I don't know if everybody realizes the magnitude of how unprecedented Donald Trump is. I am 53 years old I have never seen the transparency and openness and willingness to listen to regular American people everyday like he does in the White House. This was amazing to watch, unscripted and informative. You can't help but be encouraged when the president listens to the concerns of the American people. Simply amazing.

Trump is so uninformed. Does he even read anything? The issue with asset forfeiture is that law enforcement sizes assets even when the subject is not found guilty. This is a lawless forfeiture of assets by incentivised law enforcement. If the subject is found guilty then they should forfeit assets, but if they are found not guilty then LE should not be allowed to profit from seizing assets from someone who is not guilty of a crime. The issue in the past is that LE just keeps the assets, guilty or not. Policing for profit is morally wrong and should be abolished.

Valerie I'm a huge supporter of Trump, and realize the election was stolen from him in 2020. However Trump was dead wrong here. I hope he did some further research because these Police are illegally taking huge money amounts from innocent Americans. It costs them more in legal fees to get that ie: legal $60,000 back so most just let it go. It is police corruption on a huge scale in many cases. I saw one case where a guy was on his way to buy a piece of machinery for his business. He had cash because you get a better deal that way. Cops stopped him for a traffic violation, and found the cash, calling him a drug smuggler.

I for one fully support Law Enforcement, Fire Rescue and the Military. I also find it refreshing to see what the President is doing in meetings in his first days in office. Previous Presidents ALL their meeting were behind closed doors. This is awesome.

I keep hearing these Sheriffs say "opiates, opiates, opiates." I just hope they realize that most people on prescription opiates are FORCED to take them, due to chronic and unsolvable pain. I know that most people don't want them, but what options do they have? Marijuana would solve the problem (with zero side effects) but states are slow to legalize it. Hopefully these people don't become cannon foddder because a small percentage of people choose to abuse these drugs. Just remember, if the abusers weren't taking opiates, they'd be taking something else -- like alcohol. More regulations aren't going to solve this. Also, in a population of 320 million people, opiate abuse is a drop in the bucket. Alcohol-related deaths are about 50 times that of opiate-related deaths. I'm all for law enforcement, but I'm also a critical thinker, and these sheriffs got a little too excited when the topic of asset seizure was mentioned. Something just tells me there are ulterior motives here. I'm all for excellent community policing, but I'm not for "policing for profit."
