Once again, Madman Reviews should put a disclaimer on the "click bait" picture. "The weapon pictured is not in this video". And, this video should be titled. "This video is a history of Chinese issued handguns."
Seriously? 99% of RU-vid videos use some kind of "click bait". You are correct on it should have been label as a "walk through history". If these are the pistols they will use to invade, they'll be in for one hell of a surprise.
@@charlotteblackman429 I don't know, bulk of the videos I've seen (granted not just restricted to firearms channels) have used it. I suppose after a while got so used to it, I focus more on the title/description of the video. I don't see the upside. The videos usually have more than enough great images to use. I don't see the logic of click bait, when you have legit pics to use.
Yeah, if there's very many more of these videos where the object in the thumbnail picture does not appear on the video and at the same time we have to listen to a robot voice that makes a lot of mistakes, I am unsubscribing from this channel. I enjoy most of the content but I'm subscribed to plenty of firearm channels that do not do these things, so unsubscribing from one channel to avoid clickbait and listening to an annoying robot voice that mispronounces things it's only going to do me a favor. At least kick the misleading thumbnail pictures.
The 3rd comment part of channel or responding bot or guy that's not tired of unoriginal lower standard YT channel all about views and money n not loyal fans because, not loyal content creator, could care less 🙄( anything not to do with me) (everybody's attitude nowadays), it is what it is, world n everything in it going to crap, oh well
And the Colt 1905 was the elder failed brother (JMB (PHUH) was both their Daddies) to the 1911... for the Love all that is Good and Right .... with TWO decades of hindsight, why "almost exactly" copy the failed model? Just another example of Backwards Assed Soviet fuckery .... also the Colt 1905 had fore and aft barrel links ... I have an example of the TT-33 ... just the standard Colt swinging link at the back end ... still has the stupid Broomhandle/ Colt 1902-03 grip angle ... and thin and short.... a conscript gun for lands where the people to be conscripted were expected to be starving skeletons of small stature. As originally manufactured, mine did not have a manual safety (can't be carried C&L safely, but in Russia, Safety for the Proles is almost as bad as that of the Ottomans in the early 20th Century .... )
@@suvorovoleg9325 Thus requiring relaxing/shifting the shooter's grip (moving the thumb behind the gun to cock the hammer to get the gun into action and thumbing the hammer back with the support hand is a fine way to get that thumb smacked by the slide if you are in a hurry ... poor design for a fighting handgun.... but then again, Soviet Officers weren't really fighting with it ... murdering dissidents or unpatriotic soldiers would be more likely uses...
exactly! more than half of the pictures have nothing to do with china. for example czechoslovak cz 27 with sicelencer made for nazi during occupation is labeled as the chinese qsw - 06 and many other nonsence "information".
What about that 7.62 x 17 that can barely be heard? A group of terrorists' could arm themselves with those same guns, and take us (YOU & I) out just for being American middle-class gun-lovers. If you're not worried about chy-knees invaders you must have a ace-in-the-hole?
It's the 7.62 x 25 that you worry about! A RU-vidr put a heavy, AK bullet (>120grains) in the 7.62 x 25 casing, and still got over 1200 fps from a pistol! The standard 85/90 grain Tokarev bullet will go > 1600 fps, and it destroys body armor. American troops need the PPSH 41 chambered in .357 Magnum. From a 10" barrel, you can drive a 128 grain, spire point, over 2000 fps. This will bring the SMG into the 300 meter realm, and increase the quantity of ammo that a troop can carry.
Came here to remark that Han's blaster did not simply look like the C96 broomhandle. It was a C96, with parts added to spaceify it!!! But clearly I'm late to this party!!!
Side arms or "handguns" have very little use in a military context which mean it has basically zero affect on a battle field. Handgun type and capability for a military is almost irrelevant as long as something is provided for the rare circumstance one is needed.
What a harsh, gnarly tone as commentary! In fact, it's isn't even commentary. It's admonishment. Is the commentator jabbing his finger at us, too, while scowling?
I wasn't looking for information about Chinese handguns tonight, but YT algorithm did a thing. I thank you for the video - interesting and good to know.
With that earthquake that just happened there in Taiwan… I just realized that Communist China is gonna seize that opportunity to invade Taiwan….. I honestly pray that I’m wrong!
