move. Have a great weekend.
As level as your ground is, that turkey shed would be very easy to roll along the ground on four 4” PVC pipes. I use them to move coops three times that size and they can be used to move sheds as well. No wheels required, just jack up one end of the shed and get one pipe slid under it, push the shed a couple feet along and slide another pipe underneath, then repeat as you roll it along. As one pipe emerges out the back, pick it up and run to the front to slide it back underneath as a “new” roller. EASY PEASY, and no breaking your back. A couple kids could move heavy objects this way, one kid pushing and the other kid moving the pipes to the front as needed.
Hey, they make these cool things called rubber-coated gloves, LOL. I use them for all my poultry chores, and as an added bonus they can be sprayed with disinfectant (Lysol or bleach water) along with rubber boots, between flocks if someone is practicing biosecurity.
That mandarin was just savage! Lol I never would have expected a duck to eat a mouse. That is amazing!!!! Who needs cats? 🤣 I was also surprised to see how calm the peafowl were. They are just old pros by this point. How are you feeling, Becky? You are so strong and tough! Such an inspiration!!
That story would have been hard to swallow had I not seen it unfold myself, thanks to you. The Sorry Tail of the Mouse who was Invited for Lunch by the White Mandarin One Busy Day. So, Thank You! :D
A mandarin is basically a really fancy wood duck. Imagine what wood ducks are eating in the wild. lol. I used to love to watch my ducks catch a bullfrog. It was like a feeding frenzy.
My hen, Joy, was badly infected with EYP last summer. She was weak, quiet, and I didn’t think there was much hope for her. I brought her outside to enjoy the world one day, and suddenly she seemed much more perky, back to her old self. She caught a frog that day, and when I looked at her there were two little legs dangling from her beak 🤣 Joy recovered well, and is the star of the flock.
Could you guys make a video on how to make the habitats for the birds? It would be really helpful because I have a lot of wood and would love to build my own birdhouses!
