@k3soju, I am a physician and it is a health concern that you have this long term resting cough. It could be a sign of something more serious. I highly advise that you go a family medicine doctor/general practitioner or an urgent care clinic and tell them about this long term cough so they can rule out any serious causes such as tuberculosis, cancer, and undiagnosed asthma. A chest X-ray and some basic bloodwork will not be a huge inconvenience to you and can save you a lot of headache down the line.
