Installed one on my L5P. No more dead pedal. Despite it not adding any hp/tq, one would think otherwise. The truck is almost like it's tuned. Worth every penny.
My throttle response is already good, 2017 6.7 cummins with custom tuning on the 200hp mode. Also, lots of mods, mainly the revmax 700 tranny and a 472 borg warner over BD screamer turbo compound setup. On sport +4 its unholy how the throttle responds now. Dont even want to try anything higher at this point. City +3 is amazing for driving around. Glad I finally decided to get this over pedal commander, which i have tried in a friend truck.
I have this on my 2008 ram 2500 hemi. It works great love the responsiveness it gave my truck. It does not seem to have the reverse select avaliable for it yet. It only gives the automatic transmission options for the diesel version of my truck. Other then that, it works great and i would recommend it to anyone looking for something like this.
Idk y but mine after a week of use started to give me dead pedal. I would have to reset it and then it would do the same thing. I have emailed your company many times while I was trying to use it and never received an email or call back about it. It's far past the return point now but I just wanted u to know customer service could use some work.
I've got a 2016 F350 6.2 gas let me tell you Ford put a big sponge between the pedal and the motor sure when you get into it and you get the RPM's up she gets it but it the initial off the line where are you waiting for the truck to go and being a plow truck even worse when I'm plowing snow. definitely going to look in more to this one look forward to putting it in, this is a trusted company American-made this guy's been around the block he knows what he's talking about.
I bought automind2 for my used 2010 GMC Sierra SLE 5.3 gas. I got my mpg dialed in from 13.9 to 16.1 sitting on 33s. Put 2k miles on the tune 91SportMode. Then I installed Pedal Monster, my wife went WOW! I'm enjoying the older truck, looking forward to future banks power bundle hopefully soon. Ole girl has 152400k.
What happens if you lose the power source from the OBD plug? Does the unit still revert to OEM or does it do what the Pedal Commander does when it fails.
When you lose power from the OBD plug, the normally closed relays latch shut and seamlessly return you to stock throttle response. Heck, we often show our customers how it works by having them remove the OBD cable as they’re driving down the street.
The Pedal Commander put my Tacoma in Limp mode multiple times, mainly in very cold weather. Truck was towed to dealer. I shut it off when freezing. No more trouble next 3yrs then truck quit this summer in hot weather 150mi from nearest dealer. Unhooked Pedal Commander, luckily got truck restarted. I believe this Pedal C was worn out. Total JUNK!!
My Pedal Monster works Awesome! It works way better than the BD Diesel one I bought for my wife's 2012 Ram 1500 Hemi . My 2008 Ram 3500 6.7 Cummins now has a faster take off and is more responsive . You can't get better than Banks !!
Thanks for the infos and comparison. Just a correction about the feutures of each product. Sprint Booster have transmission (manual/auto) option too. I think is fair to said that in the name of a fair comparison. Keep up the good work :)
Great information. Thinking about getting these for our trucks. My question is does this add more stress on the engine or turbo? Is the sponge pedal effect from the manufacturer to help slow the turbo spooling for longevity? We have the 6.7 Cummins for durability and want to maintain that. But get a little more fun out of it. Thanks!
I have this installed on my Jeep Gladiator Diesel and I have to say WOW! I love it! my jeep is out of warranty but I need to take in for recall....do I need to unhook and remove or just set everything on stock mode?
Just bought the Pedal Monster with iDash 2014 Ram 1500 5.7 from Banks directly. Where do I start, first missing mounting hardware for iDash, second IDash gauge is made very flimsy, had a hard time mounting gauge in A pillar trim ‘from Banks” too. Gauge buttons kept getting stuck. Basically that gauge is made of plastic and get mis shaped way to easy. Then I try to install the pedal monster and that failed. Kept setting code 121 and truck stayed at 2000rpm. Did all of the calibrations and double checked all wiring/connectors. Removed the peddle monster and truck worked perfectly. Called Banks help line and now I need to send the pedal Monster back to Banks to have it checked out. Not happy at all with Banks products, first time buying from them. For $600 dollars you think the peddle monster would work and the gauge would have been made better.
