Buying an Infrared IR Illuminator Floodlight for your security camera system? Bringing a few tips to light before you purchase an infrared Illuminator floodlight for your security camera system. An IR Illuminator will increase night visibility for your security camera system by 1000%. Some of the areas where your camera might not have anything for the infrared light to bounce off of nearby, an IR Illuminator will be of good use.
After walking through my success and less success, I show a few of the actual situations I put my IR Illuminator floodlights in. This video should help educate you somewhat about what you "need" when you purchase your IR Illuminator Floodlights.

I came to visit your video due to my trying to find a remote IR floodlight due to spiders' cobwebs upsetting my CCTV image every week, despite clearing them, and not so much the reach of the camera's IR, which are the very good Floureon 1080p HD units. But thank you anyway for this :)

Can I suggest spraying the camera and surrounding area with a crawling insect killer spray. It usually keeps bugs at bay for a while. ( not sure if it’s available in a gel form ).The problem I’m having is everytime it rains, any raindrops falling close to the camera sets off the movement notification to my phone. I end up with lots of photos of streaks of light in front of the lens. Going to try a separate I.R light away from the camera and I can disable the camera I.R light in the app. Cheers

That's exactly my problem.. It's not often mentioned. The internal leds reflect off rain and spiders webs an aweful lot.

Is there a solar panel powered version of these infrared illuminators? That would be useful as wouldn't have to deal with any wiring

I just looked and it does not appear that an ir light is available in a solar option. It may not be too hard to put together, but not as easy. The voltage is 12V. The wired option would be much more reliable, but understand there would be applications to utilize an ir illuminator floodlight without a wire. Great question.

Can i put this floodlight at a different location like 20 ft in front on the same wall where I’ve installed the cctv camera ?

Yes, that will work fine and the camera will see it fine. It will need a power source, because 20' will be too far to extend. Also, you just can't point it back at the camera. The camera just sees a normal light like we do, but we can't see the infrared light like the camera can. You should test before you install.

Can this be used to blind my neighbors camera if I point it directly at it? They have a camera pointed into my backyard.

What ring compatible ir waterproof lights to put around the dock do you recommend?

These Ir illuminator lights all have wave length 850nm Infrared light. I looked at the ring cam and the Ring Cameras will see this wavelength of light. Not sure about the dock. Freshwater maybe, saltwater won't last very long.

FYI. dvr vs nvr cost have balanced dramatically. many units are now going to poe. so only one wire is needed. also check when doing this youre not going to overload your power pack. check your camera draw and the draw of what your planning to add.
