Rone's opening bar about "10 years, shoot me in the face." That's a play off his battle against Okwerdz. He said "you've been rapping for 10 years, such a disgrace. If I'm battling in 2021, someone shoot me in the face!"
“He can’t go one battle without repurposing somebody else’s good idea, shit probably mine”. This hits so much harder when Charon spent the whole battle remixing Rone’s old schemes
Yeah Diz is cocky, but this is exactly what I want to see. Intelligent, thoughtful analysis by someone who genuinely loves this shit. Not doing this consistently is a massive loss of opportunity. There's so much that fans like me miss that you guys talked about with ease in this video. MORE OF THIS!!
True but he hast to be fair. I thought he was fair but Rone was telling the truth about Bodied. look it up He also didn’t like the fact he mentioned the 10 years just because he’s been battling 10 years. I’m an artistic energy salesman(former energy salesman) and I agree with Diz take on Rones perfect Rd 3 But the only time he would not approve a Rone bar is if it was kind of a jab at him as well
Diz hated on Charron when they watched the Pat battle. He said he “doesn’t feel like” battling Charron. Charron brings out the best in his opponents because he’s a beast. I give this battle to Rone as well, but he was straight HATING during this watch. Battle him, Diz.
does diz not know the "i've been battling for 10 years, someone shoot me in the face" bar by rone is a reference to his battle against okwerdz? he seems to think it's just some random bar
The 8 mile part is the most cringe thing ive ever seen. The amount of cap he said just to repurpose em’s verse is simply astonishing for how ineffective it was
I see the comments not loving it, but I really enjoyed the in-depth breakdown. And despite Diz clearly having a bit of a bias against Charron, he gave props where they were due and gave good reasons for all his criticisms, whether you agree with him or not.
I've watched a bunch of these videos. Always liked the concept, narration with context for each battle. And I always fast forwarded through most of the dialogue between the actual battle. Because, well, outside of mac and thesaurus, no guests ever had anything worthy of listening to. All that said to say this, I haven't fast forwarded through any of this video. Diz is offering his complete opinion. He's putting his stamp of analysis on this so seriously, that this dude is taking notes. Pen and pad out, taking notes!. I f*** with that heavy. He takes his stamp seriously and he takes being an honest critic seriously. Mad respect.
This was awesome to see and hear diz opinion.. he's so good at really explaining what each line means. You can tell he's extremely passionate about about battle rap he's a legend
@@pb_monkey Ok, but battling Diz is sloppy as all fuck with his writing most of the time. He says a whole lot of nothing in literally every single battle 🤷🏿♂️
@@nochillpharaoh I'm a Charron fan too and I can objectively say he lost this battle 3-0 or 2-1. If anything he won the second. No way he won the first or third round, you're bugging
The Patrick Beverly bar about getting under your skin comes from point guard Pat BEVS defensive reputation in the NBA. He's been known to get "under the skin" of stars like Westbrook and harden.
Yeah he gon’ need to see him eventually but Rone was right - Charron really is that annoying little brother who keep tugging at your sleeve til you give in. That’s what he does.. these incessant call outs work for him and obviously Diz thinks he can destroy him but he also knows ppl wanna see that battle so it’s gonna happens eventually 🙄
One of my favourite battles of all time. For Rone to do what he did to Charron was insane. Rone's third round possibly the best round I have ever heard. Too good.
It’s the best round of the battle. I’m getting a little bored of people hating on Charron (not saying you are, but a lot of commenters are hating) because Diz hates him. This was a great battle. Charron did really well, as did Rone. Rone won but this isn’t a body bag.
You 2 should make this a regular segment. Diz is insightful and funny too. I didn't like Diz when I first learned about him but he's actually hilarious and down to earth.
Also, videos like this could really challenge and advance the culture by providing - not just the battlers being watched, but everyone, feedback on what a good round is. I really agree with Diz that the focus of content should center around personal angles, but soooo many battlers fail to do this.
@@justthatgirl-ct4jo i believe so if not, not much longer than that. If you're an all around hiphop head like me check out the his album I just dropped last month. If you dig battle rap you'll like it.
at least both rone and charrons performance was considered battle of the card. while diz vs soul.... dont get me wrong i still think diz is one of the cultures goats
@@maximo6037agreed! Bad performances in ANYTHING don’t objectively invalidate past success. I hope Soul Khan gets it together, he’s since lost to A. Ward & gotten absolutely annihilated by Frak. Let’s hope he gets back in his groove.