I just ordered mine. Interested in seeing how it goes. Banks makes the best products. I’m interested in seeing if it just applies more throttle then requested, or just removes lag?
Looking product but I am not wanting another ODB port solution since I already run a Piggyback. if you ECU tune then I guess yes if you are integrated in to the app.
PM is amazing on my 2021, night and day difference. I do want to try the Derringer now as well. They did post they bought a new Ram, so hopefully we get something soon.
All well and good except for the small detail that you still don't offer one for my 2022 Nissan Frontier. I have the money, I've done my research, how much longer do I have to wait?
I installed it in my 2019 Ram 6.4 and the pedal lag at take off is gone, it amazingly improves responsiveness. Easy stand alone install, every other start it asks for me to install the App so I gotta uninstall the app and reinstall the app, also quite often I've gotta re-pair Bluetooth by pressing the lil button on the pedal monster. If anything this lowkey teaches patience.
Ok since this is a BANKS POWER video, Let me ask this question. Does this product reduce or eliminate the time it takes for the pedal to be pushed and the throttle plate to respond? AKA LAG. I don't want more voltage applied than what I am requesting. What I want is when I request 50% 75% or 100% throttle. does it do it instantly or does it take 1, 2, or even 3 seconds for the throttle plate to respond? My 2013 Ford Expedition takes almost 3 seconds to go full throttle when floored. This happens from a dead stop or any cruising speed. For example, getting ready to pass on a 2 lane road. I have to push the pedal 3 seconds before I am ready for it to react when I want it to pass a vehicle. Anticipation is making me wait. I really feel this is dangerous. I recently was rear-ended in a similar vehicle. I feel it could have been prevented or lessened the blow, if it would have went as soon as I floored it to avoid being hit in the rear.
Works great on my Challenger. Night and day difference over the factory throttle lag. I've had other brands but after being put into limp mode, unnerving at highway speeds, I wasn't going to use one any longer. Banks let me get that instant throttle response again and this time with built in safety features so it's a keeper.
@@bankspowerdoes this just change the pedal position? Another words if I press the pedal to say10% does this just increase the throttle to higher than 10% so as to make it seem like I am pushing the pedal more than I really am? Or does this actually make the throttle opening rate 1:1 with the computer thus removing the delay in the opening rate of the throttle body? Also will it work with the 2021 2500hd Chevy 6.6 gas? Computers are locked from the factory in this truck…i can’t use my hp tuner
I just installed my pedal monster on my 2020 GMC furs max and my check engine light is on, traction control on an power downgrade. Don’t know why? Waiting for dealer to guide me.
Wish you had a programmer for the 6.2 gm gasser ... I couldn’t justify buying a bunch of different things to do just a couple jobs (turning off DOD and changing throttle pedal modulation) so I had to go with the hypertech unit just from a financial standpoint ... although I had to turn off their “tune” because no matter which one I chose even with 91 octane I was getting spark knock 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Well according to many people the 22 and newer ram can read this device has/had been installed...if it voids warranty what is Banks going to do for these folks?
I really want to buy it i was so close to ordering it but I have a 2022 ram 1500 limited with 360 cam front and back break assist lane assist adativr cruise control auto park will pedal monster disable any of those features?
Bankspower, Do you guys have a package deal available ? Like say, if I wanted to buy the Ram air, the derringer, the throttle monster and the I dash and a column to mount the gauges in ??? Seems like if I bought these products at once a guy should be able to catch a break on pricing.
The reverse detection in nice, would have been nice to detect when in 4 low, that's when I usually turn off the PD (also have a sprint booster on another vehicle).
PedalMonster already has a similar option called low speed trim. It's a feature that can limit the amount of added throttle sensitivity when your vehicle is under 10 mph. But directly monitoring transfer case state is a good idea!
Just bought one for my f150 to try out. Bought a cheap one off of american trucks and it makes my throttle body flutter at low speed and throttle and the input just isn't that great.
Does the pedal monster setting you have it on when you cut off the engine remain active when you start back up? Let's say I don't have my phone and get it my truck and start up and go, will the pedal monster apply the same setting I had previously? Or, do I have to have my phone and the app open to apply the setting every time I start the engine?
