Thank you this is the best video I have found on RU-vid. Its very helpful and supportive. I had a back injury Jan 23. It's been a horrendous year. Plus the situation has also kicked of other situations under further investigations. Thanks again first class 👍🙏.
Sorry to hear about your pain. I'm glad the video was able to shed light on your lower back pain cause. Have you tried any of the stretches yet? Please keep me posted on your progress. Best wishes, Ashley.
Hips are the main area in question. L5 s1 show bone spuring. After stretching and various treatments of rubs i was able to contain the pain and start building the muscles. The last week that i worked i was able to do my daily duties without issues. On this last thursday i had a small cough while walking and it caused a major muscle spasm that went down the right side to the lower back and now its a continuous 8.9 pain level for the last 3 days in the pelvic region. Standing, walking, and sitting more than 10 minutes causes the muscles around the hips to start the spasms. The story can go on and on. But from what my dr and chiropractor say, my take away is that i have slight arthris but it can be worked out
I love how you talked about yhe phases. I install flooring for a living , alot of carpet. And my lower right back for the last week has been a 8 to 10 pain zone. I also workout alot so i know how to strengthen muscles and tendons.... but the phases you talked about are awesome. Thanks. Movement is life ! Im in phase 1 . Just went to a chiropractor for the first time today.
I can't tred water. For now I just walk in the water and I do it for 2 hours it works for me but might not be ok for others. But I don't put my face in the water when I do breast stroke I glide in the water. And I swim like the man from atlanta 😂 core muscle swimming 🏊🏾♀️ I do under the water it's nice!!!
The doctor told me the Lumbar Disc is eroded away. The MRI shows a dark space between `the vertebrae` and they are close together. Is there anything you can do for my condition?
Hi Charles, Thank you for your comment. Yes, I can treat/work on your issues. But before you make the trip to Whetstone, have you tried any of the remedies? Please let me know how you get on. Best wishes, Ashley.
I just turned 65, have had lower back pain for months, it's more on the sides of the spine from the last rib to my pelvis, should I be using heat or cold on it and should I be doing stretching exercises
Sounds like it could be your Quadratus Lumborum. Movement, stretching and using a massage ball will probably help. Heat might help too since it's been ongoing for months. You should also go and get it assessed to get a clear diagnosis. Best wishes, Ashley
Might as well ask. Have you seen patients who had no back pain, just hip, groin and radicular to knee and inside ankle with an MRI finding of L34 foraminal disk compression? I have spondylolisthesis at L45 with bulging. Im 60 and in great health. We travel for months at a time mountain biking, llots of getting wheels off ground. Also play pickleball. Very curious your opinion re continuing these activities in future.
Hi Isabelle, I have all of the exercises I give my patients in my Beat Your Back Pain ebook. It's linked in the description and I think it will be exactly what you're looking for. Best wishes, Ashley
brilliant , so informative, i had had back pain for about 3/4 years its comes and goes , i referee i cycle and work in a prison so im very active , but also i have a weak lower back , which is why after running or cycling my back hurts so much it becomes stiff and cant move , and cant walk and takes a good few days to get better , so i really have to strengthen the lower back muscles , and im only 13 mins through this , i have had scans and xrays and nothing shows up out of the ordinary apart from acute Arthritis due to my age (thats what the doctor said ) im 43 , but i get it as im always active and using my legs mainly for running and cycling , i need to strengthen my core to stop putting the pressure on my lower back ,,,
The best osteopath I ever seen ,meet and being treated by 😊Ash is an excellent professional and knows what he’s talking and how to do it properly. I highly recommend thank you 🙏

I work in large supply chain company and all the 11 people who have herniated discs from repetitive picking of products have been young women 18 to 23 years. No disc injuries happened to any men.
Invest 90 minutes on this one excellent video rather for a cohesive and indepth info on lower back pain than wasting hours and hours on random 5 minute videos and getting more and more confused.
I had a bulging disk 5 months ago it was very painful . Still feels soar. What I did was hanging from a bar like doing pull up and eating lots of sardines and jello . Also before surgery I would try stem cells. They do work . Walk and walk and walk some more
Congrats! I really enjoyed your video. Appreciative of and confident on the pro way you went about it, so much so that all the first 3 phases look so simple so easy... Anyway I'll try most of them...
Thank you so much for the comment. Yes I will do move videos about strengthening the lower back soon. All of the exercises I advise are also in my lower back pain ebook which is linked in the video description. Best wishes, Ashley
This has been one of the most informative videos. Been suffering for 10 years now last year had spinal surgery but back and legs have not settled down. Could you recommend a really good book. I would be most grateful 🙏
Hello iim 67 years old just found you today and yes I go the gym but just do the water exercises and I noticed the warm water does help a lot with the exercises I also do the stretching exercises with bands and I feel much, much better. And also do the samba dance I try the swimming but yes it does give a little bit of pain so I just avoid that.. really appreciate your video it's a great one..very precise for older or middle age People. Thank you souch.