37:59 That line was from his battle with Okwerds and he said that 10 years ago. Now it has been 10 years, and he is saying the line over. It meant a lot in my opinion. But it is a reference to the old viewers.
I've watched this so many times and the way diz says "yeahhhhh" after patman says earning the bucks by shaving the nuts makes me die laughing everytime
Also just being fair, I looked it up and Rone was right. I think Diz just didn’t like the bar because he was in the movie It was 15 M and grossed 115K. Opening weekend was 50k. Honestly is one of the worst net financial gains % wise for a movie in quite a while
1:21:29 "I'll tag your man's toe, like I was Virgil Abloh" 🔥😤🔥 (R.I.P Virgil 🙌🏿 Though he obviously hadn't passed when this Battle happened, or when this was shot/uploaded) As a 15+ year deep Sneaker-head with a damn nice Nike/Jordan x Off-White collection (As well as a Streetwear enthusiast with some of my favorite pieces from Virgil, from the few Pyrex Vision pieces I kept to some Off-White pieces), I can't say I rock the zip-ties on any of my pairs aside from ONE pair of Dunks I have from 'The 50" Collection simply because some Lot #s actually do look better with the tie-tag on. I want to say they're Lot 34 off top. I love so much of what Virgil did when he was alive, so I had to say something about that bar even though it wasn't exactly anything crazy. Probably something the large majority of people in that area get, though. But where I live, I RARELY see anybody wearing (non-Team) Jordans let alone any limited collabs unless I'm at the airport of Mall of America 🙄
I could tell Avo was getting a little annoyed by Diz talking for so long with his analysis. But I actually loved it. Some sort of content with battle rappers giving a report card on a battle like this would be dope. Love the Watch content, but also love the more in depth analysis
I don't always fuck with Diz but I had the battle going the same way, it Charron's bars didn't hit me the same and Diz put it way into perspective. He takes his craft seriously and I can respect it. Foo even came out here taking notes.
Looking forward to the diz ruin your day! Thought of a cool graphic intro idea, have the RYD logo with sun in background then wind starts blowing the tree sideways, clouds block out sun and tidal cracks screen or something haha. Got a very active imagination sorry..
@Dizaster The elephant tusk bar you were talking about is probably from Crooked's verse in "I Will" on music to be murdered by. That came out after this battle was made
"You'll catch six from the Trey that's the Philly Special" Trey burton threw a touchdown pass (6) in the Superbowl to Nick Foles and that was a slept on bar
@@GGritty There are A TON. Real Deal had a bunch vs B Magic I'd rate above that, as one example. I don't have time right now to say more than that. It WAS a dope bar (And I'm a Vikings fan, so any bullshit about the Eagles winning that SB pisses me off), I'm not saying it was whack at all. But it definitely does pander to the SUPER-casuals... And bars in Battle Rap (or lyricism in music) are extremely subjective. Not objective. No one person can say a bar is "literally the greatest ever" 🤷🏿♂️ You could say "IMO that's the hardest sports bar I'VE ever heard in a Battle" and that'd be completely different than saying something is objectively the best period, "literally"
Loved this battle and to watch this with diz makes it so much better. Why i always thought rone is one of the greatest battle rappers with diz,pat stay, hollow, lux. Personals and jokes is what I like in battles. Not just pointless gun bars and dumb shit that don't make sense.
Looking forward to what diz does. Love the bar break downs. There is just a couple moments where everyone asks if you got that to each other, and I don't get it. Just give the cliff notes real quick, would be nice.
i feel like this whole video should be a foreshadowing of a battle ive been asking years for on Diz and charrons IG is to finally have them battle each other it would be glorious cuz i know Charron would show up tuff for that and Diz always brings the heat for Canadians
BODIED according to IMDB Box Office Opening Weekend USA: $53,000 4 November 2018 Gross USA: $113,956 Cumulative Worldwide Gross: $113,956 BODIED budget Was 15 million according to Wikipedia
1:12:58 Lush is sipping like he knows something about the Pat/Charron encounter, before the bar starts he predicts what rone will say and shrugs up to make you think he knows what rone is about to say