Does operating a Ham Radio in the vehicle affect the pedal monster? I used to have a pedal Commander in me Jeep, but had to remove it. I found that any time I was transmitting on my Ham radio, my throttle would accelerate. The 1st time it happened I was on trails in the back country and it nearly took me off the road.. Is pedal Monster shielded from outside transmissions from devices like a Ham Radio?
We have checked with our engineering dept., the PedalMonster is not internally shielded. However, if the HAM Radio causes interference, PedalMonster will kick into safe mode and return to module back to stock.
Nice, & controlling from my idash would be fun, however it costs three times my hikeit & the pedal monster has no eco mode (useful in wet weather or if you want to decrease pedal response) 🤷
I love the OBD-2 tie in for all these features and safety, but can an OBD-2 splitter be used? I've got a JB4 occupying the port. *EDIT....y'all sell a splitter, seems likely it can be used. Very nice...
I’m looking to upgrade from a ram 1500 hemi to a Ram 3500 diesel. I’ve been looking at all your parts for the ram and wondering for the petal monster if there is a high idle control as part of the firmware available for the diesels.
@@MATTEOSTOWING Thanks. I have given it a try. For others In park engine running, cruise on, press set-, then res+ to increase rpm. On my 2020 Ram3500 Cummins HO
Okay so I had my pedalmax on my Ram for about 2 weeks now today and totally failed driving down the highway all of a sudden no throttle had to pull over shut the truck off wait turn it back on turn the pedal Max off and limp home with no throttle I got home and it was throwing no low voltage throttle position on the dash so I disconnected the pedalmax reconnected the factory and no codes no engine light on so it's inherently dangerous is my opinion
We tested the JMS PedalMax and you're correct, it will cause a check engine light or worse. That's why the Banks PedalMonster doesn't draw power from the pedal circuit. We power ours from the OBD port, which has several amps of overhead.
He's not an actor his name is Gale Banks. Owner, founder, of Banks Power. A very talented engineer who is personally involved with development at his company.
@@IndependantResearch That's what I was wondering! I'll do a search for them. Thank you. Maybe Gail can weigh in- a splitter shouldn't interfere with the Pedal Monster, as it seems like it would function like a household outlet extension... unless the AMP running boards draw enough juice to starve the PM??
@@derekchauvinisahero2010 I'm honestly in the market for a new, over-priced, Ram 3500. If the truck I get doesn't have AMP running boards, I'll install them. I don't plan on driving the truck in the winter, but if I did, I'd consider unplugging them in slushy/snowy conditions, as well as making undercarriage car wash visits a couple times a week. The salt used on roads in my state, destroys vehicles within a year or two.
I just don't like all the different mods out there that require the obd port. Most of which are like this where you have to unplug them to hook up a scan tool. It's kind of annoying. Just feels like there's a better way to do this for power and metering.

What are you going to do when Allstate has their sensor in a ODB 2 port? I can see you have one for the electric Chevy Spark but not for a 2014 Chevrolet Spark gas engine I'm sick of this 84 horsepower
Please make one for the Toyota 4Runner! There are far too many guys getting the Pedal Commander and hearing about how many folks have had failures is a big eyebrow raiser.
Definily get this for my 2015 ram how poorly made pedal commander is knowing your not going to get stranded or vehicle goes i into limp mode like pedal commander dose
Hello my name is Jesus I recently bought a Petal Monster for my 2021 ram Eco diesel But it does not have The option for my particular vehicle For reverse so I'm using standard But it doesn't activate the safety Backup Should I use the 6.7 ram 2018 plus option
The PedalMonster was designed to deliver throttle boost when you need it. It was not designed to increase fuel economy. Therefore, we do not advertise fuel economy gains. Fuel economy will depend on many variables including how you drive, how hard you mash the throttle, or PedalMonster level/environment you drive in.
I installed PM on my 2020 7.3 f250 , works great, But,,I'm constantly having to re-find the truck after shutting off, at say a stop at the local store.any advice.tks
