Hey Ash, great video. So many people out there just having a go and doing things incorrectly! and that's being polite! You can't just jump on a roof and start blasting away at it - thanks for sharing the advice 👍
@aemackintosh
@aemackintosh Месяц назад
Yeah, I was trying to be polite, but the roofers seem to hate us, but it’s because of a small group who are not taking care about what they’re doing who are ruining it for the rest.

Many cowboys in Scotland blast the pointing out then fill the gaps with " magic paint" which is used too on lead or zinc valleys,upvc pipes, noeprene flashings,cast iron,bitumen flashings/ welted drips, plastisol metal sheets,cement wraggles,and more.The paint in the gaps where the pointings were,stays long enough for the cheque to clear,to be fair.£5k for £300 worth of magic paint is normal.

Been doing this work for many years but I’m not very good at the videos, I’ve seen adverts from companies over here using cleaning methods in America and you can clearly see it’s not this country. Anyway love watching your videos keep up the good work mr Mcacintosh 👍

One thing you didn’t cover that’s very important. Asbestos tiles & sheets. As a former asbestos contractor I’ve seen many roofs where jet washing or harsh chemicals were used to clean the surface of the roof. The downside is is these often remove the thin protective layer & the roof then becomes porous. What a lot of these guys also fail to appreciate is that if you’re working on asbestos based materials then the Control of Asbestos Regulations apply. When generating waste this can fall into the category of hazardous waste, which means the waste debris & water needs to be captured & filtered & the remaining debris disposed of as hazardous waste
@aemackintosh
@aemackintosh 24 дня назад
Yes, asbestos should not be touched or disturbed in any way. This should only be dealt with by a properly certified contractor who is qualified to deal with asbestos.

Very good explanatory video ❤. Great advice with useful tips. And certainly encouraging would-be or current pressure washer companies to be more compliant with individual client's roofing/property needs/requirements. I was wondering how much, range wise, would I expect a typical family house roof (terrace) cost to have demossed cleaned and bio-sprayed thereafter? Of course requirements will change from area or client's requirements, but a simple board park figure to gauge would be helpful. Appreciate your work. Bless you.

Always good videos mate but lots of different reasons why you would and would not use FSC over Turbo. A correct setup and test of that setup fundamental to ensure the Brett job is carried out without any damage. I would never recommend swapping between turbo nozzle and a flat surface cleaner having some means to regulate pressure. 👍🏻

Do you think using the hotbox in cleaning much of a game changer to cold wash?
@aemackintosh

No, not at all. I don’t think heat is worth it.

@@aemackintosh yeah it's a lot of money just for the hotbox separately,I'm hoping to start my own roof cleaning business and didn't know if to get the hotbox or not.i suppose it's something I could get further down the line once I get my business up and going and get the essential washing tools that I need. Do you use the Benz softwash or could you recommend another brand? Thanks

Hey mate, learning alot from your videos, looking at setting up doing roofs/drives/patios and also abut if garden maintenance, i sometimes use 65° fan for rinsing off, like a water 'broom', have you ever used a 65 or 40° jets the highest angle jet/softest wash you use with the mosmatic on the roof?

Hi Ash, Awesome video, thanks for posting. What degree nozzles do you have in your fsc?. Do you use the same nozzles for all types of tiles?Thanks
@almilhouse9059
@almilhouse9059 Месяц назад
Hi Ashley, have learned a lot from videos like yours but I need to question the steam part, its very hot water as if it were steam it would take forever as the turbo wouldn't turn as the moss matic wouldn't turn either, the water flow won't be much different only that the restricted flow on the boiler and heating and sending on.... What you are seei g is just the hot vapour going off especially in the cold air which looks like steam
@StephenHeath-nk2yn
@StephenHeath-nk2yn Месяц назад
@@almilhouse9059 I dont think steam works great with a mosmatic, they would be the people you see using the turbo nozzles..

It depends on the temperature you have it set at I suppose. When I have tried hot water I’ve ended up reducing the temperature so much that it doesn’t seem worth the extra expense of all that equipment. So I stick to cold water at low pressure, followed by biocide treatment, which has much longer lasting benefits.

Them twin turbos where way to close . You don't need them that close to clean. I see where you are going. But you would be higher from the tiles
@aemackintosh
@aemackintosh 27 дней назад
Difficult to keep them at a consistent distance from the tile though isn’t it. I think you’re missing the point.

The tool that I prefer to use massively reduces the ’splatter, as you put it. We always clear up any mess we create as a result of this work.
