Watch this BEFORE you apply for any student loans | Avoid the mistakes | Prodigy vs Mpower 

I applied for Progigy Finance for 3 schools but they denied approval for all. Later, I applied to Mpower Financing and they approved my loan application. Now I am completing my Fall semester at the University of Kentucky. I am pursuing MSc Supply Chain Management. Originally from Nairobi, Kenya.

For me, I tried both MPOWER and Prodigy. And i must say MPOWER is the best. I began applying to both at the same time, my COA was $36,126 for Michgan Technological University, MPOWER approved my loan of $45,675. As for Prodigy, they could only offer me $19,200 and requested that I fund the deficit. Btw, my field is in STEM - Engineering Management. At the moment, I am preparing for my F-1 interview scheduled for October.

Mpower should have 1 for the repayment term since paying while in school reduces the total cost of interest.

Mpower can approve max of 50k per academic Year... Maximum of 100k per student. E.g 25k per year for a bachelor's degree of 4yrs or 50k per year for a 2yr course. But you gotta service interest while in school.

I don’t think prodigy gives loan to Nigerians who still live in Nigeria. I applied for Prodigy twice but was denied. I later applied for Mpower and got 76,000 usd without collateral and personal savings.

I feel your review of these loans options is one sided because a lot of things are incorrect when it comes to the Mpower loan

if you are african don’t waste your time on prodigy, they will never approve you.. MPOWER IS THE BEST!

I secured a fully funded two-year research master's program at the memorial university of newfoundland for fall semester of 2022. my acceptance letter only stated the funding for one year and states that the funding can be renewed for the second year if i maintain my eligibility( i don't know what they mean by maintaining eligibility). i applied for study permit in may 2022 with a sponsor's account statement of about CAD$15,000, it was rejected on the basis of insufficient fund. i applied again in July 2022 with about CAD$12,000 in my personal savings account and a sponsor's account statement of about CAD$22,000, yet it was again rejected on the same reason of insufficient funds. i deffered the admission to fall semester of 2023, and new admission letter has been issued. i have checked mpower, prodigy and lendwise to see if i can apply for a loan to support my next study permit application. mpower is the only one that supports my school but mpower is saying that i am not eligible for the loan when they checked my eligibility. please does anyone know any other organization i can apply for a loan or grant to support my next application? i really need to go for this graduate program, as i have longed for it and prepared for it, but finance seems to be an obstacle. Thank you as i will appreciate every response and advise.
