Why a VESA Monitor Stand Makes Sense

Often times, when a TV or monitor is purchased, it is wall-mounted or attached to an arm using what is known as the VESA mount; a near universal standard for mounting screens. However, there comes a time when the screen is needed elsewhere requiring use of the original stand for the screen.
Herein lies the problem: most people misplace or dispose of those mounts believing they will never need it. Well, trying to get the original stand for a TV or monitor can be relatively expensive compared to the value of the screen. Dont' be surprised to find sellers on Ebay asking for $39.99 to $59.99 for the stand often attaching a hefty shipping charge.
Before you buy the original stand, consider a stand such as this one: it is a VESA mounted stand that is compatible with a wide range of screens. The one featured in this video supports TV and computer monitors between 13-in to 32-in. The target monitor in this video is the MSI MAG217CQR 27-in curved gaming monitor. Admittedly, this monitor turned out to be problematic to mount because the space for the VESA mount was smaller than the VESA for this stand. While the stand kit includes M4 screws of 12mm and 30mm, neither worked with the spacers as the former was too short and the latter too long. I show how I worked around that until I get M4 20mm screws I ordered from Amazon.