I have 2 ebooks; 1 which is free all about the 3 phases of pain, and the other is the about lower back pain and how to overcome it. I hope that helps, best wishes, Ashley
I've done all your exercises and still do stretching and yoga 24/7 I use my wedge it's so nice. I use my bell weight and ankle weights sometimes to lift my feet. But I do swimming 🏊🏾♀️ mostly as I can stand in the water for 2 hours with no pains at all. SLEEP IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!! Because when I didn't sleep for 24 hours I couldn't walk my legs kept buckling under me. I'm doing intimitent fasting and have been doing this for 3 years .. I'm a vegan but eat fish sometimes. I take codliver oil sometimes and I found that swimming 🏊🏽♀️🏊🏽♀️🏊🏽♀️🏊🏽♀️🏊🏽♀️loosens tight muscle in my glutes and hips and my ankles and my hands and arms and fingers as I use resistance with my dumbell and gloves in the pool. It's better to do thee exercises in the water 😅no pain at all in the water. I do step ups and walk backwards and forwards and sidewards in the swimming 🏊🏾♀️ pool I do side bends and ride bicycle leg movements and scissors movements on my front and on my back in the swimming 🏊🏾♀️... its better to start in water
I went to an orthopedic surgeon at a big machine place. He said l have a L5 S1 degenerated disc and 2 other bulging disc. They gave me a cortisone injection in my L5 S1 joint and 11 days later it is not better at all . I have tingling and numbness in both feet left more than right. Pain is mainly there. I have started walking about a mile 5 days a week slowly and stretching. I have a physical therapy appointment scheduled for July 1st. The neurosurgeon said he did not see any nerve impingement so he would not suggest operating yet. They did the cortisone injection in the L5 S1 to see if that is where the pain was coming from. I started to feel relief but not anymore. I also am just coming off oxycodone. The pain is a little worse. I have a virtual appointment with the neurosurgeon on July 21st. I am getting worse and am not sure if the physical therapist will solve this. I am really scared and don't know what to do. BTW l am 60
THANK you for your VERY informative information in explaining pain and to do the treatments in simple explained terms in your videos .I found your videos extremely helpful . Thank you your a fantastic man ASH all the best in life

Hi will be grateful if you reply: A week ago my low back cracked on the left side after getting out of bed, and since then i managed to recover and start doing the gym again slowly building weight progression where i was but i still feel that weakness on the left side on the low back ( no pain ) . When it comes to gym i have no problem atm but if i have to get down and grab something off the floor or in general i still feel the weakness on the hurt spot despite not having issues and despite still doing all good possible low back strengthening, for glutes as well, core, etc exercises at home. Would you still recommend me doing all the exercises on the video or youd suggest me to take some of them off ? Thanks.
Hi Ani Here are the links to both of my books... My Lower Back Pain eBook www.precisionwellbeing.co.uk/beatyourbackpain My FREE eBook www.precisionwellbeing.co.uk/injury-ebook I hope that helps, Best wishes, Ashley
You can try to experiment with different amounts of knee bend while doing those stretches. If you still get kne pain after trying that then just don't do those stretches and try other stretches instead. Best wishes, Ashley
Ive had chronic lower back pain ever since i had total abdominal hysterectomy and my doctor thinks im faking it cause it's invisible pain. Everything i try is ineffective injections, physical therapy, exercises, my diet, rens unit. Only thing helps pain pills and i seem need more more and i feel im undermedicated. I can't stand pain anymore. Nothing shows up on x rays and MRIs. Help????
1:04 Is he an orthopedic Dr ? This has absolutely nothing to do with your prostate. This will not cause back pain. How can't they tell you where it hurts. I've been through 3 back surgeries and I could tell you exactly where the pain was
Very educating. I have been experiencing pains in my back, when I seat and to stand up had been difficult because of the pains but am on my feets I will not fill any pains, what can I do to get relief.
Try doing the cat/cow exercises while you are seated. Sometimes the movement is what helps. But you should go and get your back checked if you haven't already done so. Best wishes, Ashley
Also, cold is better when your back pain flares up and becomes really sharp. Otherwise heat might be the best option. Have a look at this video about hot or cold ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-J0zKrCFzOic.html
I’ve been to 2 different ER thinking it was kidney disease because the pain persisted under my rib cage. I’ve had cat scans cat scans with die…nothing. Blood and urine work and kidneys test were normal not indicating disease or infection. I do construction for a living. I’m pretty healthy. I’m a vegan, I’m not on any medications and haven’t ever been chronically ill ever! The hospital believes it’s due to an injury or flank pain and prescribe me Tylenol which I don’t want to take because I’m not comfortable taking any medicine. I haven’t taken medicine in my life other than when I was a kid and my mom made me. Any suggestions Doc? Thank you!
Get a thoracic MRI. You may have a small herniated or bulging disc there. It is rare but this is what I have got going on for a few months now. Thoracic disc bulges or herniations are rare and commonly overlooked. I was misdiagnosed for a number of months and had all the tests done too. Hope this helps and I hope this is not the cause for you but it's good to rule it out.
I truly appreciate you for reaching out to me with a very wise opinion. Very true…better safe than sorry. It’s very smart to zero out possible issues. Thank you! I will let you know how it goes! It’s good to be hopeful.
Thank you! I do have a free one about the 3 phases of pain called The Path To Recovery - Understanding and Taming Your Pain. But this one is not specific to lower back pain. My lower back pain eBook (which is not free) will be more specific and will take you from pain right through to being pain free and having a stronger back. I believe it's worth it. It has a satisfaction guarantee too so if you do buy it and you're not happy with it you can ask for a refund. Best wishes, Ashley
What's going on in Gaza and Israel is very sad. The whole Middle East needs to work together to solve the racism and hate that is so common in the Middle East. Only through true understanding will it ever be fixed. God is one, and God loves all of us.
Im 60. I retired and shovelled snow for a few customers this winter to earn some pocket money. Along with this I have been in the gym every day trying to maintain a level of fitness. My lower back has always been quite strong and never had any back problems. Something is screwed in my lower sacrum spine.
