I just prefer the look of the vintage. The new chanel bags just look plain to me. Before the pandemic price hike, I was able to get two chanel jumbo bags and a maxi all in great condition for a fraction of today's cost. My favorite is my chanel patent leather jumbo in black. I know patent leather isn't popular, but I just love it. The quilting is not flat, and it is in good condition.

I agree it’s frustrating for a new chanel client. I can only imagine how it is now. I’ve started with chanel with the same SAs at diff locations since like 2004. When a medium classic flap in caramel comes in or a square mini, I get a photo of it right at STORE ARRIVAL to see if I want it and if I do, it’s held and paid for until I come in to check the quality or overnighted to my house and if I like it I keep it or if there’s an issue I return. I’m sure it’s like this for a bunch of regular clients… so as a new comer I would be frustrated not to be able to get anything or even see anything to try it on! And even this- I have a hard time getting my hands on certain styles that come out. It wasn’t like this pre2018-2019 tho. It was way easy to get anything … over saturated even. But with chanel trying to be Hermes, it’s become more difficult. Luckily with Hermes I was with them before the craze as well, so it’s not difficult for me to get a Kelly or birkin. Our family as a whole as several. But I can imagine the quota frustration as well. This is craaaazzzzyyy. And if I were just starting I wouldn’t be able to do it and get frustrated

My first Chanel bag was a coco handle in caviar in medium size, preloved and I got it at a good price. It’s perfect to take to work since I can carry my iPad mini in it. At this point I’m only buying Chanel preloved, the price increases are ridiculous.
I completely agree with the price increases getting ridiculous. I am also looking more towrd preloved this year, though the coco handle and some seasonal styles are not as badly priced new as the classics are...the coco handle is just such an amazing style! Really it is my favourite from Chanel. Lovely choice for your first bag 💗
Very thorough video! Though just to say, the classic WOC went up to $2650 USD (before tax), not the $3000 all the SAs were telling people it would go up to.
Thank you for clearing that up! I went buy purse blogs I read as I am not based in the US. I'm really glad to hear it didn't go to 3k. I don't think it is worth 3k to be honest. As pricy as 2.6k is, there is something about having a 2 in front that sits better than 3 for this style for me
I'm so glad you enjoyed it 💕 this is a really annoying answer, but it is mostly just about feeling a connection with them like you would when you meet a new friend. If you are getting on really well, mention something you are thinking of getting in the future and ask them if you can have their details to contact them when you come back to shop. Usually my best SAs come from them feeling like we get on and asking if they can have my WhatsApp details so send some upcoming products they think I will love. I don't always find the right SA the 1st time in the store so don't settle. If you don't get on with that person, come back another time to shop with someone else. Once you find the right one, remember they are a person first, ask them how they are, message them on holidays you know they celebrate, and respect their time by only inquiring about items you are serious about. If you make the relationship mutually beneficial and respectful, that is when my SA tends to go above and beyond to help me get hard to find pieces eventhough I am not considered a VIP. Many people go into these shops acting entitled, so going in and treating the SAs with kindness usually gets you much further. Number 1 rule is be loyal. Go to them every time you shop the brand. Technically most of Ebay is non authenticated because Ebay does not oversee each item sold. It is a platform for sellers to sell directly to buyers. In their authenticated bag section, Ebay does oversee the authentication of the items....I also love the sustainability aspect of buying preloved 💗
@@lovebug9386 ebay and many websites are cracking down on "dupes" that are counterfeits because they are illegal. Using a designer logo, like the chanel cc, on a bag that isn't made by Chanel is copyright infringement. Personally I don't support counterfeits so don't give any advice where to get them. I believe it is better to buy a lower price point quality bag from a different brand vs a counterfeit.

I’m hoping to get either a Tiffany blue woc or save more for a black mini classic flap with gold hardware new, but now I might get that one preloved. My very first Chanel purchase was a brooch and now a Tiffany blue cardholder with champagne hardware 😍😍 my absolute favorite, and so sad I missed it in store 😭 so hard to find preloved for a decent price.
Both are such lovely bag options 💗 Chanel does different variations of tiffany blue almost once per year so keep an eye out. They have a slightly darker tiffany blue at the moment. The classic flap is definitely worth looking for preloved. The current ones are soooo pricy in store!

Nice video. The gold plated and light gold are worlds apart. My 1st Chanel is a vintage and the chain is gold plated and I just bought another mini Chanel bag which has the light gold. Its very different. Chanel keep trying to bring down their costs by changing things. They are now using all kinds of ribbons. Their latest collection is really odd. I talked about it:)

Hey, I personally don't own a Chanel suede bag. I do have a Chloe with a bit of suede though. One thing is I only recommend suede if you are okay with it getting marks over time. I like the look of suede aging, but some people want their bags to look perfect always so that will be up to your personal preference. If you will rotate using this bag with other bags and take care of it well it should be fine. Chanel quality from the 90s is really good in general :)

Hi Morgan, I was hoping you would please give me some advice. I am disabled and the closest place to shop luxury like Chanel is at least a days drive away so I would have to order online. I’m interested in the Chanel Business Affinity, but I have some pretty significant neck pain and spine issues. Is there a huge difference in weight of the medium compared to the small size? I know I would not want a large. Also, have you ever bought from a seller on eBay? There’s one I think I want on there but it’s non returnable. It is authenticated by eBay and I would try to find a service to run authenticity as well although I have never done that . Please help me 🙏
Hi, I’m really not sure about the weight differences in those bags. The only way I would buy from eBay is from the authenticated by eBay so that is a good start. However I might recommend buying from a shop like fashionphile which has a return policy since you have concerns about the weight. Maybe you could also look for some reviews on those bags specifically and ask the creators if they could advise you on the weight of the bags. I don’t own that style or I would have checked for you x

I am usually reserved in adding fine jewelry pieces because I want to make sure I will get good cost per wear from them, but then I was thinking, if I buy well, I can pass the pieces down if I ever have kids. Creating a jewelry collection that can turn into a heritage collection way down the road is becoming interesting to me. I want to start thinking even more long term with my luxury purchases