You know it's an AI narrator when it reads the year 1930 as "one hundred ninety three"! There are lots of little details that are are taken from online sources but presented together incorrectly (also typical AI mistake). For instance, the .45 ACP Type 17 was not intended as a replacement, but only made at the Taiyuan arsenal. It was made because they were also making .45 ACP Thompsons, not because they had difficulty in obtaining 7.63 Mauser ammunition.
5.7 is a trash handgun round and FBI/NIJ statistics back up that claim. The 5.7 has the same man stopping statistics as a .25 ACP and that is really anemic. Yeah it's fast, but not fast enough to make up for the lack of diameter and weight. Most 5.7 has the same energy as a middle of the road .380 ACP load out of a handgun and when fired from a rifle 5.7 has similar energy to a 115 grain standard pressure 9mm fired from a duty sized handgun. Modern soft body armor can also stop almost all loadings of 5.7 as well so there is no advantage there either. Modern +p+ 9mm is the best choice for a military side arm. The new winchester ranger design with the hard plastic "hex vent" opens up to about .60" and with modern 2 piece cases can be loaded to 48 thousand PSI. That would give you a muzzle velocity of about 1350-1400 FPS out of a 4.5 inch barrel with a 124 grain bullet. So basically you could have a handgun with a capacity of around 20 rounds producing 500 - 550 ftlb of energy. I will take that over 5.7x28 all day every day.
It "was" but then there was a revolt in China and the ones who wanted Democracy rather than Communism escaped to Formosa, sometimes known as the Republic of China (ROC) Now called Taiwan, that was about 75 years ago so it is a bit of a Political story there. The Taiwanese don't want to be "re-taken" by China, they want to stay Democracy, and the West is probably going to help them.
@@scottcarr3264 What are you describing is called “separatism”. There has not been a single document stating that China agreed that Taiwan is a separate country. Even the US admits that Taiwan is part of China - right on its Secretary of State government website.
"Should We be Worried?" Only if you want to use them on a regular basis, they might very well blow up in your hands... PS. Didn't watch the video and judging by some of the comments I will definitely no waste my time with it. As a rule of thumb: Pretty much everything China advertises as impressive tech and innovation, is in fact not.
The simple fact that they have Soo many models and calibers and each model has so many options for calibers.. I mean that's a nightmare and they will know that when they are at war. Also, none of those guys can shoot for shit! They are so focused on precision marching and parading to show the people that their joke of a military is "big and bad" That they forgot to learn how to actually shoot!
'Frozen' Chosin Reservoir, S Korean UN 'police action'. US detail overrun.. by Chinese forces. Three GI's stranded behind fleeing US line. One GI, 'sniped at distance, leg wounded. 3 Garands, each in response, prone sighted on three distant PLA soldiers, all three GIs fired in unison. 'Puffs' of feathers from insulate quilt outerwear, indicated 3 solid hits. Body inspection discovered a very worn CZ .380 (9mm kurz),. Barrel, nearly smooth bore, wood grips blood soaked. Sold as relic, US gunshow following decades.
He makes so many pronunciation errors and errors that any intelligent person would not make, that I think this must be a computer generated voice. Pictures do not always appear to match the gun he is taling about.
THE C96 IS HAN SOLOS BLASTER. You said it was popular because it looked like it, i had to google it to.dpuble check butnyea, star wars just took old guns slapped some parts on em to make em look futuristic and voila.
Such a war would not be nonsensical as you claim. Fighting to help someone else resist tyranny is never nonsensical. Not that it matters. China is welcome to take all parts of Russia East of the Ural mountains. Most of the West has already agreed they would not object to that. Those lands belonged to China before Russia took advantage of a brief internal weakness in China's army, invaded and seized those lands. Turn about is fair play. That will of course also give China all of the oil, gas, land and technology they need to solve their internal problems, while also removing any purpose or need to threaten Taiwan or Japan or the Philippines..
So much wrong with this video. The type 54 is NOT inspired by the 1911. The TT33 was slightly inspired by the 1911, however has much more in common with the 1903.
use to own a c- 96 , great pistol , accurate as hell , only problem , is loading with stripper clips , and some did use a regular magazine ! and no ! they were not " reminiscent of flash gordons blaster , or han solos pistol ! they were reminiscent of the c-96 ! love it when some fool spouts off about something he knows little to nothing about ! lol
I'd love to have a QX-04! It's a really cool concept. I have no idea how reliable it is. Don't care. It'd be a range toy. That being said, a handgun is a means to get yo a rifle in battle. Period. It's not something that makes an enemy formidable.
